It was a reasonable hotel at a reasonable price. It didn't do anything spectacularly well but was value for money. The hotel was not at its best and was a bit scruffy in places. There was no hot water one morning during our stay so we all had to have cold showers. The hotel's response was that somebody had forgotten to turn the boiler on. I would have thought that this would have been an automatic function as it is something that everybody would need every day. |

The breakfast was excellent. The bar was lovely. The bed was very uncomfortable and the noise from the street at night was unbearable. |

The staff were all pleasant, the room was comfortable, the breakfast was good. An important plus were the parking facilities. We had to wait around while the receptionist checked if our room was ready as it said dirty on the computer. She could not find anyone to check it, but eventually it was found to have been ready all the time!! Staff should update the computer regularly as this was an unnecessary wait around after a long journey! |

I liked the location, which was in the middle of town and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room was very comfortable and clean and our breakfast was very good. I wouldn't recommend staying on a weekend, because from our experience, it was very loud (Saturday night). A wedding reception was going on at the hotel and the guests and music were extremely loud, making sleeping impossible. Also, parking was a bit far from the hotel and with our heavy bags, would like to have had an elevator and or assistance. |

The ambiance and laid back nature of checking in, moving around the hotel, etc My advice would be not to use the downstairs (Bistro) restaurant! For the second year running the food was poor (breaded fish was very greasy, for example) and this needs addressing |

The staff were very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was hot but often things had run out and had not been filled up again. What was there was very nicely cooked and laid out with lots or tea and toast. The bed was very uncomfortable and creaked very badly. We had to ask to have more tea and coffee in the rooms and our cups were not changed or washed during the whole time we were there. |

Gloomy appearance & unattractive design/furnishing. Poorly trained staff. Complicated, inconsistently presented & almost unintelligible pricing of evening meal for B&B guests. Poor sound insulation in bedrooms with noise from other guests (who were almost certainly well behaved). |

Friendly staff who were very helpful, clean and comfortable room. Central location convenient to public transport and shops Was not aware that there was no lift and we were on the second floor. As we are both senior citizens, we would have preferred ground or first floor accommodation but did not ask for this as we assumed there would be a lift if we were on a higher floor |

The on duty manager was the epitome of good "old fashioned" service and helpfulness. Small rooms but in fairness they suited the purpose |
