Ellersly House Hotel  

Hotel staff were very friendly and the breakfast available was good.

In our hotel room there was a constaint sound from the radioator. This would wake us up at least once a night.

24 hour bar spacious room, comfortable bed, cleanliness was to a good standard.

Our door didn't lock from inside, room was pretty cold but was fine as time went on, shower dripping all night, not to do with hotel but taxi fares to get there cost a fortune!!! So unless you know the buses well don't do it!

The breakfast selection was basic. Limited choice of foods on a self service basis. No breakfast menue's were avaliable and very limited food choice. Minimum staff on duty. Room clening was below standard. Used cups were not cleaned or replaced in the morning . Dust on the furniture was visable. No grab rail on wall above bath which is essentail when showering

It was warm and comfortable, convenient and value for money

I think it would be a plus to a have a TV room

The hotel was very nice and cosy with a fire by the bar and main enterance.

The windows needed insulating, when the wind picked up it came right through them. The decor was very dated in places also and there was no gym facility.

The staff were very curtious and very helpfull especially when we discovered that we had a flat tyre on our car, the young gentleman loaned us a tyre pump which got us out of trouble thus enabling us to get to a tyre repair shop, so please thank him for his assistance.The breakfast was just fantastic, we couldn't eat again until the evening,that's how filling it was, it was just what we needed to start the day, especially inthe cold weather.We really enjoyed our our stay with you lovelly people.We will remember our stay when we return to Australia. it will be one of our fondest memories of your wonderfull city, we wouln't hesitate in making a booking at your hotel if and when we return to Edinburgh, we just love the place, thanks for making us welcome and take care of yourselves, it was like staying with family, Bob & Sue Tuddenham.

The matress is a bit tired, other than that everything was very good.

No information about hotel in room. Windows rattled. Noisy plumbing during night.

Apart from the convenient location, I.E. not too far away from the airport, the accommodation offers good facilities in the sense that my room was very well equipped on the basis of a reasonable price. In addition the staff was very helpful, and I could pay right after my arrival, as I had to leave very early the next morning. For travellers without a car it's also convenient, as the 100 service (Lothian Airport Shuttle) stops close to the hotel. All in all, a good experience.

No phone in the room so that we could not take an important call. Romm grubby and needing refurbishment

When I went to pay the bill I discovered that I had been charged £7.50 x 2 for the duration of our 6 day stay and I only booked as I was lead to believe that the breakfast was fully inclusive which made the stay outside our budget and this seemed a stealth charge! Also the breakefast was bland and someone must go to the local suoermarket every morning and full their trolly up with smart price sausages,eggs,tomatos,bacon,etc . So to conclude i booked what appeared to be a very good price for a budget hotel but with the added shock of being charged for the breakfasts i could have stayed in quite a few far nicer hotels in Edinburgh ,The EllerSLY has a very poor method of ripping offf customers!!.
