if you stay in room 205 don`t expect any sleep. too much noise from outside traffic, needs double glazing. breakfast is continental a choice of corn flakes or muesli for cereals wow, toast crumpets, scotch pancakes, croissants. just what a working man needs before going to work
Islington is a bizarrely expensive neighbourhood for hotels, especially as it isn't very central or close to any major railway stations, so finding a single room at £50 was already good. The room was clean and the staff was friendly. I didn't have breakfast there so I can't say anything about that, but it's nice that it's included.
The room was very small, but this did not bother me, as it was advertised as such. The location isn't bad (safe area), but you it is a bit of a walk to the nearest Tube stations on the major lines (Highbury & Islington or Angel).
decent-sized room, bathroom was good for a "cheap" room. Breakfast was continental rather than cooked, but there was a fair choice of items, and we stuffed ourselves to fuel our day! Good location for gig venue and tube/bus links.
No window in the room, so it was very warm, also the floor was very dusty.
Not much really.
I walked past this hotel twice before I realised it was were I was staying all of the signage reads Tony Miahs Raj Hotel. There was a small piece of paper in the window which said Islington Inn The rooms were dark and oppressive. Breakfast such as it was (it was not really a full continental) was not served till 8am which is not much use for a business customer. The cleaner left their trolley blocking the narrow corridor when they left for the day. More worryingly they also left a full set of keys for all rooms in the hotel on the trolley
It did the job!
No hairdryer in room, but no problems getting one at reception!
Perfect for a one-night stay and for our purposes. The option of crumpets and scotch pancakes at breakfast was lovely!
Floor needed a good vacuum round the edges (it looked quite dusty), but the room was clean enough otherwise.
Laughing about it
It is Tommy Miahs Raj hotel. I wish I'd known. Loads of bad reviews. Probably why they changed the name
very noisy at nights, there always people coming in and out, talking in the corridor at late hours
The stay itself was wonderful, friendly and helpful staff, room cleaned daily. Everything you would expect for the price.
The walls are on the thin side, an could hear the couple next door.
Stairs to the basement room.
Room was very small
Indian themed rooms, very quiet and breakfast very good selection. price is excellant for London and ideal after a music gig
we spent an hour trying to find this hotel, local people only know the hotel as Tommy Myers it appear to be an Indian resturant at some stage
I'm going to stay here again hopefully in October :)
Very comfortanle bed and lobely hot shower
The lift is quite claustrophobic, I used the stairs.
Good position, well connected to the city, cheap, kind staff, clean hotel and cosy rooms
it wasn't mentioned that the budget rooms were actually in the basement with no windows
everything was unfair, from size of room, to the service. The wi-fi was available only at reception.
Not much to say, one or two nice staff, but recently change management, what a mistake to maker.
the new management size of room and the face that the management team openly spoke about splitting rooms to make more rooms, they are already small room, new management, just what to make money and not take the fact that they rely on guests. dining facilities have been stop, coffee machine are the bar not working during my stay, lift backup systems broken which could have resulted in someone being trapped, and the breakfast well no much to be said there. really no much at all.
The shower.The bed was ok.
No Wifi in the room.Tattie. Not at all good value.Room too small. No where to sit.
overall a good clean establishment
the colour of the room G5overall
The comfortable bed
The rather "gurgly" plumbing!
* Helpful & friendly reception. * Close to trendy Islington's bars, cafes, restaurants etc * Easy bus journey to/from the hotel to central london. * Breakfast area makes convenient lounge & WiFi area other times of day * Reasonable complimentary breakfast buffet selection
* Minor annoyance not having WiFi in the rooms * Double rooms would be small for two, but price is very reasonable for London
The heating was excellent.
The single room was very very small.
Poor and dirty
No hot water, nasty accommodation
This place does what it says on the tin. Low cost accommodation with good hot shower, bed and breakfast into the bargain - recommend
The location was good as is was right around the corner from where we needed to go, the reception was 24 hours which was really good
The staff were a bit distant which me and my friend found slightly rude and when we left there was no good bye or thanks for staying so the staff let it down
