The bed was very comfortable and the surroundings beautiful The price did not include breakfast which added £12 each per head, including for children which made it much more expensive than similar local establishments. I would give it a low 3 Stars. The room was fine but the walls were thin and a wedding was taking place which created some noise. The bathrooms very tired and the hotel a jumble of rooms needing serious tlc. The breakfast was ok but a bit greasy. The spa area was also ok but the pool ridiculously small and only really good as a dip pool or for tiny children. Nees a lot of money spending to bring it up to a good standard. The location is wonderful so it could be a beautiful place to stay if investment was made.

A quiet location. The pool leisure facilities were closed that evening without notice and as I had had a long journey and wanted to unwind I was really dissappointed. I then went to the lounge to access the free Wifi as advertised widely in your literature only to find it was not accessible that evening or at the Conference the following day! The location did not have T Mobile coverage. Overall, what could have been a really enjoyable experience was marred by the lack of these facilities.

The location is beautiful Hotel was overrun with commercial guests despite me being assured I would find peace and tranquility in which to work when I booked. Dining room was jammed and noisy so I ate in my room both nights. My room overlooked the bar and the park, and noisy commercial guests were outside the bar until way after midnight both nights. An 'It's a knockout' style team bonding competition took place on my second day...complete with microphones and giant bouncy castles...and the accompanying shouting and screaming... Was right under my other window... So I would say definitely not the best hotel experience i've had. But the staff and the food were great!

Staff were all very courteous and helpful, rooms very clean and spacious. Lovely gardens and views across the countryside. Very close to Newbury racecourse which is 15 minutes in a taxi Menu choices for evening meals could have been wider. Pool quite small

“We booked up at the The Crab for our anniversary, and wow! Lovely location, staff very friendly and helpful, the theamed room we stayed in (Bird Island) was very clean, the bed was really comfy, then when you open the curtains you see the patio with the hot tub! The restaurant was very romantically light which was nice and the food was amazing, they even do a dessert to share with a little bit of everything if you can't make up your mind what to have. Would we stay there again? Yes ” Mark, Aldershot |
