Struggle to find anything pleasant to say

Needs updating plumbing, decor - just about everything. Food is very basic , not very good and takes ages to serve. Customer service doesn't seem to be a priority.

Comfortable and clean at a very affordable rate.

Some of the fixtures and fittings in need of a refresh. Sink was cracked and tired.

The staff without a doubt were fantastic and really went out of their way to help us, in particular the two young men on duty when we stayed. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they really made our stay a very memorable one. The hotel itself was very comfortable and breakfast was fantastic and served with a smile. Perhaps a little on the quiet side but didn`t bother us in the slightest. Would stay again in a heartbeat and I have no problem recommending The Ivy.

The room wasn't dark enough during the night because the curtains weren't thick enough. There was also a street lamp near the window which light the room during the night.

Good alround comfortable accommodation. Good food.

the pillows and mattress need replacing - the shower didnt work couldnt get the water hot - not even luke warm - however the spa bath was great - but really wanted to shower in the morning

Convenient for the town with bus service outside. Pleasant dining facilities for breakfast and dinner.

the stuff was very helpful and the cleaners kept our room very clean and tided food was nice it was a good quite location not far from places we had a nice pleasant stay at the hotel..

The staff are helpful and friendly. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming and the hotel is in a lovely quiet location.

The rooms are a little tired. I had booked a feature room with a four poster bed but was checked into a normal room with badly cracked sink and a dog-eared hotel brochure covered in coffee stains on the desk. Admittedly, once I complained I was moved to an executive suite with corner bath and walk in shower and the receptionist was very apologetic for the mistake. All in all, a little more attention to detail in the rooms and it would be a far nicer stay.

There seemed to be only one member of staff on duty who doubled/trebled roles professionally and with a smile.

Disappointed that the bar closed at 1030pm. No tea or coffee either after that time because the machine was switched off.

Lovely suite, very friendly staff

There was only one member of staff on Saturday at 1.30pm to receive and check in guests and to take orders for lunch and at the bar. For breakfast on Sunday the staff were friendly and efficient although there was no table laid for us and glassware/crockery was missing from the buffet table. It would have been nice to be able pour coffee rather than ask for more or try to find the pot. It must have been obious that a lot of wedding guests were staying and also some for the womad festival- not well organised!
