i misplaced my key on the first night, and no one would answer the door so i was stuck outside in the freezing cold with no where to go, on my own, and had to stay on a strangers couch that night. if im paying for a 3 nights, i expect to actually be able to stay there for 3 nights |

Nothing Plenty, the smallest and far from clean room I have ever stayed in, which was far too overpriced |

The staff were friendly and welcoming. I originally booked two nights but had to stay in the guest house next door for one night as I was told there were plumbing problems in my room. The Alexander was fine but The International was better quality and I would have liked my whole stay there. However, the owner made the effort to arrange alternative accomodation and was very apologetic at the inconvenience. All in all a good experience. |

There was nothing to complain about really, the rooms were cleaned every day, new towels every day, flat screen TV, kind staff. The Internet connection was low in the upper stories but for free. |

The staff was very helpful, we arrived later than 11 p.m., what is check-in time and it was no problem for them to accomodate us (of course we informed them about our later arrival before). The room was very nice and big (for 3 people) and the breakfast was delicious. Everything was clean and comfortable. The equipment in the bathroom was little older. |

The staff are very friendly. Its not too far from city centre, 15mins walking or you can take buses near the guest house which come very often. The full Scottish breakfast is yummy. The room is cleaned everyday. I was very lucky, I booked single room but somehow I got family room which is quite big and comfortable. |

The staff were very friendly, attentive and helpful. The room I stayed was classified as luxury single. It was by no means luxury. The room was tiny and very cheaply furnished. As a cheap B&B the accommodation was adequate, but it was not cheap. The staff were friendly and the service was good but a rethink on decor and pricing is in order. |

convenient location on a good bus route into the city Not enough parking - we had to park on the street; decor was superficial and poorly finished; breakfast was a joke with the cheapest possible ingredients badly cooked. Uncomfortable bed and poor quality bed linen. Very high price. Overall we couldn't wait to get out. |

In good quiet location with excellent bus service to city centre. Very clean. Good breakfast. Good sized double room. A little dated and a bit eccentric with the decor. Our room had very small bathroom with tempermental shower. |

We stayed in the bungalow. This is about 3km south of the guest house. Location is perfect -- city buses out the front door, rural out the back. View is great in all directions. Roomy, clean and comfortable with very nice private garden. Staff very friendly and helpful. Internet service, even if by extra charge, would make this a perfect base for an Edinburgh visit. Hot water is erratic. A clothes dryer would be a welcome addition (Edinburgh is always rainy). There was spoiled food in refrigerator when we arrived. |

Friendly hosts. Room quiet and with a view over Arthur's Seat. Nice breakfast room. Position is close to the center and well linked by bus. Bathroom needs some improvements. |

Everything was perfect: nice couple welcoming you...you feel like home. The room had a lot of space, the breakfast is excellent...I'll definitely go back in this hotel. Bus stop just accross the road allows you to go to the city center in 10 minutes The only thing I would say is the time for breeakfast, only from 8 to 9, which is quite short if you have to catch an early bus or want to sleep a little more on a sunday morning. But the excellent breakfast is really worth it! |

The bungalow was clean, spacious and had wonderful views of Edinburgh's lowlands. My two friends and I each had our own rooms with great views. Sunroom, kitchen, living room and bathroom were all modern and above our expectations. The hotel's bungalow was a little bit further from the city center than we expected, but the bus isn't bad and the tickets are affordable. |

Huge sunny room, very friendly staff Perhaps have the option to have breakfast at 10:00, instead of between 8:00-9:00. Nice to sleep in on weekends |

we liked the cleanliness of the room and breakfast was good. good bus service to city centre. we were not given the room we had booked. we had booked a specific room with great views and a luxury en suite. when we asked for this room we were told we could not have it. we were very disapointed. the bed was lumpy but at least ireland won rugby. |

I received an e-mail from the owner confirming booking. This was really nice as I then knew they were expecting me. The owners were very friendly and kind. The rooms are lovely and we found the guest house quiet unlike the larger hotels where guests pass your rooms noisily at night. |
