What a wonderful B&B. Shelagh was so welcoming and helpful. We stayed in the Santon room which was very spacious and comfortable. We will certainly be returning in the future and will recommend to others.
There wasn't anything to dislike.
Room, Facilities, location and breakfast all excellent.
Irt Valley View was spotlessly clean and comfortable, beautifully presented, with so many little extra touches. The owners were such fun and helpful with places to visit and eat. We felt instantly comfortable in every respect
This is a wonderful little hidden treasure within the lake district and I couldn't recommend it highly enough. Shelagh and David made us both feel very welcome and the room and facilities were exceptional. The bath in the king room is amazing well worth a soak after a long gruelling hike.
Everything was wondeful. The host was very attentive to our needs. She made us very welcome. A real home from home. It was like visiting a long time friend. The breakfast was beautifullly cooked, there was just the right amount on the plate. Would definately visit again.
There was nothing not to like.
The location/quietness and the room was excellent.
Shelagh is a very welcoming and friendly host and she runs a b&b in a really great location. She provided a complementary drink on our arrival, and prepared lovely breakfasts with homemade bread. Very comfortable room. Hope to return soon.
Ideally, I'd have liked the kitchen to be available for guests to use.
friendliness and comfort of the facility are second to none. Shelagh was a wonderful host and nothing was too much trouble.
No complaints at all
Shelagh is a very good host The B&B is very tastefully decorated, comfortable, lots of books, videos to watch available, dining and living area is really nicely done. Very creative remodelling of the building. Breakfast is very quality, with a variety of choices and plenty available Very good location, close to Wastwater Lake but also near major roads, good for reaching other parts of Lake District
Sound carries in building. We were on our own, so it didn't affect us.
Arriving late at night after a very long journey we were warmly greeted by David and instantly felt at home. The night cap & homemade cake was very much appreciated! Accommodation & breakfast were first class. Shelagh was an excellent host. An ideal base for climbing Scafell Pike. Hope to return.
Irt Valley View is a gem! Nestled away down a little lane but with easy acess to the main road. Lovely views, relaxed atmosphere prefect place to chill after a hectic day working at Sellafield or enjoying your holiday. Breakfast delicious, accommodation spotless, fresh and airy, hospitality second to none. Brilliant!
Leaving! Can't wait to take my family they'll love it.
Lovely setting with nice large room nicely finished, very friendly welcome and one of the best Cumbrian breakfast you will eat whilst watching the red squirrel eat the bird food!
A unique place to stay being independent of the owners house and having its own double aspect and comfortably furnised breakfast and sitting room opening onto a private garden area. Plus; great breakfast and a very friendly hostess. Good quality pub and bistro food on the doorstep.
Fantastic B&B. The room was spacious and the bed extremely comfortable. The landlady was extremely welcoming and Went the extra mike to make our stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Great bed, lovely bathroom with roll top bath and walk in shower. Lovely location and while we were there, perfect for a walk down to the river to share a glass of wine on a beautiful summer evening. Lovely breakfast made even better by home made toast each morning and seeing a red squirrel enjoying his breakfast in the garden one morning.
The friendly welcome from shelagh. The location was great, close to the scenic wast water/ scafell pike and also the coast. Room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was really nice, nothing was too much trouble.
The best B&B ever! The rooms were exceptionally comfortable; the additional thoughtful services like tea and 'night cap', Shelagh and David's wonderful hospitality just made the two nights stay better than ever! Breakfast was extremely enjoyable with the unforgettable home made toasts! This is definitely the place I will come back again and recommend to anyone who's asking for a memorable stay in the beautiful lake district area. It was just too bad we missed out on the red squirrels.. ;)
Breakfast was fantastic, host was first class, spacious accommodation, local hotel food was excellent with massive amounts. Added extras like night cap much appreciated
Accomodation excellent,breakfast best ever,hospitality amazing
Nothing to dislike
The attention to detail was exceptional, Shelagh really went out of her way to make sure we had everything we need including booking us a table at the local but which served an excellence meal. As we were staying the night before a long cycle ride she made sure we would have everything we needed for a 5am start , and also made us sandwiches to take with us. Shelagh is an exceptional host and it is clear Irt Valley is more than just a business to her.
Really comfortable stay - Shelagh was very welcoming. Nice peaceful location at the edge of the national park, with the beach only a few minutes away and a shortish drive in to the western fells (Eskdale, Wasdale etc.). The accommodation was really excellent including a spacious, comfortable living/breakfast room which I was lucky enough to have to myself during my stay.
The size of the room and facilities with two sofas and a fabulouis bathroom. Also the nightcaps that were left and the "proper"coffee
It was home from home
Everything - the setting, the welcome when I arrived, the very comfortable room(s), the superb breakfast. Quite possibly the best B&B I have ever stayed in!
Definitely one of the best B&B's we have ever stayed in. Shelagh and David were very welcoming hosts and couldn't do enough for us! The double room we stayed in was very spacious and comfortable. The added extras like the tea tray with home made cakes and the "night cap" were an added bonus. It was worth every penny we paid and more. The breakfast was excellent and certainly set us up for a day's walking in this beautiful area. When we left after our two night stay, it was like leaving old friends. We will most definitely be returning.
Can't find anything negative to say!!!!
This is a lovely, clean B&B, which is well run by hospitable hosts who go the extra mile to make your stay enjoyable and provide extra touches to make you feel at home. The views and location are fabulous, very quiet and peaceful. If you travel as a party of four or six you will be lucky enough to have the accommodation to yourself and the owners live next door. There was a huge range of food available for breakfast from the full English to fruit and yogurt, all freshly cooked and prepared to order. We hope to stay there again soon. Thank you Shelagh.
