as rated good value for money would go again if down that way
breakfast was very good, location was excellent staff were very helpful and polite, room was clean and tidy,en suit was excellent good car parking.
Big bed Location Cleanliness
Breakfast even though continental was very limited Television oddly positioned Décor -a bit run down
no bread for a sandwich or potatoes for jacket potatoe, staff were not bothered or caring in the slightest
Having to wait to check in. Staff need to serve customers quicker and realise that people may have had very long journeys to reach their hotel. stop getting you to jump from one till to another. Friendly enough but I don't like waiting. Bit more professional would be good.
Clean, comfortable room with very good bathroom facilities.
Pub allows customers to revel on at 3 am in the outside undercover area under the rooms. This was a Saturday though.
Clean, pleasant staff.
Poor breakfast selection. WiFi only available on payment.
close to town and station
the place was in need of a lick of paint in some areas
Friendly staff, lovely breakfast. Felt very safe staying here as a lone female.
The bedroom and bathroom were cold. This was in August so maybe later in the year with the hearing on it might be O.K
Size of room and comfort of beds. Excellent housekeeper who was very helpful and thoughtful. Tea and coffee making facilities were good. Sufficient room for clothing - i.e. drawers and hanging space.
Price , Room, Location
Room to warm but able to cool it down by opening windows
Loud message from another venue close by
I arrived early and my room was available
The staff were so friendly and welcoming
No bad points to make
Great location, good value for money, clean and quiet room.
Had to be early to get any choice at breakfast.
Spacious accommodation with comfortable large beds
updated decor would make this the ideal accommodation.
Beds were nice and big. Plenty of towels and blankets provided. Convenient (if cramped) car park (free for guests) at the rear with easy access directly to the room, almost like an apartment. 14 lights. En-suite bathroom was tidy and clean.
Decor in the bar area was a little tired, scuffed and chipped paint in some areas. Limited options for breakfast, pre-packaged muffins instead of fresh pastries, tea tasted a bit odd. Not entirely clear where to check in, or how to check out.
Quiet area Spotless Good location
The housekeeper was very helpful and moved us to a larger room on request. She also did a follow up to see if we were satisfied with the size of the second room.
The food at the connected ember inn was way below standard both for the "free" continental breakfast and the evening meals that we purchased. The steak and chicken were both of poor quality and unappetizing. The breakfast was extremely basic with no cold cuts or cheese and little or no fruit. Rooms have no air conditioning or telephones and were very hot. The rooms we occupied also were in need of a "deep" clean in some areas and were dusty in others. They are also in need of a refurbishment to include king sized beds in the double rooms and modern furniture. The existing furnishings are very utilitarian and outmoded. With the exception of the housekeeper the staff were either inexperienced or uninterested and this appeared to be an establishment that is understaffed as the bar was often unmanned particularly at "quiet" times. On occasions the breakfast items were cleared away while guests were still partaking of breakfast.
location, free parking,, good menu for food. Clean and friendly place.
very small single room, bit dated. Breakfast limited - ask for croissant but had none - 9am Saturday. If you just want toast, then it's okay.
Very clean, nice room, nice bed , desk, and tea and coffee equipment
Its actually not the Lodge fault but I had room downstairs and had very noisy people in the room above me.. All evening and from early morning sounded like they were moving furniture and walking around the room the heaviest possible way.. Plus banging the doors.. So if I stay again it definitely has to be the room upstairs. As I said- its not the logde's fault. Some people just don't know how to behave in such places.
Everything was spot on, Food very good and plentiful, Comfort,Politeness, everything you wanted on a visit very good well done, Thank you.
No fuss and good breakfast Near green parkland
Looked a bit messy on the outside and no lift inside. Corridors and doors difficult to negotiate.
fan in the room, it was very hot
it must be run on a shoestring, had run out of basics on friday and still had on sunday?
