Since becomming the Mercure Hotel only the location Cleanlyness of allocated room, smelt of urine. Total lack of staff training,no lemons, ran out of Southern Comfort had to wait for some to be produced, then informed the lemons had been found, to late to be of any use to us. Pre Booked the resturant prior to arrival no record of the booking, was not informed at time of booking that there was no carvery that night, after I had deliberately enquired about the carvery. The Mercure may only be a 3 star hotel but overall the standards have slipped badly since in was The Ramada Jarvis

Excellent hotel! Good price for the rooms! Top venue if you want to go out in the city centre! Hotel staff was excellent. They even organised a bus for our group to take us into the city centre! Will definitely stay there again.

Nice room at a reasonable price It was pricey to eat at the hotel for what seemed like a fairly unexciting menu i.e burger £15!

The staff at the hotel were very helpful and efficient, they couldnt have been any better at their job!!!room was spotless..didnt have time to look but presume there was play area for children if not this would be highly recommended.Overall I was very happy with stay and would def.return.The bathrooms are modern and bright, maybe curtins and carpets could be a little brighter and fresher looking for younger couples appeal, but have to stress this did not at all take from our stay..Breakfast very good also.

We were looking for a one night stop over and this suited us perfectly. The main reason we chose this Hotel is because it still offered smoking rooms and although these days it is not PC to smoke - there are still millions of us that do. It was therefore a stress free place to be. Thank you. Also I would add that we have rebooked for later in the month for exactly the same reason.

The hotel receptionist didn't know the road directions to give us from Swansea. She just knew it was Phoenix way which ofcourse isn't on a road map. It was late at night and reading the small print map in the car was extremely difficult which added about 3/4 hour on to the journey for getting lost. The signing for the Hotel was inadequate. It would have been a lot more helpful if name of the hotel had been on the brown sign rather than just the word 'Hotel'.

Quiet location. Staff were friendly. Although the location seems more suited for business travel in that it is in the Enterprise Park, actually it is very convenient for all areas around Swansea. Lake behind hotel gives feeling of being more rural than it is. Beds/linen were very comfortable and room was prepared immaculately each day. Swimming pool was very warm so seems to have been fixed now from earlier reviews. Serves purpose well as mid-price hotel/alternative option to Holiday Inn, Premier Inn but with a bath and larger restaurant/bar/swimming pool. Restaurant food expensive, although fairly comparable to other chain hotels. Ground floor rooms mean that don't feel comfortable opening window wide for security reasons.

The hotel is of a high standard only let down by the bed which was uncompromisingly hard however the staff sorted it for the second night within 10 minutes of my mentioning it, excellent response. The food was very good and reasonably priced for a hotel. The bed mentioned above but it was sorted very quickly by the staff.

The Room Cleaning Staff Very good and very polite.Big Thank You to them. 1.Unable to use of Sauna--No previous notice. The hotel booking was made on Hotel facility (swimming pool &Sauna ) and Family room basics. 2. The Bar Staff seems NOT to know who is next even when you are waiting for long time.I had to wait for some time and to find the lady served to somebody who just walked in. also not even asked what i would like. Not very polite for bar staff as that is most important .

breakfast was good. There were 3 or 4 varieties of fresh cut fruit . dust on surfaces including doors of rooms. Long dingy corridors which retain odours because of absent ventilation. To be fair, this is not an uncommon problem of large hotels and it is the architecture to be blamed. You cant open your ground floor room window with out compromising security. Again, who designs these things and how do they survive?
