The new decor in the main areas is ok. The staff, facilities, location and services are all rubbish. The outside looks like a 1970's council flat with the outbuildings in very poor condition. I wanted to sit outside with my beer and I was led through a service corridor to an area overlooking a bus parking lot. The breakfast buffet was cold and more or less empty and when I requested a Financial Times in the morning they provided a times instead. I paid £100 for the night and have honestly stayed in better ibis/ budget hotels.

Despite being geared up for business we were given excellent attention by staff in all departments - it was an ideal stopover for our short break.

room was spacious food is too overpriced for what you get and the staff tend to be reactive instead of proactive. Too many times you have to ask for things that should be done as routine.

The room was comfortable with good facilities. Bed was comfy. Spacious room. It was a shame that our room over viewed a car park. The towel rack in bathroom didn't work. The bath/shower could be more powerful, however not too much of an issue. The fan in bathroom didn't Work, so steam did not leave bathroom which as a female made it impossible to do makeup as mirror in room had poor lighting. The pool was a bit of a let down, although it was a spacious pool it was very very dated. Tiles need to be re done and the flooring of pool. The water seemed to have an old/odd smell to it. Changing rooms where not welcoming at all and I was sure to only be in there as quick as possible. We were disappointed with the staff, both at the pool and hotel. Some staff were great on the desk and very polite, however on the evening we experienced signal problems with our tv and a male staff member came to help, he made us feel that we were a burden and when my partner made polite conversation his reply was sharp and rude, I personally think you need great people skills when working in such a place. He fixed the tv, for only two minutes later it broke again, finally it did fix but remained to be a fuzzy picture and not full quality sound for the night. We also asked the reception about places to eat out and she wasn't helpful in knowing the area to give us an idea of somewhere to go. The menu at the restaurant should be more varied and have choices that suit everyone.

FORGET other reviews, this is a great hotel. No noise from other rooms. Enjoyed the food here it's amazing. No riff raff here on our bank holiday stay. Spa is top. Staff are so kind and helpful. Why why why has anyone been nasty enough to say staff are rude. Far from it. There's a golf course near by and woods to walk in for the adventurous. If you really want fun then 30 seconds from the hotel you could be enjoying skiing or snowboarding on a state of the art ski slope. There IS local shops in the form of a tesco metro and other road a shell garage. Why people simply can't look around is beyond me. This is a lovely retreat. You don't have to leave but if you do head to the quays and there's a huge shopping duty free outlet. Parking is £2 ALL DAY, there's markets, bars and a very very vibrant shopping centre. What's NOT to like??? There's everything you could want in your room from a 32" Samsung TV on your wall to double choc cookies next to your kettle. Also, you have full access to the gym. Spa steam room is hotter than hell just amazing. I've never been in a steam room that blasts out that much heat. Also a REALLY good thing is the jucuzzi is always on. Not like other gyms that pumps out 5 mins of bubbles and switches off this one is perminant. The pool is red hot from the overspill of the jucuzzi. All good. Played squash afterwards too. The outdoor tennis court was being relaid and spruced up for summer. Loved to of played but hey, you need sunshine to lay a tennis court. Thanks to all staff here. Can't wait to come here again. In the words of Arnold Schwarzenegger - "I'LL BE BACK!!!" Nothing

Decor very pleasant throughout hotel and breakfast food was cooked well Stayed in room 112. Phone plugged in but no line to reception. Very poor shower. Disappointed at the "complimentary toiletries". Disappointed with the lack of choice in the buffet breakfast on first morning and then on the second morning no buffet - breakfast cooked to order. Was told by staff that the burners were not working yet these were only candles. Believe the buffet was cleared away well before 9am yet breakfast is supposed to be served until 9.30am. Waitresses so busy that it was difficult to catch their attention to order another cup of tea and one was walking away whilst I was still trying to speak to her to explain what I wanted.

Use of pool and gym. Bar food is good but see below. Breakfast is good. Don't get a room near the gym or squash court as the noise starts from half 6! The bar is quite expensive too. No Sky Sports

The room was comfortable. The room was dusty as if not recently used. I had explained that I had mobility problems but getting to the room involved stairs and tey had no other twin rooms. We should have been told in advance. The breakfast was cold as though the food had been cooked for a while and kept in warming dishes which failed as they were often opened for obvious reasons. If the cook prepared a smaller amount at a time and refilled the dishes more often the meal might have been ok but as it was, it was almost inedible! The orange juice was diluted so not what we expect from a 4* hotel.

Most of the staff were fantastic. The food was great. The receptionist on sunday night dealt with the fire alarm going off at 3am appallingly. We were dismissed back to bed with no explanation and he disappeared into a room so we couldn't talk to him!

The Staff Were Very Helpful and Friendly I travel a lot and always book a Family room, for additional space and generally for a bit of peace. Considering the Hotels rural location and it's recent major refurbishment this was one of the noisiest hotels i have stayed in you could hear everything going on in the hotel. The Spa area and changing rooms where in awful condition, could do with a good clean and paint.

The hotel had good leisure facilities but was very busy at the weekend. Room service and breakfast also of a good standard. The staff were friendly, especially at reception and we were given free tickets for the Cotswold Wild Life Park. Too busy for our liking and a bit out of the way. No bottled water in the rooms and so had to go to the bar and get a bottle of water at the cost of almost four pounds! Finally, the swimming pool closed far too early with people being asked to leave at seven forty.

Spacious room Noise. Family room 3 door down from function room. With parties until gone 12am both nights then the drunken corridor dwellers the 10 month old and 2yr old were awake scared most of both nights. Not a restful experience for any of us!
