easy access to town
lack of seats in the pub
We'd had a long day at a wedding and a bit of trouble finding you as we didn't know the area. When we arrived after 9pm the staff were very friendly and helpful, despite a busy night in the pub. We were shown to our room and later when I ordered some food at the bar, they offered to bring it up, which meant so much when we had our hands full with a small baby. Room was lovely and bed HUGE and very comfy!
With the fairground in full swing over the road when we arrived, parking was very difficult and there didn't seem to be enough spaces for guests. I know you can't stop the fair being there, but it might be an idea to maybe let guests know in advance so they are prepared for it!
Nothing was to much trouble for the staff, there was a water problem while we were there but we were kept up to speed with all the neccesaary info.Breakfast was arranged early for us as my daughter was on a course and needed to be there early.
Room was clean and spacious. Breakfast exceeded my expectations.
Quite a convoluted route from front door to room... surprised I found it at 1am!!
near top the wedding we were going to
most of it
The staff were very friendly and helpful
Fantastic cleanness all around, friendly helpful staff, home feeling. Free wifi in the rooms and free car park as well. Good food in the inn for a reasonable price.
I really can`t tell any wrong!!
they've turned down the music and the tv , now the bar is habitable
The food was very nice and the location was good for town centre.
The breakfast was disorganised nobody knew who was doing the cooking
Good position, parking and basic breakfast included in the price. Other food was first class and staff very helpful.
Bed a bit too firm for me and some of the pillows rather lumpy but not so bad as to spoil the stay.
Staff were very helpful and friendly
Very limited breakfast choice
Nice rooms, family room a good size. Restaurant /bar staff helpful.
Stayed due to a visit to legoland for my grandsons 4th birthday. Family room booked, but on checking in was told no children permitted in the restaurant / bar after 8! This was a huge inconvenience as the reason we chose this hotel was because of the pub being on site. The member of staff checking us in was unhelpful and unfriendly. His skills in customer service need improving.
great location great especially for the theatre and town centre, free parking
bed very uncomfortable, rooms cold
The room, the car parking, the location, the staff
The musac was very loud, and the telly was also loud, the enjoyment of one being spoilt by the presence of the other. In the end decided to eat out as the cacophonous noise was too much for me!
The room was clean and reasonably equipped. The en suite was well equipped with a good shower. Despite being a pub there was no noticeable noise and a good nights sleep was enjoyed. The continental breakfast was adequate.
We did not find the staff particularly helpful, without a very welcoming attitude, although in fairness the manager did arrange a taxi for me on the Sunday but had to rely on one of his staff to provide a telephone number when the two he had could not help
The noise from the music and guests till gone 2am
location, clean and good bathroom,
wi-fi through O2, need to sign up with email address and english phone, international travellers might have difficulties connecting, O2 blocks certain sites that they deem inappropriate, breakfast very limited choices, small packagin not environmentally friendly, pub food cheap and low quality ingredients
Was booked in through booking.com from 25-28th of September but when I went to check in I was informed they had no rooms and that I would have to find alternative accommodation ...staff were not helpful and laid the blame on booking.com Thomas
The bathroom was lovely, modern and clean and the service was very good.
The rooms could do with some updating.
Nothing that I liked....
There was no water supply on next day of my stay. This is basic requirement. Even Bar was closed far earlier then other hotel. So I don't like any thing basically. Even all the staff at lodge was sleeping like anything in night so to wake them up for check in and check out was a headache!!!
Location & free parking
Saturday morning buffet breakfast not as advertised no fresh fruit or any fruit of any kind. no yogurts no croissants & saw starf topping up percolated coffee with nescafe instant coffee sachets from buffet table as coffee had been topped up with water so many times to make it so weak you couldn't call it coffee. Also there was no orange juice just cranberry juice for breakfast? I know it was a pub but too run out of orange juice is not on.Would I stay there again maybe, if its just for the black bananas that they served up on the sunday morning buffet but that another story.
On arrival I was greeted by several squatters in the hallway. The room was tiny and had a paper thin stud wall between it and the neighbouring room. It was filthy and the camp bed uncomfortable, basic breakfast, stay elsewhere.
The Staff were friendly and very helpful, the room was fresh and clean, the en-suite immaculate. There was a free car-park and my daughter was able to leave her car there until 3,30pm while we attended our son's Funeral in Guildford. Meals available until 10.00pm, and a good choice.
Our room overlooked what I think was a Refrigeration unit, which chugged on and off all night. There was a function on that night so service for food was very slow. Traffic noise from early on, but we couldn't sleep anyway with the Funeral the next day. The room was very warm but a fan is provided.
Most of it Not clean beds to hard then we were moved bed to soft and small breakfast bad had to pay for full eng the continental breakfast very poor bread frozen very dry and croissants very hard and dry
