We stayed at the hotel only a month ago, when it was still a Jarvis, and was so impressed with it, we booked again as a birthday treat weekend for us. This time there was nothing we liked about the hotel,The food for breakfast the next day was clap cold, we did complain to the Restaurant manager, but apart from an apology, nothing was offered. We also had a tiny room, which was no better than a £29 travel lodge hotel. We will now look at other hotels in maidstone to stay at, for a birthday treat it was very disappointing, and we paid the extra £20 for breakfast.

The food deal was very good value for money We felt the room could have done with a coat of paint, as the skirting board had black marks on it in places, and some of the walls had marks on it and some of the paint was starting to flake off of the cove above the t v. As we said above the food was very good there was a problem with the meat was being carved right next to the vegetarian dish and so some of the meat was falling off in to the said dish, and there was a long waiting to get served. With a little bit of forward planning i e moving some of the dishes around so the chef was only carving the meat things could move along much quicker, the same applies to the breakfast with the position of the toaster. These are only small things that would make a lot of difference in the speed of serving the customers and keeping them happy.

The location and countryside views but that's about all; everything else, at least for a 4 star hotel, was disappointing. The size of the room, lack of attention to detail, the thinness of the walls - could hear everything going on in the adjoining room. Breakfast was overcooked and choice limited. There seemed to be a general culture of penny pinching. I've stayed in better hotels for less.

the spa . and we got updated to a suite which was fantastic. the staff were lovely and friendly. restaurant seemed to be unable to cope with the input of people for breakfast.this is not derivitive of the staffs inability to cope, rather than the pure logistics of seating ,large amounts of people at peak times, that said, the quality of breakfast,as usual, was very good.

I had to classify the poor customer service of the receptionist when I wanted to check in I guess she was not expecting a black couple we both noticed her change of altitude when I wanted to check in and when I finally did I had to go up and down twice to get to the designated room.but I must commend the breakfast which was really good and fiannly the rooms do need a central controlled air cooling systerm in all thier rooms

We always find the hotel welcoming and pleasant however we do feel that the cost of meals should be discounted to residents As above we found the cost of breakfast quite expensive at £10 each so we had breakfast out for much less

Location, it used to be Ramada It needs a refurb and I dont really like deals where breakfast was not included as this was an expensive extra. Booking.com advises its £10 but on arrival it was over £13

Very convenient for castle. Noisy Christmas party guests. Perhaps party guests should be located on a separate floor where they only disturb each other!

Pleasant location - good bathroom You have to use stairs to access the lift - very poor for disabled guests - also disabled parking could easily be far closer - beds way too soft - I was charged the £3.35 for a soda water with lime absolutely disgusting also although the room service chicken curry was ok it was lukewarm & neither as tasty or as well presented as at their Watford hotel.

Very good welcome from reception staff, even though booking.com had not passed on our reservation. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast buffet choice was excellent with freshly prepared food. Swimming pool was very good with jacuzzi and steam room. Health club staff were friendly too.

Swimming pool very nice I had a very poor nights sleep due to a broken duct on the roof. I did draw their attention to it during the night but it wasnt resolved until the next morning. The response from the customer service team has not been satisfactory, whilst they apologised etc they didnt offer me a refund or complimentary night the best they have offered is a special rate including breakfast which will obviously be dependent on when I wish to stay. I am mindful of premier inn's offer that if you don't get a good nights sleep you get a refund.I Wonder if I had paid full price for the room if their attitude would be different.

Free use of pool and sauna. Leeds castle in walking distance. Thin walls so disturbed by others returning back late. Door only locked if it was slammed shut.

The staff are always friendly and helpful, and it is good to see that the change to Mercure has not changed this. If anything, the restaurants menu has improved, and although is a little bit more expensive, the food was excellent. The room, as always, was clean, comfy and spacious. In all, an excellent stay!

Its location and the pool! The rooms are too close to each other and you can hear everything from the next door rooms! I did not like that at all! You feel that you have no privacy.

The hotel served a purpose but was nothing special. Apart from the motorway being very close it has a nice location but needs to be done up, even just a lick of paint. The corridors particularly need modernising and there is too much noise from other rooms. The staff didn't have any info about leeds castle, the main nearby tourist attraction
