The staff were brilliant!!! They let us into our room early as we were going to a wedding . We came back from the wedding around 1030 pm bought a bottle of wine and chilled. Breakfast was excellent. Hope to go back some day and enjoy the surrounding villages

Staff were the main assets un this hotel , very friendly and helpful It was described as luxury which was not forthcoming , the room was good but not luxury , the shower was a dribble and the advertised bottle of champagne was a very cheap low alcohol fizzy wine. This was replaced by champagne when I complained. I was disappointed as it was a birthday celebration , and it did not live up to the promise of luxury it was standard at luxury price.

Room was very comfortable, nice and warm, staff v helpful, dinner was excellent...best sticky toffee pudding ever! Breakfast was a disaster! Very little choice on menu, only cereal before cooked, I.e no fruit, yogurt etc, and it took 20 minutes to bring me 2 poached eggs on 1 slice f brown toast, what a shame when everything else was so good

Really nice friendly welcome , very clean cosy room. Food good Portion size was rather large, I had Sea Bass fillet which was lovely apart from the fact that the skin was not crisp and I had to leave it. Room overlooking main street so noisy with traffic and late night revellers. Very warm too as we did not want to open the window and let more noise in Lighting in room very bad, bedside lamps so dim we could not read by them

attentiveness and warmth of the staff. Everyone was very helpful and knowledgable. The only thing I would change is that I could hear the man in the next room in the bath!

Modern contempory but with old world charm Rooms next to road get some intermittent town road noise (room 2) secondary double glazing would solve this.

We were impressed with the warmth of welcome we received and the friendlyness and helpfulness of the staff. The room was comfortable and well equipped. It was very hot whilst we were staying, and a fan would have been good. The hotel was very clean and with good decor and ambiance. We also took our dog with us and there was no difficulty in dong this. It was all pretty good.

The hotel restaurant provided a range of excellent delicious meals for both breakfast and dinner. The room we stayed in did not have a mirror to look in to do hair or check clothes. They provided a hairdryer but hadn't thought about how you could use it without a mirror. You needed to be 6ft tall to see in the mirror on the wall above the bed. There also wasn't a chair to put clothes on when you changed to go to bed or to sit down on.The fire notice was a written notice, no map of the hotel layout and was only in english.

Good place to stay. I ate in the restaurant on 2 nights and the food was very well presented, nicely cooked, good quality ingredients and reasonably priced. The room that I stayed in on this occasion was spacious and pleasantly decorated. Staff were all very pleasant. Two small irritations. Firstly, it took ages to get checked out when I was leaving because the staff were busy with breakfast. Secondly, there is some noise from the kitchen extraction fan in the evening with the window open in Room 1 (so I closed it!). There is another window on the opposite side, which was ok, but on a warm evening and it would have been nice to open both. However, it is otherwise a really nice room and I would happily stay in it again - I don't think other rooms would hear this fan.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was a decent size and the amenities included everything you could expect. The room (Number 10) was rather warm so we had to open the window, but the nearby clock tower chimes every hour, so I was awake from 4am. Also the toilet took ages to refill and didn't flush very well. However we did report this to reception and they apologised and said they'd get a plumber to look at it.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent food. Very pleasant ambience. There was a problem with the digital signal on the tv (the jubilee concert was on) so they gave us the use of a different room which happened to be spare; and the problem with the tv was fixed while we were out the next day.

Staff were very efficient, polite and very attentive at all times. always a friendly greeting and nothing was a problem. Food was excellent , nice varied menu. room was very nice and comfortable, mattress alittle too hard for my wife, but overall everything was perfect. we would certainly use again when in that area. no handrail up the stairs from reception, just a small thing.
