The location was ideal for what we were in the area for. There was blood on both pillows and on the net curtains in our room which was disgusting. This was raised with the staff who simply looked at me with blank looks on their faces.

On arrival the hotel did not look very inviting and on greeting the management had left a young girl on reception who was unsure of what she was doing and she admitted this herself. The reception was unappealing as was the trek to find our room. The rooms had little security as there were no internal lock or chain and could be opened at any time by management or cleaners with room cards. There was a scruffy, hand written fire escape route on the back of the door and the room was dull and scruffy and in need of a thorough clean. There were holes in the ceiling and curtains and the wall paper was coming off in places. There was make up on the pillows. The bathroom was filthy and not fit for purpose as the extractor fan could not cope with the steam from the shower and the shower/bath did not drain very well. Every time someobdy walked past our door or somebody opened/closed their door ours would rattle and bang. The walls and windows were very thin and prevented very little noise. On leaving, the unpresentable receptionist took a long time to tear herself away from the computer and acknowledge we were even there before grunting a goodbye.

Not a lot. . The only good thing to say is that the sheets were clean and the bed comfortable which is why I gave comfort a fair. The toilet was not cleaned. There were hairs in the bath and sink. There were bits on the carpet - not vacumed properly. The kettle and hair dryer did not work. When I complained on the evening nothing was done. I had to go back in the morning and ask for another kettle and hair dryer again. The kettle was replaced then but nothing was done about the hair dryer. For my evening meal there, the food was slow in coming and of a poor standard. The continental breakfeast was very limited. Basic coffee, cereal and toast. I would not stay again

The room was excellent - bigger than expected and very comfortable. Easy to park, next to pub for food and drink (didn't even have to go outside - could walk through). Staff very helpful. Free Wifi. Would definitely stay there again.

The reception staff were very curt and brusque especially the Head receptionist. When booking we asked for quiet rooms. One was great. The other we were not able to even contemplate sleep until 5am due to noise from those attending a function in "The Lounge". Breakfast was very scant. There was no fruit salad available only tinned pineapple. There was only white bread and no pastries. There were no fresh bananas. It was poor value for money.

The staff were lovely but the hotel is need of some repair/re- decoration, the first room we were put in had a large amount of mould on the bathroom ceiling. The receptionist tried her best to move us , we ended up in the disabled facility room, which I may add also had mould ( just not as much !) on the bathroom ceiling. The hallways were tired & had an unusual smell to them. We sat down to dinner in the sports loung & had dirty cutlery on the table. On the plus side the beds were comfortable & the staff were very sweet. They were let down by the general state of the decor. This hotel is ok if you are popping away for a cheap night but really think it should have an overhaul.

The Hotel was easy to find, just out of town so easy access. There was every thing you needed for a short stay. Food on sight was good, altho quite a wait for food to be produced to table. Staff were very polite and well trained. A budget hotel but not shoddy, we were more than pleased at the cost. Most of the other hotels were a rediculous price for one overnight stay to pick up the ferry. We were very satisfied and would stay again. From ordering food we were told it would be approx 45mins to 1 hour. There is a dining room for the hotel and there is a Hungry Horse pub adjoined to it with seperate eating area - but all the food was coming from the same kitchen therefore on a nice evening woth lots of familys out for a meal it was quite a delay. But food wad good on arrival

The room was very nice, clean and comfortable for a few nights stay.Staff where very helpful, friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was excellent quality and good for money. We did here a few kids screaming and where thankful of our room being on another wing of building, but thats just personal choice. Enjoyed our stay and will use the Inn Lodge again when ever we visit Portsmouth. The bathroom was basic with bath and shower cutain, but thats just personal taste and if you want luxury then price would be more or pay hotel prices. So no there was nothing we didnt like about the hotel.

Was not that pleased with the room, wallpaper stripped off of walls, rust in bath, rust and mildew around the sink. Stained carpet and arm of chair broke off when my 75 year old mother sat down on it. (They gave us a free breakfast for the last thing). When I complained about the condition of the room was told they have refurbished the ground floor but have not done the top floor yet. When we ate in the bar could not believe the state of the kitchen which we could see from where we were sitting there was rubbish and food all over the floor. When I mentioned this I was told by the Manager that it was always like that on a busy weekend. (We did however note a flurry of people trying to clear it up a few minutes later it took them ages). All together not a pleasant stay .

Once complaints had been rectified it was better. The manager named Alex was excellent when it came to customer relations. Once the problem they are experiencing gets repaired it is a nice hotel.
