Steve and Vicki are very welcoming hosts and know all the good spots to see and eat. The hop-on-hop-off bus stops outside their B&B which makes it great to get to from the station and even better with a day ticket to see all the great spots and take the brilliant walks in the area.

Beautiful, very clean room, we stayed in the superior double and the beautiful oak furniture and large ensuite added to our weekend and were very welcoming when returning after a long tiring day walking!! Steve and Victoria were helpful and considerate to our needs and provided a lopvely breakfast too!! About a 15 minute walk into Bowness town and Lake Windermere. Plenty of lovely restaurants and nice pubs, be prepared to put on a few pounds!!

location was perfect, close to lake windermere but away from the crowds. Room was spotless and furnished comfortably and tastefully with a lovely peaceful outlook. The owners, Steve and Vicky worked hard to see that our stay was memorable and provided guests with added little extras like homemade cake in the afternoon left in our room for when we got home. The local eating houses were plentiful and all served outstanding food at a very reasonable price, we particularly enjoyed Jacksons bistro located in Bowness, just a short stroll away from home. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

where to start....We were met by Steve, the proprietor, then shown the breafast room then our bedroom. Everything was spotless from entering the house to the bedroom. The whole building gave a warm ambience. The bedroom we stayed in was bright, airy and very spacious. We were welcomed with home made ginger cake and a selection of biscuits. Both which were restocked on a dialy basis and added a nice personal touch. The bathroom is 'huge' by normal standards and comprimsed of modern loo, sink and shower. There was a stock of liquid soap, shower gel and shampoo, which was great because i forgot my shampoo! Within the breakfast room is a selection of games and books which could be used at our disposal. Walking books were available and were taken with us on many an adventure. All that was asked was for them to be returned at the end of our stay. The breakfast was a selection of cereals, one choice of fruit (grapefruit) and one fruit juice (orange). However this was then complimented with a menu offering fried or specific items such as a full english or bacon butty etc. There was also toast and Vicky's (Steve's wife) homemade strawberry jam and marmalade. Steve was very attentative and set out to achieve all requirements upon request. Both he and Vicky have a superb warm friendly guest house and aim to meet the needs of all. It was our 1st time there and would not hesitate to go back.

Many thanks for the hospitality of Steve and Vicky. The room is very clean, pleasant and comfortable. View from the large window is lovely. Homemade cake is delicious and self-designed guidebook is informative. The Cumbrian Grill for the breakfast is one of the best I've ever had in various B&B. Seeing that we've got heavy luggage, Steve even offered to give us a free ride to the train station after check-out. Highly recommended to all. Discount will be offered to returned guests. We'll be back!!

The owners Steve and Vicky are lovely people, very friendly and always willing to help with ideas. The guesthouse is in a perfect location between Bowness and Windermere with a 10 minute walk into town for all the restaurants and pubs. The guesthouse is very small but works to its advantage and the rooms are beautifully clean and tidy and the cake (made by vicky) was left in the room each day and was a lovely treat after a busy day. 100% recommend this guesthouse

My boyfriend & I stayed here for a romantic weekend away. The owners were very friendly & hospitable. The room was very clean & comfortable. As part of the price of the room we were entitled to breakfast the following morning, I personally recommend the full english, everything is locally sourced & organic. It was delicious! We would definitely stay again!

Room was small, but very comfortable. As I am very tall, small rooms can be cramped, but this did not feel so. The hospitality of the owners Steve and Victoria was exemplary, a very friendly couple who went out of their way to make our stay as memorable as possible, from picking us up from the train station, to their recommendations on what to do around the area, and the fantastic breakfast which set us up for each day. Would heartily recommend a stay with these lovely people, and will definitely call back when we are in the area again.

We stayed in the Garden Suite which is seperate from the house and nice and private, the bed was huge and so comfortable, had a lovely nights sleep! It also has its own little conservatory which we had our breakfast served in. Steve and Victoria were really pleasant without being intrusive. Homemade ginger cake on arrival was a lovely touch. Also liked that we could get into the room quite early, they say 12 o'clock but when i rang to confirm said the room would be ready from 11.30. We only stayed one night but would like to return again. My only small niggle is the folding door into the en-suite, bit awkward to click shut, would be lots easier with a sliding or bi-fold door but as i said that's just a small thing.

The whole environment is inviting. When you first come into the house, you could find you just come back to home rather than a completely strange place. Thanks for the landlord's warmheart and the excellent cooking skills, my friend and I really enjoyed a yummy British breakfast.

This hotel is very very good: clean, romantic, warm feeling. The host couple are very very nice, enthusiastic, friendly, hospitable. We are Chinese couple. We recommond u to choose this hotel to feel the UK's family feeling. At least we will. By the way, my wife really like your ginger cake. And we are thankful for carring us to the railstation.

“The people were very welcoming and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast each morning and were very comfortable in our room. The small bar was also very nice and we had a lovely chat with the owners. The hotel was very quiet and relaxing. I especially enjoyed a relaxing swim in the pool all by myself. Car parking was no problem at all and it was a lovely walk down into Bowness (only 1 mile) where we took a boat trip to Ambleside.” Eileen, Ashington |
