We liked the location, view, room, staff, breakfast and spa.
It would have been nice if the spa had opened earlier in the morning and later in the evening.
Easy access to Ferry and main roads, Hot buffet Breakfast excellent. Freindly staff.
Not told that we could order from the breakfast menu at no additional cost, we only found out when another couple asked. No beans with the breakfast !!
The hotel is restful with many and varied seating areas to choose from both inside and out, food to die for in their 6 course taster menu , superbly attentive staff and comfortable beds in impecably clean rooms. The views are incredible from most rooms in the hotel.
When we visited we found the WIFI so slow it was almost non existent, the hot tub was broken and the foot spas were also out of action. Considering we had booked a spa break this was particularly disappointing.
We were pleasantly surprised how good the food at this hotel was. The seafood and venison were excellent! Great ambience in the hotel, very relaxed and friendly.
Decor needs a little tlc!
Location (good to catch the bus and the ferry); Garden and pathway to the beach and to a spooky bay with a "phantom" ship; The sea and garden view from the room, where you could listen to the birds (even good when raining); The traditional plaids good to wrap yourself while filing the place with the open window; The old photos in the hotel walls.
We could not have a proper shower in the morning: first the water was too cold and after too hot, and even when we change the water temperature in the tap, the real water temperature maintain... As we were in a hurry to catch the bus, we have no time to ask help (it was also too early in the morning, and I also think there were no one in the reception at that hour). The building is not a charming one.
Clean rooms, good breakfast, near ferry terminal.
Hotel does not have much charm, long walkways. I somehow felt like being on a ferry.
Swimming pool Spa Food
Dogs allowed Not very Scottish
great views over the sea swimming pool restaurant excellent great staff
Decor was a bit dated. showers good do with updating
Location was amazing and the outdoor hot tub was lovely although gardens around it were not looked after so you could not see the view.
Rooms very old and windows almost fell apart when opened. Staff ignored you and not many spoke English. No local Ales and little choice. Disapointing
Door lock faulty and obvious previous attempt to gain access with damaged door jamb.
Friendly and genuine staff makes for such a lovely stay. Rooms clean with stunning views, food at bar tasty and decent value.
In places the hotel's feeling a little tired and jaded, particularly some of the communal areas in need of some tlc to spruce up.
The lounge area was nice, with good views out to sea. Breakfast and the staff on breakfast were very good
Reception staff were very unhelpful. The wifi was extremely poor. The place was full of people on bus tours. An Ok place to stay if there is nothing else.
Atmosphere, views, food, staff very helpful, hardworking and considerate. Spa facilities.
general, (not hotel specific):getting to and from ferry as more senior foot passengers with heavy luggage. Very curt and unhelpful attitude at tourist information when asking if we could get a taxi, no help with bus times as alternative.
Staff Swimming pool
breakfast was available to 9,30 the 2 shortbread biscuits on arrival
breakfast buffet was very greasy. the dinner and breakfast menus were confusing as to what was included and what was extra. the night we ate dinner different sea foods were unavailable so why are they on the menu? wifi in the room would be really nice. its a shame there were no shortbread biscuits on the second and third days of our stay
location, views, everything there for you in the one place
5 lots of stairs to our room hard when you have luggage to carry, we left this in our hire car.
Location food friendly staff and the pool
Noisy corridor and a few things in the room not right but we did inform the staff
Excellent location, pleasant walk down to the sea, good food from the bar.
Loved the location and comfortable feel of the hotel. Facilities are good. Food in the Restaurant was excellent.
Swimming pool should open at 7.30 a.m. to allow a swim before breakfast.
The new taster menu for the evening meal was different, breakfast was self service with a great selection bar area has fantastic views down the sound
don't expect power showers as they have very low water pressure but that is not an issue showers work just not strong.
Lovely comfortable room, and a very pleasant lounge to sit and/or dine in if you desired, with a beautiful view. As a solo traveller this suited me beautifully. The food was good as was the service. I had a massage whilst there which was an absolute luxury, so good was the therapist and such a wonderful friendly lady, I would definitely recommend.
Although the walk down to the ferry and surrounding area was a very pleasant one which I enjoyed on a number of occasions, I found it was a long way to walk on arrival with a large suitcase and carry bag which as an overseas traveller and foot passenger I had. Planning on taxiing back, I was informed that there was none available in the area but I could bus. Upon querying a bus driver he told me there would be none on Sundays so once again the long walk along unsteady pavement. I feel the hotel could benefit from a courtesy coach under these circumstances, even a small charge for the journey would be quite acceptable, it was quite a challenge for me to drag my baggage this far especially on arrival when I had no idea how much further I had to go. This is the only thing I found unpleasant about the place.
Staff were very inflexible , rooms grubby, hotel needs a facelift to justify the £117 per night
Road to Tobermoray
Restaurant Staff were excellent. Spa was nice but needs a bit of TLC Staff in Spa were excellent. It is an excellent location for visiting Mull.
Hotel needs a bit of an upgrade- Décor, Furnishings etc. Shampoo etc. only given out on first day. All the room keys fit any door. - NOT GOOD. !!!! Spa needs a wee bit of attention. Hairdryers in Spa not working There are no Private showers in Spa.
