Location for what I wanted to do
Room smelt of damp
Fantastic welcoming and very accommodating staff, very comfortable rooms and great meals.
Would be better if more family rooms were available or the option to sleep 2 small children on extra beds in a double room rather than needing 2 rooms for a family of 4.
We were a group of 11 staying the night before a family wedding - 13 of us eating in the restaurant. Friendly and efficient welcome from, I think, the manager. The rooms were clean, pleasant and have character. The meal was very good - well arranged and nicely decorated restaurant lively (but not noisy) and relaxing. Staff were very helpful, efficient and flexible.
large rooms comfy single beds
bad news when you had to get up in the night. the loo was up one flight of stairs and down another. not a shared bathroom just a little difficult to reach
There used to be a good continental breakfast but the items on offer have dwindled considerably. Having to ask for hot water rather making the porridge to one's own liking was not acceptable! Storage space in our room was limited to 1.5 very shallow drawers plus the wardrobe which already contained other items.
When we arrived the second bed hadn't been made up but staff were really quick to sort it out. Found the staff really helpful and polite and always trying to deliver great customer service. had a really good nights sleep & the room was really big, easily accommodating 3 of us.
Friendly staff :-)
Friendly bar staff, good selection of drinks, nice basic but comfortable clean room.
Lady serving breakfast rude. Everything too much trouble.
No air con
Good sized rooms with excellent en suite facilities. Food is exceptional.
It is situated on a busy road so depending on which room you are in early morning road noise can be intrusive.
Location very good, good food
Shower small, room veryhot in the heat. No air con and window only able to open a fraction. Creaky floorboards.
We stayed at the Dun Cow as an over night stop whilst travelling from the Northwest to Kent for a holiday. It is ideally placed close to the motorway and the staff and food were excellent.
The only downsides were the poor wifi and the bins being emptied rather early in the morning!
Location, good food, accommodation, friendly staff
No air conditioning and windows did not open - however, we were lent a fan, which helped
every thing except continental breakfast service.
the continental breakfast which each morning run out of orange juice, brown bread for toast, plates and the selection of yogot. the only thing that did not run out but was not wanted was the conversation with the waitres.
to sleep there good
to eat bad food was dry and poor value for its money and it should inclueded cooked breakfast just add a small charge for our english people, also u should of had more staff on for breakfast people where waiting for a number of items not organised
Pillows much too hard and hot should be feather or microfibe!
Friendly staff and very comfortable rooms, especially after a long day. Dinner menu good and very satisfying meal. Thank you. Already booked to come back on next trip and now my preferred place to stay in Rugby.
Pretty much everything. Staff courteous and very helpful. Breakfasts mnagnificent and great value for money. Floorboards were creaky but charming and added to the character of the hotel. Not much to ciricize really. Great value for money in a hotel that exuded warmth and hospitality.
Wi-Fi????? What Wi-Fi? Doors could do with door closer on the suppressed the slamming of the door particularly the security door at the top of the stairs. Better light over or near access to Room 4. I found it very difficult to find the key hole at night because it was so dark. Room 4 was noisy with lorries and motobikes on the roads outside but it wasn't really a problem a to me but maybe would be to others. Television remote didn't work satisfactory as the bed was too far away for the remote to function well. All nit-picking which shouldn't distract from a lovely, homely hotel. Better than many 4 star hotels I've stayed in that's for sure!
The location and the friendly, good food too.
Traditional Style, Cosy Room, Good Food,
One young staff member although polite noted a few times to other staff members while checking in 'I don't know where that room is, I don't know how to do that etc'
location, great place to stay, friendly staff ! What more do you need to know ?
cold croissants...... (no facilities to warm them)
Staff very pleasant and bedroom very clean.
Noise from passing traffic (ground floor room to front) kept us awake all night. Breakfast very basic. Dining area did not look clean.
The food was excellent served in a good atmosphere with friendly staff
Can get very busy on a weekend, so make sure you book a table as early as you can.
Nice place kept in reasonable condition
Breakfast was a shambles. Poor service, poor food and 'continental' - was a bit of a misnomer for toast and cereal.
Great place. Staff very friendly and helpful. Didn't get a chance to try the food but will definitely be back.
