Very friendly and helpful owners. Nice clean room and an excellent breakfast. Can't really ask for much more.

I stayed with my five year old daughter. The staff were lovely and very friendly. The location is good. All in all a very nice BnB.

Lovely place with character. Run by a friendly couple. Situated in a quiet road and yet within walking distance of restaurants and pubs. Room 2 has probably the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in!

We felt relaxed and comfortable Dick and Sue were more than helpful and the attention to detail in the Hotle was excellent. They provided a top class stay with excellent service at a reasonable price. Its in an ideal location for all your needs from shops, pubs and restaurants to the lakes and surronding area'S.

Dick the owner was very helpful and friendly nothing was too much trouble never met nicer staff and he remembered both and my partners name.

The owners Sue and Dick were so welcoming and helpful. Ivy bank was a lovely place to come back and relax at after a busy day exploring our surroundings. The facilities and cleanliness were second to none. I highly enjoyed my stay here

Nice owner,comfortable environment~

The welcome we received when we arrived and the friendliness of our hostess was superb. The room was on the top floor but was clean and comfortable, and the attached shower room was very nice. Having a shared sitting room on the 1st floor was good and the internet connection worked first time and was a good connection. Breakfast in the morning was superb, hot and really hit the spot in readiness for a days walking in the mountains. We would have no hesitation in returning to Ivy Bank in the future.

Location was good. Owners were friendly and efficient. The room was very clean and contained excellent toiletries. The breakfast was excellent.

Propieters away during our stay think this should have been mentioned when booking as part of the description of the B & B describes the friendy welcome of owners. No complaints about how Claire the stand in looked after us she was very good.

Very nice B&B in the Windermere centre, clean and comfortable. The host family are extremely friendly and helpful. They gave us lot of advices about where to visit, how to get there. Highly recommended!

The Place: It was simple Perfect. Our room was compact but all amenities where there and just there where you expected and needed them. We stayed a lot in hotels, I'll ask a few of the 4-5 star hotel managers to have a look at Ivy Bank to learn .... The staff (owners): Dick and Sue are the example of how it should be everywhere. Perfect hosts, incredibly friendly, perfect service (Dick did even extra shopping to fulfill my special breakfast wish). It seems the words 'no' or 'we can not' are simply not in their vocabulary. For sure, the next time we are in the Lake District, we will stay at Ivy Bank.

The swimming pool as presented on their web-site is on a mile distance in a partner hotel (a top hotel in Windermere), for us it was no problem, but in case you plan some pre breakfast swimming action .... If you read the site carefully, it is stated there!

Sue was an excellent host...nothing was too much trouble. The atmosphere was very homely and comfortable

From the minute we were greeted at the door by our host, Dick, we felt comfortable and at home. Our room was lovely, beautifully decorated and the perfect place to unwind after a day's walking and sightseeing. Breakfast was delicious and we were given good advice on where to go and what to do in the area. There was ample parking at the rear of the house and we could walk into the centre of town in five minutes. All in all, a great stay.

The only drawback to our entire three-day stay was the paper-thin walls, where we could hear the guest's conversations next door, and presumably they could hear ours! However this was not a major problem as we were often out or asleep when other guests were there!

Lovely people they offered to help carry our luggage in as you park the car around the back. In this area parking would be difficult, so the private car park is a major advantage. Breakfast was well cooked with full English, fruit and yoghurt,cereal, toast and preserves. Fruit juices coffee or tea. Free wifi connection meant I could use my computer without any problems.

The weather was unbelievable, snow, gales rain then lovely bright sunshine all within 3 days, even though my wife got cold in the night, it was not for long as they supply the rooms with an extra fan heater just in case. They think of everything.
