Less than a mile from Windermere Train Station and center of town, the Ivythwaite Lodge Guest House offers luxurious rooms, free parking and free Wi-Fi. The Lodge has a private garden. Good location between Bowness by the lake and Windermere town, lovely, warm, homely place and very welcoming overall, nice decor inside and the owners were very friendly and chatty, room was cosy and nicely decorated with a super comfy bed and a beautiful bathroom with a big spa bath tub which felt more like a hot tub! Really enjoyed our short stay. Good value for money. The full English breakfast could have been better compared to other 4* places we've stayed and we prefer beans and/or some red/brown sauce with ours but having said that we had tried something different which was really nice and there was a good choice and we feel if we had asked them the owners would have been very accommodating. Can't fault anything else.

Owners very friendly and helpful. The Guest House is set in a lovely location. The room was a tiny bit too warm on our second night. There was not enough hot water left for the evening- so enjoying the hot tub was cut short a bit:)

We decided on Ivythwaite Lodge after reading the excellent reviews and we were not disappointed. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the room was perfect. Breakfast was cooked lovely and there was plenty of choice. It is also ideally situated within walking distance of the town centre. After seeing our photos, a friend has already booked for herself & partner!

I had a fantastic 2 night stay at Ivythwaite Lodge Guest House, the rooms are very luxurious and spacious and the Spa baths are very relaxing, I would definitely recommend here and Wendy and Mick are great hosts.

Everything, it was a perfect getaway from the city, an absolute gem with extremely friendly owners, Wendy and Mick, who went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable, warm and comfortable, great breakfast (candle lit with log fire), amazing room with four poster bed, cosy and elegant decor. We only wish we could have stayed longer.

We realy liked this hotel. The patrons were very hospitable and friendly. The hotel itself was most comfortable and tastefully decorated to a high standard. The breakfast was excellent and the whole experience was good. We most certainly would go back.

The room was beautiful with large beb and a double spa bath. Breakfast was excellent, Jenny and Mick were very welcoming, i would definately use ivythwaite lodge again, and have already recomendid it to friends.

The best thing about Ivythwaite is its ownership, particularly Mick, who is charming, hospitable and attentive. [I had naturally less interaction with Wendy.] It's a homey place of just a few rooms which makes it very quiet and peaceful as long as other guests are equally responsible people looking for the same experience you are.

Fantastic warm welcome on arrival and given a choice of fabulous rooms available . Very clean and lovely design and decor . Breakfast was 1st class and cooked perfectly ; nothing was too much trouble! Given great recommendations for restaurants / pubs and places to go and visit . Amazing local knowledge of walks and beautiful places . Mick the owner was on his own as his wife was away for a few days > he was a true professional and did a fabulous job. Nothing .
