The B+B has plenty of parking, comfortable and spacious room with everything you could need. I stayed for an exam and could have a cup of tea while sitting at my little dining table studying. The owner was incredibly welcoming and kind, and very friendly although in no way intrusive. A great welcoming B+B for solo travellers.
The shared bathroom and the bedroom were really dirty...
Helpful attitude of staff, tried to explain directions to Trafford Centre.
The parking is hit or miss depending what time of day. The hotel is undergoing building work and temporary steps at entrance are slippy and dangerous, We were given a top floor room, no lift, with shared toilet/shower room. The bedroom was small with no wardrobe, a REALLY CREAKY bed !! and creaky floor. Only one medium towel in room, had to go back down and up 4 flights to get more. The shower room is miniscule, no space to get dried comfortably. The cream (for coffee) was sour but we were given free coffees`on complaining. For £55 we expected better conditions. Won`t be back.
Good location Good price
Wonky stairs, very disorienting when you have been on the beers :) Room looked bigger on the Internet
Bed was comfortable. Room clean. Good breakfast cooked to order. Owner was lovely, friendly and helpful.
I enjoyed my stay at the Ivy Mount. Paul and the staff were very helpful, and the accommodation was very clean and comfortable. The location was convenient and easy to get anywhere in Manchester. I had a great stay there.
Friendly staff, good restaurants near by with free drinks as we stayed at Ivy mount- Smiths very good! Will stay again
Beds were a little bit un-comfy but other than that it was a good enjoyed stay.
Everything except the bed - breakfast was magnificent!!
Bed was really uncomfortable - think there may have been one or two springs sprung... Won't stop me coming back though (will maybe pack a camp bed).
Key safe is a great idea. The host provided lots of information about how the facilities. I especially liked the discount for Smith Restaurant.
Could do with a dish towel and washing up liquid in the kitchen. Could also do with somewhere to place your clothes in the bedroom as all of the hanging facilities are outside.
Lovely sized and comfortable bed. Had a great night's sleep. Paul the proprietor is a very friendly and helpful chap. When I am next in the area it will be my first choice for accommodation.
Very helpful owner Paul made sure booking in was easy and convenient. Iron and table-top ironing board were in room convenient for use. Lovely size en suite room, tastefully presented, with excellent amenities, free wifi and useful local info for transport, eating out available in the room and a fridge with juice, bottled water etc (payment via honesty box) ... although I was more than happy with the tea and coffee making facilities available in the room. I have more early morning appointments to come at Salford Hospital (less than 6 minutes away by car) and will certainly be returning to Ivy Mount it is very convenient and a pleasant place to stay. I did not opt for a breakfast this stay but with various options available including a delicious looking in room continental I will no doubt try this next time!
No issues I was happy to pay the price and would happily return here.
Stayed in the apartment next to the guest house. Very clean beautiful décor and our own garden. Would definitely stay again
Had to pay for breakfast we did not have. Room not cleaned aftwr 1st night. No fresh towels or tea/coffee. Reply from owner ,'cleaners day off'.
Paul the owner is great, always willing to help
I thought the breakfast was very good. It would be a good idea to put the breakfast times on the information book in the rooms.
The whole place was lovely very helpful and easy to get to, Paul and family wonderful place and you couldn't be anymore welcoming. We will be coming back for a visit definately
Friendly & kind owner with fairly nice room. I was given top floor room with a small roof window overlooking the sky, room was clean, good sized room.
Easy key access system, the bed was really comfortable, the shower great.
Could do with better soundproofing on my room windows facing the road as it was noisy with traffic until very late.
At the back it is quiet. Good bed. Paul is a real host and does a lot to make your stay as pleasant as can be. All public transport in the near vicinity.
Room 6 has no table and/or chair in case you would need that.
Staff very friendly and helpful and location great to get to Salford in the rush hour traffic.
Room very basic for price and needed minor decorative work, no curtains so room cold as very light. The shower didn't have a place to put soaps and I was there two nights and the soap/ shampoo wasn't replaced.
The room was clean, bed comfortable. flat T/V on wall, bedside lockers, one with working lamp, other disconnected due to no bulb in lamp.
Room at top of house, poorly ventilated, no chairs,cupboard/drawers to store belongings.Spoke to owner 2 days before visit to enquire about an ensuite double room, he advised he was out with his children and would ring back that evening, he didn't. I rang twice in the evening to enquire about ensuite double room,no reply to phone calls. On online booking form it would be a benefit if preferences, age group of guests and any disabilities was included. Steps at front of house very high, difficulty accessing, dining room not on ground level but located downstairs and not very spacious. I am sorry I haven't been more positive in my comments but I have stayed in other B&B accomodation over the years and this is the first time I have been disappointed.
Paul (who owns the guest house) is a friendly and very helpful individual where nothing is too much trouble.. he also cooks an excellent breakfast,
The road where the guest house is situated can be noisy so if you have problems sleeping you might wish to ask for a room towards the back.
Booked a flat. It was nicely decorated. Kitchen well equipped for simple meals like breakfast. Nice backdoor garden.
The flat only has windows in the bedroom. The flat entrance had severe humidity problems.
