Irvine Lodge  

Very easy to find, and staff very helpful and friendly :-) Great value for money.

it was clean and tidy. the owner is very friendly. she made sure an extra heater was put in the room due the it getting colder.

Poor breakfast and security light over room door made sleeping difficult.

I liked the fact I didn't have to deal with any staff , having said that if something went wrong I may have had a different opinion. As it was , I was called from a lady called Pat who I presume was the owner, she gave me the entry code and instructions about my key etc. I was in Irvine for my daughters party night which was nearby. I enjoyed not having to get a taxi and the walk was just couple minutes away. The room was comfortable and spotlessly clean. Tea coffee etc supplied and decent towels. For the price it was excellent No complaints.

Thought the communal kitchen was a bit odd in a hallway with the pidgeon hole set up for details of any breakfast although it seemed functional and sufficient. I didn't order breakfast so can't comment. There was porridge sachet in the room.

It was great value. The checking in process, which was carried out over the phone, was very straight forward. The room was clean and everything worked. The hotel was well placed and there was parking nearby.

very compact. 1 room didnt have a curtain over the door because it was a frosted glass door but the street light shone through the glass which at night was incovienient, 2 rooms didnt have wardrobes in and only had a rail to hang things on (very compact) booked breakfast but when we arrived they said they didnt do them anymore, and refunded the money walls very thin

Value for money regarding the room, very comfortable and clean enjoyed the proximity to town and the coast.

All this would have been greatly enhanced had the breakfast been just acceptable. we booked three days x two breakfasts day one breakfast conisted of a packet of crisps and an apple for room 7. and Room 5 paket choc croissant and fruit milk and yogurt was available in fridge We asked if we could cancel the breakfast, or at least have bread roll and butter. The receprtion said was too late to cancel as we booked through an agency. So we expected breakfast the next day. No breakfast in pidgeon holes for our rooms. I called the off site number and was told breakfast had been cancelled for us. But on following day and back in london when checking my card we had been charged £30 for breakfast, Poor service and actually charged for what we didn't have is not acceptable. Have no idea how to claim back money as no conatct details So will not be using Irvine Lodge or this booking agency again.

It was unmanned. No staff about at all. Have a huge list of complaints. It was advertised as having on site parking this was on the street at the back of the hotel?

The price was good and the location ideal.

Unfortunately there were no staff on site for the duration of the stay and the breakfast was below the standard i would expect from a budget b&b.

It's the fact that they didn't ha ve my reservation.. Even if I booked few weekend before.. So I just have been lucky that they still have a room.... Additionally i didn't rimember to have seen anywhere specified that the breakfast was just a continental one and that there are no towels in the room

This is my 2 time at this lodge as is very good value for money as clean and comfortable will go back for a weekend holidays...

Staff exceptionally helpful

Room was near the back door, which kept slamming all night. Also a communal corridor/kitchen area outside room which was noisy with other guests most of the night.

Very basic room but clean, good shower, comfortable bed. Ok for the price.

No staff, you telephone for the access code. One towel between two people. No indication of breakfast arrangements, best to have it elsewhere I suspect.

Central location

Nice room, it was clean and misses nothing. And it was very cheap.

Next morning when would check out there was no staff, not in the information or we couldn`t reach anyone on the phone.

Not enough coffee provided, no soap and poor breakfast

I didn't expect much for the price but I was very pleasantly surprised when I entered the room . Very comfortable , friendly staff , tea and coffee provided , En-suite etc. Two colleagues also stayed there at the same time and were both equally impressed in fact we all commented on it . I'll keep the number and will certainly stay there if I'm within 30 miles . I've stayed in 5 star hotels all over the uk and indeed worldwide costing upwards of six times the price and not slept as well!

It could do with a chair in the room.

Absence de personnel (je n'ai vu personne !) et n'ai même pas pu régler ma nuit Chambre minuscule et avec peu d'équipement

La literie

La réservation faite pour des lits jumeaux, la chambre avec un grand lit. Le petit déjeuner à 5£ composé de céréales, d'une petite brioche emballée, d'un yaourt et d'un fruit. Pour des gens ne mangeant pas de céréales, aucun choix possible. Le prélèvement du paiement par le biais du numéro de carte de réservation, pas en direct sur les lieux.

Le bruit à la sortie du bar à côté de l'hôtel pour la chambre située au rez de chaussée...
