initial reception seemed very promising
room222. was very cramped and we were kept awake by tv next door and chattering If you go to breakfast after 0900 don't bother its all dried up and you may end up being sat next to ladies conference table in dining room
Location, breakfast, facilities
Confusing stairs, room was way too hot with no air con.
1. The wonderful pool - sumptuous and lagoon like and so relaxing. 2. Friendly staff and a perfect spring water spritzer 3. A non-intrusive but very pleasant singer at dinner 5. massive bed - luxurious
A little awkwardness in accessing the room - you had to go down from the ground floor to go up to the first floor - making luggage carrying and accessibility for my disabled a partner a little challenging. (there was a stair lift for the "down" part of the journey but this needed a member of staff to operate it).
Rude reception when I went to check in, room was very dated needed a refurb, didn't check in til midnight as was at a wedding and cleaners knocking at 9.15 in the morning, wouldn't go back and not value for money
Bed was very comfortable
Firstly the room was a long walk away from the reception (badly designed layout) The room was very cramped - hardly any room between the bed, dressing table/unit and side window. Weak WIFI signal
Really comfy bed
Extremely poor Wifi connection so could not do the small bit of work that I needed to do.
The pillows far too thick affected my sleep
Out of all the hotels I have ever stayed in the staff are the friendliest here Lovely food cooked fresh
Pillows too thick Doors slam when shut and wake you up
Excellent and friendly staff Lovely breakfast and food Good value for money
Pillows too thick
Bed was ok. Room was clean.
Bathroom was small and looked very dated. Corridors and floors a real jumble and long walk from reception/stairs/lift area. Food was only just average.
Rooms are tired and a little dated.
The leisure facilities were actually quite good on day one and then the hot tub broke down on day two. But having spoke to other people at the hotel this is quite common. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was in very good order. Loved the peacocks!
On arrival the receptionist seemed a little stressed but was friendly. Once we got into our room, which was apparently a privilege room that's when we wished that we were somewhere else. The walls were grubby & there were two large hand prints. Such a disappointment. Explained that it was our wedding anniversary and that we were not happy with the room. Luckily they had another room that we swapped to but if they hadn't we would have left. I think this is really poor. All it takes is a cloth & some hot soapy water to keep things smart. Its just sloppy! There were no cold meats or cheeses for breakfast, which was listed on the menu. And to cap it all we wanted to eat in the restaurant on our anniversary and use our taste card but were told that as we hadn't booked we couldn't use it. How utterly stupid! Do they have a different menu for taste card users?? When we checked out the receptionist who was very nice and asked if everything was ok. We explained about the restaurant situation and apparently the restaurant manager was going to email me the following day. To date I am still waiting! I am sorry to say that I would not rate this as a four star hotel and quite honestly I wonder who did!!!
Location was great for Leeds Castle, Maidstone town centre & motorway route. Hotel & facilities were also very good (gym, sauna etc,) and the room was clean. Excellent breakfast in nice surroundings. I'd stay again but look to get a room with more space to move around. Free parking is also a big plus!
Room was much smaller than we expected (we've stayed at other hotels that charged less but had much more space). Bathroom was also small and the room has no air-conditioning which could prove uncomfortable in hot weather. Bar prices are very high too.
Friendliness of dining room staff Quality of the food Easy to find Plenty of parking
Cleaners Leaving our room unlocked, left at 08:00 returned 19:30 to find deadbolt on door and unlocked with all our possessions inside. Extremely poor "hi-speed" wifi Not enough room to move around the bed without hitting yourself on something Decor looked "tired" and not particularly clean
Late opening to order food Free wifi Comfy bed Staff helpfull
Slow wifi Burger was extremely greasy TV kept on freezing and had to turn off and on quite a few times
Friendly and helpful staff provided extra fold up bed for child.
No lift to room on first floor proved difficult for child with mobility issues. Instead he had to negotiate about 30 steps . Nowhere to securely leave his wheelchair while he went upstairs. However a request for assistance to be provided in the case of an emergency was offered. Thankfully none occurred during out stay.
Enjoyed the sauna, jacuzzi and pool.
The hotel was comfortable and the location is great.
The first morning of our stay the breakfast was cold. I don't understand why buffet breakfast is cooked in a large quantity so early before guests are ready. As regards the appearance of the hotel we noticed the head of one of the great danes had fallen off and this does not look good considering the rating of your hotel.
The room size and the facilities.
The long walk to my room
Amazing breakfast good location very comfortable for visiting leeds castle.
Nothing in particular
Clean and tidy with all necessary facilities - hairdryer, iron etc. Staff friendly and helpful. It's good for just a place to rest your head for a night and location great for function at Leeds Castle
Room was warm and fan provided wasn't great. Tea and coffee for the two of us meant we could have a cup each! Receptionist did provide us more when we asked.
Near Leeds Castle Near motorway Breakfast and dinner we're good value WiFi ok
Rooms far too small for the furniture. Walls paper thin, kept awake by argument going on next door Long hike to the lift.
+ Swimming pool open till late 22.00 + you can go to the swimming pool after check-out. + Good size for casual swimming + Jacuzzi, steam, sauna + Nice interior garden with big games (4 in a row, chess)
- Noisy (hotel next to the motorway) - Industrial breakfast
Hotel very efficient. Arranged Champagne & Flowers as requested and staff did everything to make the short stay feel very special for the Bride & Groom.
Location was ideal for our purposes being walking distance to Leeds Castle. The pool and spa were not too busy. Very nice grounds to stroll around.
The restaurant decided to have a buffet only that evening. If I had known that in advance I would have gone elsewhere for dinner. No apologies or recognition that this was unacceptable. It made the restaurant more akin to an all you can eat cafe. Rooms are adequate and ours a long walk from reception. Basic and few toiletries, including loo roll! Not asked by the staff on check out whether I enjoyed my stay - just presented with the bill. Have since emailed my comments which has not been replied to.
