Ivydean B&B is ideal for Prestwick Airport and Ayr town center. Newton-on-Ayr train station is nearby and has a regular service to Glasgow and to Prestwick Airport. If traveling by car, Prestwick Airport is a 10-minute drive away. Each room is furnished to a high standard and comes with Freeview (digital cable) TV and a private bathroom. Large bathroom with good quality shower and plenty hot water. Well heated. Good TV with excellent picture. Plenty of parking, with its own car park. Breakfast was very nice with good selection, served very quickly. Slater bugs (dead and alive) all over edges of floor in room and bathroom. Some cobwebs. Didn't appear to have been hoovered. Seemed to be unmanned. Was not impressed had to cross a busy main road for Breakfast in another hotel (hardly ideal if have young kids or is raining). Cost was £30, I think £20 would have been the accomodations worth.

The hosts at IvyDean were extremely friendly, obliging and helpful. The breakfast was excellent as was the room. Clean, cosy, safe, accommodation, I would definitely revisit. The only aspect of the visit to Ayr that I did not like was, I had obtained a quote from Streamline taxis for the run from the airport and I was told that the taxi would be £5. On the night the driver charged me £7.40 when I informed him I had received a price for the trip from the office he was not very polite and when I requested a receipt he got very flustered and was not polite at all. Leaving me feeling very uncomfortable,late at night with a young child.

The service and food was great and the staff were very friendly. We actually stayed across the road at The St Andrews Hotel which is owned by the same people. The room was small and we were woken by people arriving late and leaving early as our room was right next to the front door. The shower was tiny.

Finished up staying in St Andrews Hotel opposite, owned by the same people. Good breakfast and was able to use bar - which was good Can't really say but atmosphere in b&b might have been nicer than Hotel

La habitación era amplia y las camas eran bastante cómodas. El servicio también estaba bastante bien, con buenas instalaciones. Por un lado, el servicio del hotel es nulo. La recepción está en un bar de un hotel de enfrente. Cuando me levanté por la mañana, no sabía dónde era el desayuno y no había nadie para preguntarle. Además, la calefacción de mi habitación no funcionaba, con lo cuál pasé mucho frio.
