the hotel room was disgusting, dirty, damp, drafty window, could hear taxi drivers talking all night.the bed was not even made when entered the room, dirty covers, one pillow, cups had been drunk out of, plug socket was smashed, tv didnt work, as for the seperate shower/toilet it were disgusting, totally un satisfied, will never even contemplate staying there again, would rather sleep in a dogs bed than there!! the place should be shut down, burnt to the ground, highly recomend if you plan on staying here, DONT!! its AWFUL!!

A dump, just like faulty towers

Toilet seat falling off, rooms small and old fashioned. Hotel is about to be knocked down.

Nothing it is a run down dump and the photos that booking.com advertise are nothing like the hotel.

The hotel was run down state that was to close down 3 weeks after our stay. The manager was rude and abrupt when we said we would not stay in his hotel. And even though we decided not to stay in the hotel he threatend to charge us for one night. This statement is absolutely true. And it is init is appaulling that this hotel is even advetised in the state it was in.

it was very cheap and central

rooms were very basic. no ensuite. rooms were cold. we were told breakfast finished at 11.15 on arrival to be told the following day at 11.05 that breakfast finished at 11 and were refused breakfast.

The staff were super helpful and the hotel was in a fantastic site for the shops and bars

Coffee at breakfast was lukewarm

Location beside Piccadilly train station very handy. Good cheap spot to stay for lads visiting Manchester for football and beer.

Bar is being renovated, so no hotel bar for our stay.

Dated decor and uncomfortable beds. Understand the hotel will shut soon, but otherwise in serious need of investment.

On the TV - "Local news" was from the Channel Islands - very strange ! It was basic and in need of refurbisment but price was good for a quick stop over

We had an office very close out the window so we had to keep curtains closed all the time. A frosted window or venetian blind might have been good to let some light in.

Friendly staff, a good breakfast and it's proximity to Piccadilly Station

We had to ask for a bedside lamp for one room and tea and coffee making facilities for the other

There were hardly any good points to recommend the hotel other than it's proximity to the station

Pretty much everything about the room we had was very poor .I wouldn't stay there again if it was free.

The condition of the public areas and rooms is nothing short of disgaceful. Shabby doesn't even begin to describe the place. It looks as though it hasn't had a penny spent on it in decades.The price isn't even a mitigating factor. Any more than £25 for a double room should be considered overpriced!

Lovely old building with vintage decor. Looks as if it hasn't been refurbished since 1973 but that kind of adds to it's charm. And of course you're not paying for any chic. TV only has 3 channels, only very basic toiletries are supplied, and you may want to bring your own clothes hangers, iron and haridryer. Excellent location for Piccadilly station, clubs, gig venues, shopping areas, etc.

No veggie option at breakfast and no mushrooms!!!! Dirty linen left dumped at the top of the stairs early in the evening was still there in the morning. A little off-putting when going down for breakfast.

Great location next to Piccadilly station. Pretty much what I expected given the price. Staff were really friendly. Would stay there again.

Reviews said it was noisy on weekends. I stayed on a Thursday and it was fine, but I could see how it might get rowdy on the weekend.

exceptionally loud nusic from night club below hotel on Friday night resulting in no sleep and feeling totally shattered all day Saturday

it was stumbling distance from town and the staff where very nice to me specially when i was hungover.

City centre location; Close to the main Railway Station, Buses, Metro tram and Taxis. Close to the Shops and restaurants. Character hotel; fantastic staircase and Victorian ambience.

No bar! Dry-rot in the window sill. Creaking floors.
