The location was perfect for visiting Edinburghs tourist spots as well as shopping. The housekeeping staff cleaned the rooms well and were considerate. The disappointment was in the dining room at breakfast where it did seem busy and you had to serve yourself but to be fair my daughter was happy with this arrangement. However she agreed to try room service for me but unfortunately was brought the wrong cereal and as it was delivered later than we requested we didn't have time to ring down. |

Location was excellent, breakfast was great and the staff were really nice. My room had excellent views of the Castle. Because the hotel was so busy, there was a delay in check-in and the beds weren't the most comfortable. |

the fact that it was so easy to get to from airport and its location was so central to everything and the room had a view of castle at night. |

Location The bathroom was very poor and not clean. I was very dispointed. Also the road works outside could be heard and the window in the room did not close so my stay in to hotel was not a good one. |

we enjoyed our stay in edinburgh, the restaurant has a very good view of the city and castle, the service was friendly. dinner was good plain food, and good value. breakfast was splendid. the room was very small, had a broken chair, needed decorating and the bedding was very old although nice and clean, we did not sleep very well because the room is near an airconditioning unit. there was only 1 lift working and we were on the 5th floor, thankfully we are both quite fit. although it was supposed to be a deal it did not compare very well with smaller hotels we have stayed at nr city centre at similar price. |

The close proximity to the shops was ideal since I had gone to Edinburgh to do my Christmas shopping. |

location near train station, easy access to High Street, easy access to restaurants in New Town, great location for Princess St. if they every finish construction one elevator did not work entire time there, the other was slow -- this could be a great hotel based on location alone if given an upgrade -- better elevators, better rooms |

Ease of access to shops and railway station. Friendlness of staff. Dinner in the evening was excellent but breakfast service could have been better. Plenty of waitresses but not enough staff behind buffet. |
