WIFI available but good luck with that, no connections or access in the two days I stopped (in room), occasionally connected in the bar.
All rooms on the left side of the block are on the A50 road side which is an extremely busy and noisy road, no double glazing so the noise carried, better on night as the traffic died down.
Breakfast selection was good for a continental breakfast, my biggest frustration was that there was only 4 tables but more than that, on my 1st visit, two tables had people on the other two where full of dirty pots, cups and plates, I waited awhile but no one came, so collected up the pots and placed on the table with food selection. Got my food and sat down and despite table being cleared of pots by me, it was still messy and sticky from the previous visitors. After starting my breakfast a lady appeared and asked for my room key after showing her it she disappeared again, not attempting to clear the other table or the pots I placed on the food area. Another couple arrived and sat at the only spare table, again she appeared enquired about there room number and despite them sat at a table full of pots, she made no attempt to clear and just walked off! They like me, stacked the dirty dishes and placed them on the back of their table. I sat their for 20/25 mins and not once was any table cleared/wiped. On my 2nd visit the next day, sadly the same person was on duty and not even wishing me a good morning, just wanted my room key & number, again I sat at a table which had not been cleaned or wiped after the last customers. Surely its not much effort to keep on top of 4 tables, clearing and wiping. Yet the service from the Manger on arrival and the bar staff on the evening couldn't have been more attentive and pleasant.
Lovely pub, 400 years old full of character and old charm. Food was delicious, especially the offers they had on.
The room was spacious & clean with Tea/Coffee facilities and a nice touch with the basket with "top ups" such as extra Sugar, Milk, Tea & Coffee.
