Spa was too small. No jacuzzi or steam room. Saunas in changing rooms!! Only 2 rickety sun loungers. Bar prices totally inflated. Restaurant food covered in salt to enhance flavour.
The rooms were comfy and clean. The lounge area was beautiful. Reception didn't match rest of the hotel decorated to a high standard. Gardens were lovely.
Splash pool and tiny fitness area. Staff were not forthcoming about facilities until questione.
Nice room and decor.
This place is amazing from the facilities the staff to the grounds, absolutely will be returning here!! Laura, Tomas and Rupert were great very helpful staff. Thank you guys so much
Bar supplies seemed low and was unable, firstly to obtain the cocktail of choice and secondly a glass of Merlot ! Barman far too much of a 'cheeky chappy'. He needs to be far less opinionated. Some outside areas poor - out of character, tacked-on bicycle shed, what looked like staff accommodation block and grounds surrounding it very shabby. Needs fencing off.
Refurbished room was fresh, clean and comfortable. Complimentary café area was a true gem! Good location.
The staff were very polite, and helpful. We enjoyed walking in the grounds, having a drink in the bar and eating in the excellent Fork Restaurant.
Dated decor, especially the bathroom, we only ate breakfast there which was nice but constantly lacking something, ie no butter, no juice, ran out of some cereal.
Very helpful staff in reception, good parking facilities, we had 2 rooms which were both spacious, enough to fit in a cot and still have plenty of room.
Bathroom too old and you have to wait long time to have hot water.
Excellent staff. Very quiet location. Good breakfast. Close to Windsor and Ascot
The room was very dated with the smallest bath ever No help offered with luggage even though we were up two flights of stairs Breakfast staff a bit slow offering tea and coffee
The bar area was a lovely area to sit Breakfast was good, a wide variety and plentiful
In experienced staff, cocky head barman. Waiter who was trying to be funny and kept telling my wife to smile and cheer up.
Location was nice and man at reception very helpful.
No negative comments to give.
My friend and I stayed at the Royal Betkshire last Saturday and would highly recommend. As it was my birthday we were given a room upgrade to a suite which completely made my birthday even more special. Breakfast was lovely overlooking beautiful grounds. Would definitely return and would recommend a visit.
Breakfast very good
lovely stay Staff where amazing and very attentive Couldn't have wished for any better The young lady and man on reception where more than accomadating Would recommend this hotel
+ attentive staff + nice surroundings + great afternoon tea (served in the bar with a proper crackling fireplace)
Being woken up at 8am by building work on a Sunday was awful. If I had been notified when I booked that there was renovations occurring, I would have chosen somewhere else to stay
The reception staff were extremely helpful. I was ill during my stay and they couldn't have done more for me
A little strange that you had to ask for a fried egg with your cooked breakfast. So by th time is arrived the rest of the breakfast is cold.
Our Waitor Frank made our evening. He had is laughing all evening but was also very attentive and have good service even though he was rushed off his feet. He even came to see us as we left and say goodbye to is. The food was excellent even though th menu was surprisingly limited.
Although the room and bathroom were both large the decor was a little old fashioned for our taste. If the rooms were redecorated in the style of the downstairs areas it would be perfect.
We stayed for a birthday party. The function rooms, bar area, restaurant, and outside areas are lovely. Our bathroom was large too.
a little bit of noise on the sat nite as a party going on
view from room and breakfast and staff
Creaky floors above our room
Excellent staff, very comfortable lounge bar
Lovely country side location Country House hotel with real character Friendly staff Good room and facilities Good food
One of the Bar Staff was a little "familiar" and thought his odd sense of humour might have upset some visitors.
We loved the "old fashioned" element of our stay - the rooms were of "the old school" but were immaculately clean and catered for every need. The staff were excellent. We will definitely consider using the Royal Berks Hotel again, possibly at Christmas 2015.
No business facilities/no computer/ no print facilities Peeling wallpaper in rooms; carpets not cleaned properly; very dated bathroom, poor shower facilities; felt unclean
Location Gardens Common areas Food
Very polite and helpful staff, and lovely surroundings.
