value for money
Only 10 minutes from the centre of Edinburgh by bus which were every five minutes, the staff were very helpful and welcoming. The hotel was great and the breakfast was excellent value for money. Overall for a short break it was excellent.
Wi-Fi speed was very poor
Location eady access by bus to centre
Shower bit small.
handy to eat and for town
bed was jammed up against wall so one person had to climb over bed to sleep
The beds were really comfortable. The room, while 'cozy' provided all the comforts one could expect when on a city trip. The bathroom was pristine and the room cleaned daily. Great cable TV service to unwind when returning from a long day of sightseeing. Best part for us, was the restaurant located on the main floor that served up succulent meats and hearty breakfast at low prices. This was very convenient, and due to the restaurant, the hallways always smelled like stew. Some may find that objectionable, but it really reminded me of being at Grandma's house for a weekend visit; constantly cooking and feeding you the same until you exploded. It certainly added that "homely" feeling that will certainly keep us coming back for another stay in a heartbeat.
Location can be a tad better, but to be honest, it didn't really bother us at all. Loads of buses stop directly in front of the hotel that go straight into Waverly Bridge. It may be recommended that the hotel inform their guests that taking the Express bus from the airport into the city (bus station) is not required as one can get off at a stop nearby and avoid taking the city bus back to the hotel.
We loved everything about this hotel! The staff was incredibly nice and polite. The food was great, always freshly cooked and you could have a full english breakfast for only 3,99£, the position was well served by frequent buses to the center. I recommend staying here 100%, we will definitely come back here in the future visits to Edinburgh!
Location is great. Staff were all fabulous- friendly & helpful. Restaurant is great value for money & nice food.
Mattresses need replaced in family room. Fresh paint & a mirror near the power points would great !
liked room, staff, bar, and food , and great location
didn't stay there before will stay in future, hits a hidden gem
Staff excellent and great value for cooked breakfast.
Lack of parking spaces for residents
location as we had access to free parking. close to town by bus. quiet, rooms were comfortable clean. located above restaurant/carvery food was great ( well catered for vegetarians)
our particular room was a little crammed (we had a 6 month old baby with us) so had a lot of her luggage :)
Always very friendly and helpful. We really appreciate how accommodating the staff are. Always enjoy breakfast. Location is great for town with easy access to the airport. I also like the surrounding area of Corstorphine.
Bear in mind, the accessible room is very near to the restaurant and it was very noisy with festive parties. Happy everyone was having a great time but would appreciate some sound proofing along that wall.
Very nice place to stay room was great and very good value for what we paid and free parking
Damp smell from bathroom witch wont take long to put right as expelair wasnt working
bus outside hotel to princess street staff where very friendley
the option for full cooked breakfast was a good price but quality of the cooked breakfast was a bit poor
Ease of booking and convenience of hotel location for our purposes
Landings and hallways not as clean as rooms
Lovely hotel centrally located, clean and tidy and great value for money. Meals were delicious and fresh, but the main reason for a good stay was the friendly and helpful staff from reception, bar and restaurant continuous great service throughout thankyou.
Only negative from our stay was the bed which had a dip in the middle of the mattress so was not very comftable., we only stayed 2 nights so wasnt a major problem and did not mention this to staff as everything else I couldn't fault just might be something worth replacing to top off a great stay.
Bar and restaurant areas comfortable and bright with Christmas decorations. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast and Carvery very good value.
General refurbishment is needed. Alternative menu would be a good addition to the everyday carvery.
Lovely staff, comfortable room, great breakfast
Nothing not to like.
The staff were very friendly, the location was easy to get to and the breakfast was very good.
The room was very small and there was a strong smell in the staircase leading up to our room from the carvery.
Very near Central Edinburgh.
I liked almost everything during my stay.
I am really disappointed for the extra added breakfast services mentioned in the details as i received breakfast that excluded eggs and for continental breakfast i was asked to pay 4GBP.
bus stop outside the hotel into town 20 mins toby restaurant also loved the no smoking card ---witty
the bed was a bit lumpy a new one would be advised still slept ok though
Bus stop outside the hotel so you do not have to drive into Edinburgh, just watch the bus no's is they can have the same number but go to different parts of the city
creaking floorboards outside the bedrooms
