Everything you need for a short stay. Clean, tidy, warm, good shower, continental breakfast included, easy location from motorway. Met our requirements
Bed was really too soft for my own personal taste.
Location / Restaurant facilities
Entrance to lodge was in need of cleaning due to smokers
On the whole the food is very good, but the serving areas could be kept tidier, food dropped by customers needs removing straight away. Staff very friendly
In general the place could be a LOT cleaner. We thinkg its due for a GOOD BIT of decorating which would help with the cleanliness. The lamp shades are always tilted to one side like someone has knocked them off centre, only a small observation but it makes the place look a mess.
Value for money and would stay here again
Tissues in bathroom not replaced cleaning under dressing table a little desirable not done.
No matter what time you arrive to check in, the staff are always greet you with a smile and are eager to help. The level of customer service is exemplary!
Good sized room, which was warm, and clean .The staff were very accomadating and polite.Continental Breakfast very good !!
Convenience of where we wanted to be.
Attitude of lady in charge when she found out that we had booked, and then only wanted the carvery. We had never said that we would have the Christmas special, and surely as we were staying at the hotel, we were entitled to book a table for six.
The location and the service from the staff
Check in was quick and efficient by friendly staff. Rooms were easily located, clean and comfortable. Food in the Toby Carvery was good value for money.
There was nothing to dislike.
Toby car very poor
room was good, clean, warm and reasonably sized with good internet access
The cleanliness of the rooms and the comfort of the beds. Also the tea and coffee making facilities.
The fact that we had to book in at the Carvery where, after a 240 mile journey, we had to line up with diners at the restaurant to get our keys. I have never before been to a hotel where there is no reception at the hotel.
The location and access to free parking. Food was great and price, great value for money. Staff polite and friendly.
Menu in rooms. Both copies of weekday and weekend should be provided. Price a bit more for the weekend. (Still good value for money).
Location of the Lodge was good and £52 for a couple for bed and breakfast was good value. The breakfast was adequate and we did have the opportunity to "upgrade" it to a full English breakfast if we'd wanted to.
The room was cold and there was a draught coming from the window even though it was closed (we put the heating on and put a towel across the bottom of the curtains to help bring the room to an ambient temperature). We didn't bother mentioning this to the staff as we were only there one night anyway.
Has everything you would ask for for an overnight stop
The room was nice, and very clean. Was able to park right outside the building. Had the carvery in the evening which was very good, but could have done with two chefs carving during the busy time to save queuing.
The Continental breakfast wasn't very good, the Danish pastries were hard, no one offered the fresh coffee until I enquired. The breakfast layout was a bit shoddy, unmatched tablecloths, large bin next to the table, had to do my own toast, no fresh fruit salad, fresh bread, ( only sliced) or homemade muesli. A bit basic. Didn't try the cooked breakfast, so don't know what that was like. Whoever is in charge needs to look at the breakfast service. Staff could have done more than just stand at the till. Wouldn't take much to make it a lot better!
The breakfast was very good value
Having to get the attention of someone at reception to get hold of the keys etc
price, staff very good and so helpful parking easy as loads of spaces . very clean room.
sofa had suck in the middle and bed needs replacing to . we got there late pub was empty so the food was cold .
friendly staff trying to assist reasonable price
room too noisy: kitchen ventilator in front of room 218, mice in the attic very audible, road very loud bloodstains on the shower curtain
Room had good space and comfortable armchair; Comfortable bed; Plenty of hot water and well equipped bathroom; Everything in good working order.
Double bed was a standard double rather than king size as in most similar lodge accommodation; We had one room on each of the two floors - the fire door key entry to the upstairs made that a little inconvenient; Breakfast in the Toby Carvery was extremely busy on Sunday morning and staff really didn't manage to keep supplies topped up despite their best efforts. Plates and cutlery were not perfectly clean - probably because they were being rushed through the dishwasher.
good food and service
position of room noise from extraction system
the lack of staf to help us at breakfast time, itwas our first vidit but we mnaged
Location and ease of booking
Room was cold and has no way of adjusting temperature to your own liking late at night
Value for money, ease of location & 3.99 cook Breakfast & Staff were friendly and always willing to help.
Wifi poor kept buffering Noisy room as at back of kitchens bins getting shelled out and staff smoking noisy & Parking was a problem because the restaurant was so busy.Guests should have designated parking which would help & Breakfast was terrible for us, because plates, knivers, spoons and forkes were not clean. & wasn't cleaned in pub too
