hotel has different rates for guests who order breakfast on previous day and other guests Iron And ironing table in the room were not working.
The location was awesome
A bit pricey but it was the festival to be fair
If you have baggage and/or a car this is NOT the hotel for you. Only buses and taxis can use road outside hotel and nearest place to park car overnight is over 15 minute walk away. It is really difficult and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
Located at city centre with beautiful view of old town and Edinburgh Castle
Short stay (2 nights only)
Excellent location for all points of interest
A bit dated
Easy to get everywhere
No air con
Location overlooking the Edinburgh Eye
Rooms were too hot, even with window open. They looked out into a coutyard with the noisiest air conditioning unit I have ever heard.
Very friendly staff good position off hotel clean rooms great views close to shops , pubs and restaurants
Location is excellent
Staff weren't that friendly It looks tired TV didn't work very well, and few channels
Great location , castle view room excellent , good size and comfortable . Breakfast lovely and plenty choices . Good value . Will be back .
Cleaning good, location good, near train station, buses, tour bus also, I like it.
We r morning break fast your hotel but every day my table no sweetner sugar ,I ask every day your staff.
Great location, friendly and helpful staff, rooms were excellent, great breakfast
Location was good. Bed was comfy
Facilities were basic, TV was old and slow, lifts weren't great. Very pricey for the dated look and feel. Wouldn't recommend.
Checkin was late had to waiy
1. must choose a room, through which you could see the Princess Street. Then, you could see the fireworks at night. 2. breakfast, WIFI included
1. There's no loading area near the hotel, not convenience to family travelers with young child and elder people; 2. Very far to the parking area, around 15-20min walk.
1.Location from Waverly Train Station 2. Restaurant-Nice food and view
1.Bathroom 2. Furnishing-very poor-gives a feeling of worn out and very old. 3. TV too small in this day and age. 4. There should be a sitting couch in the reception or at least the chairs for an old lady to sit while check-in and check-out is in waiting or in progress.
No parking facilities
Good situation. Comfortable room.
Smokers standing on doorstep. Room 651 smelling of smoke Reception on 1st floor. Dining room very dirty. Food unappealing.
The location was excellent & the staff at reception were very helpful. Good selection at breakfast
The room was extremely hot but with the window open it was too noisy to sleep - no air conditioning, only a noisy fan. The staff at breakfast on the first day were a bit brusque.
The view of the castle
Good breakfast. Nice view from room. Staff very pleasant & polite.
Breakfast coffee weak & distasteful until I asked for strong coffee each morning. Traffic noisy at night. Security card sometimes failed to work.
Are room was a bit small and at the back of hotel noise all night with the aircon unit would recommend the front but I bit too expensive for us
Small hot room windows did not open. Loud noise from heating plant outside certainly not value for money very very dissapointing would never return. So much for the castle view alas its turned into a heating plant.
The only good thing about the hotel is the prime location. You are literally in the city centre. Easy to find your way around from waverly station. We didnt have to use any sprt pf transportation bcse of the location. The breakfast was decent
Receptiontist who dealt with us was neither helpful nor welcoming. When i booked 2 rooms, i specifically asked in form ( bcse there was an option there for special requirements) for one twin room and i said if it is possible close to each other. When we went to check in. Whatever I asked for, didnt get noticed and on top of that she said our rooms are not ready, they will be ready around 4. ( it was 14.30 when we went to check in) while waiting I saw she said the same thing to the couple before us. Very good hospitality specially after travelling nearly 7 hours to get there. I wonder what do they do in that 2 hours after check out time...the rules state that you need to check out before 12 but when next customers comes the rooms are not ready... The bed was decent but the room was tired the bathrooms in both rooms need to be done asap. Very poor specially if you pay £600 for two nights. Not value of the money at all!! Most importantly there is no AC in the rooms so in summer you need to open windows as the rooms are hot for some breeze but then the busy road doesnt let you sleep at night.
