“very cheap, and could see it from the train station which was brilliant, nice clean room, friendly staff and good breakfast, not particularly noisy, especially considering how close to the city centre it was. overall definitely worth the price!”

The lack of cleanliness. The lift which took ages to get up three floors. The incessant noise which sounded like a rave right in the middle of our room, meaning that neither of us had a wink of sleep all night. We would have slept easier on a park bench. At breakfast, the coffee cups were stuck to the tray, the knives and forks weren't too clean either. The fornt page of Booking.com on this hotel is completely misleading. It is not clean. All in all the worst hotel I have ever stayed in and I've stayed in a lot.

Its Loction and initial character Its was out of date everything was untidy and needed a good face lift, Our room was mucky the curtains were grubby & did not close and they were too small for the window, The batrhroom door did not latch and the toilet seat was broken, Stains on the doors basis poor and not clean. In the dinning room the seats were stained and needed cleaning, the curtains were grubby. Overall the hotel was like a backpackers hostel , the cost should have been no more than £25 per room with breakfast, rather than £70 that we paid

it was in an ideal location for the city centre and only 10 min walk from the apollo which is where we were going, The staff were friendly enough i had a couple of things i needed in the room and the lady on the reception was more than willing to help. The food was ok but at £5 for a steak i wasn`t about to complain. Not brilliant but all in all for an overnight stay it was adequate. the room was tired and could of done with a lick of paint, and not very clean to be honest i.e hair in the shower but i have been in worse places at least they got the basics right.. The tv only had 2 channels working and it was pretty noisy at night with the trams and traffic but i suppose you expect that in the city. The bar doesn`t open at all in the hotel but theres a hotel next door which the bar is open and it was really nice, good atmosphere.

Extremely near to the main railway station, so it's very convenient. Serves very nice decent dinner and breakfast at the hotel restaurant! Hotel staff are also friendly and helpful. My room smells of smoke, but it can't easily be undone due to the carpeting.

Nicely located next to picadilly, Hotel International could be wonderful, and in a way I don't want to change it. The interior was deeply spooky; dimly lit corridors, walls covered with dead film stars from the past staring with fixed never changing glamour, silent and rather gauntly haunting the old goth in me loved it...but it was spooky, a little too spooky perhaps, especially as I was travelling alone. If the ghosts of Peter Cushing and Vincent Price had come screaming down the corridors at me I would not have been in the least surprised. In a way, I don't want that to ever change; Most Haunted missed a trick if it never visited. The breakfast was nice and the staff very friendly, however... The room was ghastly. Seedy grandeur doesn't quite do it justice. Dark, dim and a little frayed in aspect, the carpet was dark and grimy with marks on, the curtains hanging forlornly as the window offered a view of a brick wall. I noticed the curtain rail was hanging onto the wall for dear life, preparing to fall off in a last act of defiance. The water from the tap tasted foul. The whole room was grimly utilitarian, the television offering only the five terrestrial channels. Not quite a crack den, but close. The showers were shared with the other rooms, four cubicles lit by a single bulb with their plastic curtains rather tatty. It was like the set of a seedy 70s slasher film. I have recommended this hotel only to my goth/metal friends to experience a deeply unsettling atmosphere. In a way I hope it never changes, but I felt deeply relieved to leave the oppressive, heavy and frightening aura of the place.

i booked a double room for one night which costed ONLY £50!! hotel international is a really well designed hotel. there are photos of hollywood celebritys all over the walls it such a quaint place, some people may think the decor is a little outdated but it was right up my street. the price was great for me as im a student and was well within my budget. there is a breakfast included in the price which had great variety with a choice between a fry-up and/or cereal and/or toast. as a vegatarian i had some toast and vegetarian breakfast which was lovely and very satisfying :) the whole hotel is spotless and very clean the rooms were a decent size and very clean and well stocked with a kettle and tea, coffee and milk. overall i was very impressed and already have plans to stop over again for a shopping weekend :) the only fault i could find with this hotel is that it could of done with a mini fridge in the room to store cool drinks or snacks. the beds only have 1 pillow and also my mattress was a little uncomfortable but i think it may just be down to preference as i enjoy an extremely soft mattress

The receptionist was very friendly. It was generally just awful. I felt very depressed when I first went in the room. There wasn't even a bathroom (this was a shared facility down the hall). Polystyrene ceiling tiles, flourescent tube lighing, peeling wallpaper and constant noise from the taxi rank/train station/main road/ trams - which were all right outside the hotel and our window. I'd rather have stayed at home and missed the concert.

Location is just at the center of the city. About 50m far from Picadily station Manchester. Very cheap accommodation comparing to other hotels in the area and very good breakfast included! Services and room were standard. You got what you pay! Rooms are very same as on the pictures. Cleaning every day.

It's very close to the train station that links to everything else! Busses, Metrolink trams to move around and convenience to get to the airport! Also good walking distance to nearby restaurants and shopping area. The room did not look anything like in the brochure! Bathroom wasn't clean, and there was no hook to even hang towels with. And the front desk staff was very cold. The restaurant staff didn't even ask me what I wanted to eat after I arrived for breakfast, but bothered to ask two guests who arrived minutes after me, what they wanted to eat. Being a foreigner, I thought the price was in the affordable range until I saw the room! And then discovered, there's a hotel next door (better looking) advertised in broad daylight a rate half of mine! Bad deal!

Amazing value for money, toilets/shower are always literally across from your room a few steps away. Very, very clean (cleaner than most luxury hotels!), nice comfortable bed. Lovely friendly staff, brilliant choice at breakfast of cereals, toast and a full cooked breakfast aswell, coffee, tea, orange juice etc. Able to store luggage there before and after check out if want to explore the city. Laid back, helpful attitude from staff. Wardrobe/cupboard space, bedside table. We've stayed there twice now and it's such good value, wonderful! Telly frozen on a few channels and only had bbc, itv, 4 and bbc3 but really good anyway considering the price! Also not a good view but once again what else can you expect! It's so cheap you don't care!

The hotel is very close to Manchester Piccadilly station and is walking distance to all the city centre shops, pubs, and clubs. The lady on reception when we arrived was very friendly and happy to answer any queries. The bed linen and towels looked clean. The entrance to the hotel could almost be described as 'shabby chic'. The room needed a serious overhaul, including painting, re-grouting, and boxing in the large black sewage waste pipe which ran down the middle of our room! Found a sock under the bed when we were packing to leave which didn't belong to us, so can only assume it had been left by the previous occupant :o( Woman working in the restaurant at breakfast was pleasant enough but she could do with taking a course in hospitality as she ignored us and continued to watch television (must have been her favourate show) until we had identified a table ourselves and sat down. Breakfast was very much what you would expect from a greasy cafe and restaurant had an institutional or hostel feel about it. But saying that the place was very cheap and we had fairly low expectations. If I was skint and needed somewhere to stay in Manchester I would stay again.

Located in central Manchester opposite one of the entrances to Manchester Piccadilly station, so around £35 for a room (with shared toilet and shower) for the night with breakfast and Wi-Fi included was a bargain. I just needed to catch an early morning train to the airport, so this hotel suited my needs well. A lift is available. The first thing I saw as I entered the room was the sink, the rather plain walls and a lack of natural light asthe window looked out onto a duct with water pipe, so the first impression was that of a spacious prison cell. Drawing the curtains dealt with the ugly view, and I only planned to come back to the room to sleep at night. There was a large window above the room's door which let in rather a lot of light from the corridor at night, and noise did carry in when people passed by outside. The noise was not frequent though and the bed was comfortable, so I managed to sleep all right. Wi-Fi signal in my room was generally weak, but it was strong in the lounge area on my floor. There were some comfortable sofas there and it was empty, so I was able to use my laptop in peace.
