Score from 458 reviews Very good
In the Cotswold village of Frampton Mansell, The Crown Inn is a 17th-century ‘cider house’ with log fires, traditional home-cooked food, locally brewed real ales and good company!
Score from 133 reviews Fabulous
In the heart of Gloucester, the 15th-century New Inn features a medieval courtyard, real ale pub and free Wi-Fi. There is also a traditional restaurant with period features.
Score from 665 reviews Good
On the outskirts of picturesque Gloucester and surrounded by acres of beautiful grounds, this elegant country house boasts modern rooms, a restaurant serving good food, and a bar.
Score from 145 reviews Good
Strange hotel.New housing estate being built right next to it.Family rooms are adjacent to the function suite,so either leave the kids at home or take good earplugs. In the restaurant I ordered the chicken liver parfait. it was crumbly, like cheese and tasted, weirdly, of cheese.Strange hotel.
Swimming pool to crowded
Excellent leisure club and swimming pool.
Hotel location and room allocated
Spa facilities, plenty of parking
Hotel interior generally tired. Unimaginative restaurant menu with long delay in service. Room not properly cleaned.
The restaurant was particularly good we both enjoyed a very good steak did get ignored upon arrival by a member of staff (Kathy) until we ordered champagne! Other than that excellent experience was our 2nd visit and there will be a 3rd!!!
Desk staff were very helpful.
Food was below standard pork Wellington, pork was over done and the pastry was raw on the base. Half chicken was ok. Breakfast was all pre cooked and divided to eat out.
The staff were helpful and it was clean. On one occasion, the dinner and breakfast were excellent, but disappointing thereafter.
The map of Gloucester was useless and caused us to waste valuable time. The decor was tasteless, particularly the striped carpet. UGH! Described as Spa Hotel, it was misleading as the pool was in a separate busy Leisure Centre.
Bed and shower
No air condition and little access to air. Noisey as car park was close to the room
the area the hotel is situated and facilities were good . restaurant was very pricey for the amount of food you were served however the breakfast was good and staff very accomodating
our double room overlooked a building site which we were not informed about when booking and work continued over the weekend so no long lie in for us .
After a very long day that started at 3am and involved various meetings between Newcastle upon Tyne and Gloucester, it was great to end my day in this hotel. I heavily rely and WiFi and the connection was reliable, the room was comfortable and welcoming and the staff excellent.
The lovely staff had no problem providing a lovely gluten free afternoon tea for my husband. And the evening restaurant staff were brilliant
swimming pool could do with a little bit of updating but still a nice place for a relaxing swim
Room/bed restaurant layout
First impression were poor as new housing estate being built around hotel.Entry hall smelt like a 1980s cinema.Room was on basement with no views of Cotswolds.Partner has an injured ankle and hotel has no lift had to carry suitcases to room. Swimming pool outdated and needs modernising. Restaurant staff appeared scruffy and one staff member thought to laugh when I was not happy with my meal. Felt meal was warmed up and had thick layer of film across top of dish like a crust was the pan fried chicken.Other guests compliained about food on menu after eating whilst we were eating our own food. Staff cleaning up banging dishes and plates around us whilst eating and disturbing our meal. Pictures misleading on website and booking site. Will be writing to the AA awards scheme as do not rate the hotel in my opinion as four stars to the standard required AA needs to revalate your hotel vast improvement needed and honest description needs to be made on website.price does not match overall quality of hotel and what was meant to be a romantic two days away did not happen and overall very disappointed. Regards Wayne Pope
Polite and helpful staff
Ideal location for my visit to Gloucester. Have used this hotel before so knew the standard of the facilities was good.
Resturant very good
Pool and leisure complex very poor
Staff were very friendly, room were comfortable, modern looking hotel inside
Location-drove threw not so nice looking council estate to get to hotel, hotel at entrance looks worn and dated (however better once inside), building a housing estate right next door so lots of building work noise in the morning and threw out the day. Room key constantly stopped work so always had to go to reception to have the key reactivated. Couldn't use the spa as there was no availability all weekend.
Room was spacious and clean, food in the restaurant was excellent.
Spa & gym facilities, also breakfast buffet had a wide range of choice
Poor sleep due to a hen party at the hotel & building works next door to the hotel
The beds are amazingly comfortable.
The spa is very dated and the sauna door doesnt shut properly! Looks better on the website, was a little disappointed. The shower in the room was almost a trickle not powerful enough to have a proper shower
the rooms were lovely
the fact the leisure facilities were open to the general public, therefore it was always busy, did'nt use them because it was so busy also its in the middleof a housing estate and not in a peacefull location
Very clean and tidy with helpful staff and good food.
Noise through the night, a lot of squeaky floorboards
Very small room-service food portions. Experienced same at sister hotel. A bit of a strange location.
Food was gorgeous, swimming pool was good. Everyone pleasant and helpful.
nothing really had a brill time.
Location, wildlife, ease of access to Gloucester, Cheltenham and surrounds
Night porter can be a bit aggresive in his mannerisms.
Staff are very helpful and friendly.
