Very friendly staff and good value, plus a fine setting
The bed was past its prime
The staff are very friendly and helpful. The weather was quite cold but it always felt warm and comfortable inside.
Location Restaurant Great inclusive continental breakfast Clean and well presented rooms
No free wifi
Availability good location
Basic room not very clean
The friendly staff. The facilities The location The room except the noise. Breakfast
The noise from the extractor fans
A really cosy hotel overlooking ilkley Moore. Good value for money.
Accessibility to rooms (to many stairs) Nowhere to sit comfortably in room or in a residents lounge Mish mash of chairs in dining room.
Clean, beautiful location, good selection at breakfast.
My elderly grandad (85yrs) was left to carry his own bags up 2 flights of stairs with no offer of help. He would never ask for help, far too proud, but as he is very wobbly these days it should surely have been offered?
Helpful staff, location, value
Noise of the kitchen fans which pervaded the bedroom until 11:00pm or beyond
Friendly staff and comfortable room.
2 flights of stairs to bedroom, no windows (just very high skylights) so no view, basic breakfast.
We loved our stay at the cow and calf. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The rooms were well appointed and clean. Our dinner on the Friday night was just what we needed after a long drive and the breakfast super too. All in all great value!
No separate shower in the twin room.
We loved the restaurant for food and service and the bar was really comfortable and homely
The location is certainly the best feature of this hotel. Very close to the moors if you enjoy walking. Many foothpaths with beautiful views accross the moors and countryside. Restaurant serves decent food but nothing too fancy. Staff very polite and helpful. My room was very small but clean.
A lot of noise from extractor fans placed just outside my window. Luckily it stopped at some point before going to sleep to restart again in the morning. At least it was quiet throughout the night.
The staff were very helpful, friendly and the service was very good.
When I booked hotel it said it was a 15 minute to the station. What I didn't realise was the Inn is on the top of a very long hill and whilst the walk down to the station is ok I certainly didn't want to be lugging my briefcase back up the hill. The room I was in (6) was chilly throughout my stay despite the radiators being full on. The TV reception is very bad making it unwatchable. Continental breakfast included in the £65 is poor. Basically cereal or toast there are no cold meats or cheese, you can order a cooked breakfast but this would be £6-95 per person taking the room for a couple upto £79 which I would suggest would not be good value. If you like walking and your visiting the area as a break this could be the place for you as someone on business next time I come to Ilkley it will be to stay in the town centre.
Would have liked a room with a view. Our room only had a high window you could not see out of which was a shame.
Deeply dissapoointed that we were surrounded by such breath taking countryside and could not see any of it from our room. We we're put in a room with 2 unreachable and very smal roof Velux windows.
Comfortable, well positioned small hotel with great food and service on edge of Ilkley moor. Fabulous views of the Cow and Calf Rocks. Continental breakfast had a wide choice of items inc.12 different cereals plus croissants etc. Cooked breakfast was extra but had huge portions. Staff seemed local and were very friendly.
Best take own soap etc. The 'wash' provided is a dark brown substance in a wall dispenser. The cold water is tepid. And the kamikaze taxi service which hurtles up and down from the town is scary!
Lovely warm and welcoming bar to come into from a dirty wet night outside! Good beer and prompt service
Disappointing food! A fish selection with leathery cured salmon, overcooked squid and tasteless fish followed by inedible haddock cooked to a crisp through. Burger was fine but chips were cold as they were on our neighbouring table. Shame!
Location on top of the moor looking out over Ilkley. Food, the pub does a great burger and has a varied traditional pub menu. The cleanliness the rooms are great I've stayed in 3 different rooms all of them have been cleaned to a high standard. The staff, they are friendly and happy to help. The open fires in the pub they have two and it's lovely to sit next to them while the wind blows outside. They now have the option to have a cooked breakfast for an additional charge. This is great for those who like something hot and the full English was worth the additional reasonable cost. And as always the included continental breakfast was plentiful.
Great location, breakfast staff very friendly, beds very comfortable
Hand shower over bath, needed to have a curtain or screen to stop soaking floor. Not safe getting in and out of bath as high off the ground. Staff very busy as it was Sunday, so not able to check in early.
Room & bathroom were very roomy & comfortable
No TV reception & no staff to assist . Unable to phone room to room.
A very warm welcome, the atmosphere was relaxed, nothing too much trouble. The visit was made as comfortable as possible with late night access etc. It was certainly very good value for money and very easy to book on line.
I can find nothing to criticise.
Location is great
Cleanliness of breakfast area was poor. Décor of room needed attention, broken blind, flaking paint, cracked plaster etc. Full English breakfast should be included considering the price, even if room was in better condition. First time I've ever had to pay in full on check-in.
The hotel was faultless and good value for money. Your booking system was also excellent.
The hotel directions need reviewed - very confusing. This was confirmed by our local friends!
