Hotel was comfortable and well worth the money. We will be going back when we have more time to explore the surrounding areas

They were very busy when we arrived (a popular place with the locals) but were very helpful and attentive. Clean comfortable room, nice clean sizeable shower room and the room was a very nice size for us and our child. Very pleasant place. Good bed. Great TV. Nice staff. Parking fine. Great value for money. A great place and would happily stay there again, and look forward to doing so.

Pillows a little thin, but that was the only thing wrong really. Food was nice (and good value)- Great homemade pies - but veg was a little overdone and rather canteen-ish, but that is a small criticism.

plenty of parking, service was good even though they were busy. fantastic food, friendly staff, welcoming and accommodating( even tho we were dresssed for riding!) Large bedroom, clean and had great amenities. EVERYTHING WAS GREAT.

A lovely building in a very nice location

Very understaffed. We had to wait for longer than ten minutes to be served at the bar on every occasion we wanted a drink or food.

It was freezing cold in the rooms and bathroom I got in the shower then found out there was no shower gel in the dispenser radiators on in the corridors but not in the rooms

Convenient location for my friends who live locally. Well priced for both the room and drinks at the bar. I hadn't realised that check-in was at 3 but they let us check-in at 2.30 which was appreciated. Found the night entrance easily as it was well signed. Shower was absolutely heavenly - powerful and lashings of hot water.

Room hadn't been hoovered as there were beads on the floor, presumably from a previous guest's broken necklace. Possibly due to letting us check in half an hour earlier but would have preferred waiting for a cleaner room. Mattress was uncomfortable - lumpy and sagged in the middle. Handsoap dispenser was empty. Would have preferred to pay more and have a full english breakfast.

bathroom was cold. would have been useful for us to be able to take a meal from the bar to our room as we were travelling with a toddler and a baby who need to go to bed early

Ambience of lodge very good. Staff friendly and attentive. The meals were excellent, but service was slow.

Organisation rather poor. Good maitre d' could improve matters no end. Sufficient and friendly staff but harassed owing to lack of coordination particularly for evening meal. A separate check-in point not at the end of the bar would be a plus. Bar staff should complete service to one customer before attending to another, their observation skills could also be improved. Why book a table if you cannot get to it until 90 minutes after the booked time. Suggest you dump the computer for a daily diary so everyone can see which guests are attending at what time at a glance instead of ploughing through 3 or4 printed sheets. You should then be able to avoid overbooking which appears to be a problem. Keep things simple!

Bathroom was freezing!

I stay in various accommodation during the working week. Innkeepers Lodge has to be one of, if not the best I have ever stayed in. It was superb in every way

quick response when we phoned to get childrens bed made up. The breakfast staff lady was very friendly

we couldn't find the night exit, both adults looked for it separately, either bedrooms/staff only or alarmed fire exits. would prefer english breakfast to continental.

The staff were all very friendly and helpful,the accomodation was clean and well maintained.The food was of a very high standard,and was good value for money.I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone.

Parking and village location.

The Lodge accomodation is past its best and apart from not being ale to walk on the bedroom floor beacuse of the noise of the floorboards and disturbing others, the room had a picture that had fallen of the wall and left, window blind in bathroom fell off, and was removed leaving the window partially open to vierw from outside. The reception when I checked in was poor and the second person where I asked for directions and conformation of the room number could not be bothered and un helpful. The place needs a real shake up in staff (male), the waitress were great and helpful.

The location was nice. The pub was warm and relaxed

It took me 20 minutes to check in after a long drive. Although there was a sign that said check in it was at the bar and I had to stand there as if waiting to be served for a drink. The bed was uncomfortable. Breakfast was a bit odd. No one took our order. I didn't know if a cooked breakfast was available, we just helped ourselves to the buffet style breakfast laid out

The lodge was perfect for our trip. We stayed one night travelling between chester and london. It was a cold december night the fires were burning in the hearth, the christmas setting was fantastic. We ate in the bar area and enjoyed every moment of the experience. Our room was a family room and very spacious, the staff were attentive. would stay again.

The room was adequate for the price and the setting with thatched cottages around was very nice.

On arrival at 2.38pm I tried to check in. I was told "we don't check in until 3 O'clock". There was no courtesy, no "sorry sir, would you like at a drink at the bar while waiting" just pure rudeness. At 3.00pm I waited 5 more minutes before anyone deemed to serve me. Again, no politeness. Just "checking in?" No please or thank you. The place is a popular "up-market" pub. It claims a well stocked bar. 2 of the ales they had ran out. Not very well stocked then. It was busy in the bar and restaurant, but cold. I couldn't take my coat off. At the end of the evening I had to listen to a group of young men loudly swearing whilst I shivered in the corner with a pint of ale not of my choice as the beer I wanted had run out. The wait at the bar was also too long. All this is a shame as my weekend was ruined by a lack of civility and poor stock management.

The bedrooms were very nicely furnished and a small but smart shower room. The free continental breakfast was ecxcellent with very good choice.

The furniture in the bars and dining rooms were very outdated and in need of refurbishment.
