Room was very clean, fresh and well furnished with all the facilities you need for a comfortable stay in Derby. The bathroom was clean and well equipped. We received a pleasant greeting and were issued with free wifi codes on our entry, the literature in the room contained everything you need to know or places to visit which was very impressive. The breakfast in the morning included in the price was fabulous! Best cooked breakfast we have had in a long time and full compliments to the chef, who was consistently checking it. All in all in our opinion a lovely stay for a great price!
The rooms were lovely nice n modern n clean wiv a good size tv on wall n very friendly people in hotel n bar next door
The breakfast was cold n not good quality be better if u ordered n got it fresh
It was a good hotel in an excellent location in Derby not far from the centre. The room facilities were very good for the price. The room was warm, the bed was comfy and the shower was hot in the morning. The receptionist was very bubbly and made check-in a pleasure.
The dining room staff in the morning for breakfast did not look too happy with their job at all! Also, we were in a room on the1st floor which had the kitchen extractor fan on the outside wall. It sounded like a washing machine on a spin cycle up until midnight when it stopped and then it started again at 6am the following morning! Needless to say we did not get a good nights sleep. We did report it to reception and were told that it should not have been on at that time!
Everything If you want to stay in out of town hotel, stay in a 70's deco hotel then stay here
Good value for money Large spacious room, clean and well furnished Free parking available
No hairdryer or ironing facilities available Dietary requirements not catered for as specified on booking
Nice spacious room and nice big bathroom love spa bath with the suite and all very clean
Decor was very dated and so was the furniture asked to use iron the iron was in poor condition along with the ironing board Fault with Central heating was permanently on room was baking hot complained and knock money off the room rate
Very loud Restaurant extraction system outside my room, running full power till midnight - I phoned to complain , was told it would cease midnight at earliest and longer if restaurant busy!!! ie put up with it. Then it restarted waking me at 6 am !! Went to work very tired and annoyed at their attitude.
Stayed over night as I was visiting friends, absolutely brilliant staff who were very helpful. Clean and tidy room with all the necessities and a guide of what was around. We got back to the hotel late which wasn't a problem because there is always someone around. Would highly recommend and will definitely be staying again.
The bed , the steep slope into carpark, the state of the place the ceilings all with leaks and parts missing, the hand rails on stairs loose, the bed was so hard and all the linen towels etc very tired
beds too narrow for above average people
Nothing like the website complete lies
Room had a stale smell as did the pillows and duvet Biscuits under bed! Very noisy disco, we were on the second floor and couldn't sleep due to noise at 1.30am! Breakfast was cold, staff unhelpful
big breakfast buffet
parking at rear of hotel was very steep and could possibly pose a problem
Rooms recently decorated & tidy. comfortable beds and quiet overnight. Lots of hot water and good TV reception. Free parking. Reasonable pricing.
We booked for two doubles and were given a double and a family room. We could have easily fitted into the family room and saved some money. No food facilities.
We've received a partial refund for our bad experience. However, I wouldn't come back to this Hotel and I do not recommend this hotel to other guests.
During our stay there was a wedding party going on in the function room at the lower ground floor which made it impossible for us to sleep. The music was extremely loud so we complained at the reception at 10.30 PM. Although the reception staff told us that the party should stop by 12 it went on until 3.30 AM! The staff also told us that they do not have anything to do with the function room as the functions are hold by a different company so they said they cannot really do anything about the music! The breakfast next morning was disgusting! The baked beans were cold, the sausages tasted like fat only and overall the whole food was so salty that we couldn't eat any of it. So we were going to have muesli instead but there no clean bowles! So we had a few slices of toast with jam. When we asked for more toast we got 2 more half slices! Coffee was empty so we asked for more but the staff forgot our request so we went back to our room ourselves and got some sachets of coffee.
Convenient and a fair price for where I was going ,
Noise late at night ! Downstairs toilet very dirty paper all over floor.
Whole hotel needs maintenance, the room was clean and reasonably comfortable for the price but the general condition is shabby and tired, especially the lift. Breakfast room has a leaking ceiling and although the food was reasonable the service was virtually non existent. Have never stayed in a hotel where we have to clear someone else's breakfast things and lay our own table before we could eat. There was a wedding party in the hotel on Saturday night, there was no consideration for other guests as revellers were running amok at 2-3am .We will definitely not be returning guests.
Staff very good, this motel is undergoing a much needed refurbishment, as it is a dated establishment Room was very clean, bed comfortable my room had been refurbished recently
Wifi did not work on 2nd floor
comfy bed, room facilities good i.e. iron in room.
being a returning guest I was disappointed with the drop in standard, whole hotel & room needs maintenance, not a good idea to sub-let bar & restaurant, breakfast room now in ball room with leaking ceiling resulting in wet chairs resulting in wet trousers !!!! also no control over noisey guests running amock at 2-3am even after personnel requesting they quietened down & then informing reception still noise continued !!! far to say I will not be returning.
We were given one of the refurbished rooms which was lovely. Reception staff on arrival very helpful and professional.
Out of our window looked like an ashtray and we saw staff throwing cigarette ends onto the flat roof, considering the smoking policy for guests we thought it was not acceptable. The hot breakfast was a contradiction of terms as it was so cold it was inedible and although there were other alternatives part of our stay was to enjoy a good breakfast. We disliked the fact that there was no lounge open to relax and read before setting off for the day or on returning. We appreciated that a lot of work was going on but found the break a chore rather than a pleasure.Having stayed in the International many times a long time ago we realise that you should never go back. Due to the problems we encountered we cut our losses and left a day early.
Cheap prices. On site indian restaurant. Breakfast. Free parking
Uncomfortable bed. Noisy wedding party. Mouldy bathroom. Old tired communal areas
Mattress too firm for me.
We used the adjoining Asian sports bar/restaurant. Very helpful and excellent service looking after my younger son and giving us a quiet corner ro sit and dine where I could still watch the football game on Sky tv and he could eat his chips!!
Breakfast service needs some improvements. A good attempt at at a hot & cold buffet, unfortunately cooked food was in silver trays on stands that were heated underneath with small candle burners. There didn't seem to be enough so the cook had to keep swapping them around so all the sausages, bacon, etc were only luke warm. Also a huge skip right outside the breakfast room window full of food waste from previous nights function
