I had booked a double room, but when we arrived we were told there were only twin rooms left, and these couldn't be guaranteed! Not good enough, if I had booked a twin with a girlfriend and ended up with a double, I would not have been amused.

It's a very comfortable hotel, the room was big enough and it had a lot of facilities. We loved the hairdrier and the kettle. The breakfast was plentiful and the service in restaurant was great. The staff is so kind and helpful especially Rafa, the Spanish waiter. We're travelling to Bristol quite often and for sure we'll stay again in the Ramada.

The restaurant staff at breakfast were excellent. Shame the rest werent as professional. The hotel was dated, staff were not over friendly. The bar staff were moody when we were back at 1am, the bar area was busy. It was noisy as there were two stag weekends booked in. We complained at the desk teh next day but were told we needed to complain when it happened to have any compensation offered. I would say the hotel is badly managed, however the restauarnt was delightful and breakfast was made a pleasure by the hotel manager and his staff. Maybe he should run the place!

The service did not fit in with the poor quality of the hotel's fixtures, fittings and cleanliness - it was superb. Very warm and professional staff who I couldn't fault if I tried. The room was outrageously dirty - thread-bare armchair, the remains of vomit on the wall by the door; the desk chair was stained so much that I had to put a towel over it to sit on it; the carpet....the bathroom... The lighting in the room was completely insufficient with only low-wattage lamps and no ceiling lights. The restaurant was exceptionally over priced for the quality of food on offer which by large appeared as if it had been prepared externally and reheated at the hotel.

The location of this hotel is excellent - a 5 minutet walk from the main rail station, and five minutes from the city centre and the docks, galleries and museums. I asked for a double room, but got a 'twin' room with small narow beds and uncomnfortable mattress. There was a large long black hair in the bed from a previous occupant. Breakfast was meagre - rubbery fried eggs which were continuing to cook and go hard under a hot lamp, no 'real' bread (sliced white and 'brown' only, not even wholemeal) and grubby seats. There was a long queue to be seated for breakfast - with only one man attending, and he had to clear up spills in the dining room too. The coffee was good though. Overall hotel experience: typical bare-minimum British, not up to international standards.

The courtesy of the staff and the food were good The bedding was dirty and the room had bits on the carpet and did not look like it had been cleaned. You could hear someone showering next door along with the sound of their fan

the only good thing about the hotel is its location. We had a fire alarm at 23.30 on saturday 28th of may. After evacuating all the guests out to the parking, without giving us any explanation or talk, we were all sent back to our rooms. No one smelled any smoke, saw any fire men, nor knew what had happened. This is poor customer service. I have a samall baby and this issue was very annoying.

The first room I went to was a smoking room and smelled like smoked fish. Not nice. The food on the menu wasn't available all night as room service. there was a £10 minimum charge on room service which i thought was unnecessary.

This was my first stay at this hotel and I will be returning. The staff were great, the room was spotless and the bed was ultra comfortable. An additional bonus was that it was a one minute walk to the office I was visiting.

I thought the food was expensive for what you got. Having to wait along time between courses plus getting the order wrong. Booking online doesnt seem to pass.the relevant information on or any for that matter without print out for proof we would of had a room. Also the bill was wrong due to it.

Reception staff very good At 7.30pm as a single diner I went to the restaurant ... it was less tha half full. I asked for a table for one... And was told they are too busy at the moment and could I come back in half an hour ! Unbelievable that they could not accomodate a single diner. Needless to say I dined out of the hotel for dinner and indeed for breakfast the following day. Really poor.

Easy to get to and not too far away from the shops and restaurants. Having stayed in Bristal before in a different Hotel I found that the Ramada is in need of a face lift, the rooms are a little tired.
