It is centrally located, very well heated throughout the night, the shower is excellent, and the breakfast is really good too. Kettle and hair dryer in the room, and we got an iron too when we asked for it. Really helpful staff members.
As they say, wifi is only available in "some" rooms. We only had wifi in one corner of the room, so we had to stand there if we wanted to use it. If you are a bad sleeper, you can get annoyed by the street noise (cars) because of the main road. (And we forgot our earplugs at home...).
We liked everything from the the moment we got there.Lovely open fire in the attached pub, friendly staff, nice room great wifi Nice breakfast.10 minute walk to city centre we will be making another booking very soon
No complaints what so ever
There is no reception in the hotel, you have to go to the bar and ask. No private parking, but a near public free one (just across the street)
Friendly staff, clean warm room, bar next door. walking distance to downtown Derry.
No onsite parking, street parking restricted, but public car park not too far.
Location excellent accommodation basic but comfortable good value for money. Lots of channels on TV in room. Tea and coffee making facilities perfect for a short break
No shelf in the shower
Very comfortable and friendly staff home away from home would stay again
There was nothing that we don't like
the staff in the hotel and bar where lovely and couldn't do enough for you rooms where cleaned daily the price was great and location spot on for city centre
having to come home derry
Staff were lovely for wat we paid it was perfect for a girly weekend.
The staff wer very friendly. The room was lovely and big which was fab as we traveled we three small children. I wud for sure stay here again.
The room wasn't dirty as such, but found cigarette papers in the draw, sweet wrappers and a drinks bottle behind the couch.
The personnel were very friendly and did their best to be helpful in a very sincere way. If you're ok with simple facilities its fine. I had a nice room, that was quiet and it felt very quickly like I was almost part of the family. The pub downstairs is nice "traditional" type if you like that. It was only a 10' walk fr old-walled city where I needed to be daily - and was convenient. The breakfast was personally made to order for each client (and not just a buffet). the towels were clean and the bed was made daily (I spent 4 nites) - they even put out some special biscuits (cookies) for me each nite. All in all, for me it was a Good place to stay for moderate priced facilities and a good breakfast and a quiet place to retire when I got in after a long day. If simple/modest is ok w/ you - you have a really good deal.
the bathroom/shower room was a bit...antiquated but the shower worked fine and i'm always grateful for working hot water. like many "economic" old european hotels - heat is turned very down - like at 10pm and stays down (or off) till like 7pm. just be ready if you're not used to it.
We always stay at the Iona Inn because of the friendly staff and the atmosphere in their pub next door. Always get a good nights sleep and 1st class breakfast. Iona Inn is so handy to train station and city centre.
The staff and bedroom were lovely.
When we arrived we had to wait in the bar for someone to attend to us. The bathroom badly needed refurbishment, it was mouldy and smelly.
Good location for my purpose of the entertainment club i was visiting. 10 mins walk to other end of Craigavon Bridge.
Shower could do with a few repairs.
great value for money. just a short 5 min walk away from the city centre. rooms are well heated.
Shower not working in one of the rooms we booked(Room #4). We informed the staff and were told "Pay first, and we will contact you via email to let you know if we can refund you". Still waiting for "that" email or a refund...
great service, nice attitude, perfect breakfast especially!
Derry has some of the friendliest people iv ever met. Def recommend to anyone to visit and stay in iona hotel.
A bit noisy in the morning with traffic but not too bad
uncomfortable beds, worst mattresses ever
Great value and a great location just across the bridge from the the city
This place is in a brilliant location, excellent Breakfast and lovely Staff. I would stay again :)
Nothing (Except the Lady was a Liverpool fan ;) )
Staff were super friendly and extremely helpful
One of the beds was broken, no back support in the middle of the bed.
The breakfast was lovely The Staff were friendly The value for money was excellent
Beds arn't the most comfortable but for £35 a night you cant complain
The price was reasonable for this property and the breakfast was nice
Parking could be an issue but was not at this time
Nice and clean with tea coffee making facilities plus biscuits in the room ;-) Helpful staff. Price included breakfast (choice of cereals, croissants, yoghurts, juices, hot food). Just over the bridge from the centre of the city.
