Great Location

Grossly understaffed in bar/meals area, buffet breakfast of low quality. (Old dry baked goods, poor tasting coffee)

Nice spacious room. Wonderful location. Very good breakfast

Staff were very helpful when my daughter in Australia called to ask for the name of a local florist so that she could send some birthday flowers. They took delivery of the flowers and put them in my room. The setting is superb. We had a very good quality continental breakfast.

All lovely, we are planning to return this time next year.

It's such a beautiful setting and the Cow & Calf is perfect for it's location - a warm, cosy, friendly place with real fires and delicious food. Loved it!

The beds.Too small and bouncy. No english breakfast. No ice available for a fresh orange drink at 11.00am

Beautiful setting and building,the view while having breakfast over looking the cow & calf rocks was stunning.... And the staff are extremely friendly as well...

The only thing was our room was on the top floor and only had a skylight window,it's abit or a shame because the first floor rooms look amazing.... But don't get me wrong the room wasn't awful or anything it's simply the fact you miss out on them amazing views....

Location, friendly staff, good value for money. We have stayed before and it remains my preferred accommodation in the town.

Cooked breakfast would be nice even if offered at increased price. Travelled with my 90 year old mother and the stairs were a bit of a problem for her.

My friend and I had not been to Ilkley before and had heard how nice it was so we decided to check out the hotels for a one night stay. We cold not have been happier with the location and the hotel, food and staff.

We found our room very comfortable and all the staff helpful and friendly.

Booking was convenient, we booked on line as we travelled. Staff friendly and helpful, room ok for what we paid.

Bit disappointed with breakfast as I need gluten-free diet and just had a pear for breakfast (which was actually very good). An egg would have been perfect.

i stayed for my birthday and had a very nice time the room was warm and clean and the staff all worked very hard. Just one thing get rid of the plastic cups in the bathroom and get some glass ones you can get some good ones for 50p in M & S! Breakfast was ok but would have liked the option of a cooked one. But for the price it was great. My mum had her 21st in 1963 at the hotel so it was like going backin time for her.

Location was excellent despite misty conditions when we were there. Very clean bedroom. Lovely eating areas with open fires and alcoves etc. Food very good.

tv reception was poor in bedroom. Items selected on menu were not available when asked for. It was a shame there was only continental breakfast available especially when many people staying there were walkers etc. who would appreciate a cooked breakfast.

Checking-in was difficult.

The furnishings and decor. We felt comfortable both relaxing in the bar and when dining.

The bed! we had a very uncomfortable nights sleep in room 6. The mattress had passed its sell by date and as the floor had a slight slope, so did the bed.

Beautiful setting and very reasonable room rates. The food was also good. Continental breakfast was excellent.

Although our room was adequate for our needs it was a shame that our room which was on the top floor only had a skylight window preventing any view of the countryside.

We liked the experience of staying somewhere different & very rustic,,cosy & a little historic with lovely views. We would like to stay again and a winter break really appeals.
