Ramada Edinburgh Mount Royal

The staff were very good. We have just returned after spending our 40th wedding anniversary there. When the reception staff heard they sent a card up to our room. We both thought it was a lovely jesture

The comfort of the bedrooms and view from the front rooms, the quality of the breakfast and restaurant, friendliness of the staff.

Breakfast did not cater very well for vegetarians, and did not have Soya Milk, which I had to buy myself.

This comfortable hotel enjoys an excellent position for city breaks with excellent services and catering.

Only criticism... bed quality was poor and really should be better.

it was very central to tourist sites

there were no drawers to put your items in and the design of the room with the bed in a alcove was claustophobic

just clean and comfortable rooms. nothing else

No concierge, difficult access to reception, no lounge to relax, restaurent like a university canteen,, staff are poorly trained, restaurant satff appearances very scruffy, not good for value hotel.

when i arrived i was welcomed warmly & quickly after my details were confirmed i was offered a room with a balcony which made it a bit more special for my partner she loved standing out on it seeing the castle view at night

the tram works were a bit noisy at times outside but nothing to do with the hotel

We were celebrating my 60th birthday and viewing our son's degree exhibition at Edinburgh's college of art and sculpture prior to his graduation.

The rooms were rather smaller than we might have liked but overall very good value for money

within walking distance to shops and castle staff very friendly and helpful

we arrived on a wet cold mornong, we were allowed into the room at midday, this was much appreciated and meant we could rest for an hour before sightseeing all afternoon/evening. Our room had a castle view, alas the noise from tram works on princes st meant we spent very little time there.

Yes the hotel bedroom (677) was too hot even with the fan they provided. We onlt stayed for 2 nights if we had stayed any longer I would have asked them to change my room we did mention this to reception.Perhaps the hotel is ready for refurbishment.
