This beachfront hotel has dramatic views of Swansea Bay, and is a short walk from the center of town. Highway M4, golf courses and the Gower Peninsula are nearby.
Score from 403 reviews Very good
excellent value for accommodation, and very good service, nice to see local people being employed.
hospitality tray (tea/coffee etc) very poor on amount given and not what one would expect from this type of hotel.
evrething was a ok
price of beer
Adjoining lounge with sofa bed for toddler. Nice and quiet night with a nice swim and good breakfast.
Only downside was 'free films' didn't work.
For a 3 start the drink were so expensive and the food. I paid over £13.00 for a staek pie that had 3 pieces of meat in and the spring greens were soaked in salt. I was un sure on breakfast on check in but was told if I didn't book i would pay £4.00 ,ore the next morning!!!!!
loved the bed. ,so big and comfortable
not having fresh milk for my cuppa in the room.
Comfortable clean room Restaurant food and service good
Tv channels limited
the service and staff attitude
the swimming pool was too hot and the shower in the pool change room was not up to scratch
We stayed at this hotel as we were going to watch a rugby game and visit places around the city that I went to as a child so the location was good. The staff were very pleasant and always keen to help.
Everything in this place was falling apart. Tried to use the ironing board and it came off at the wall. We asked for an iron from the reception it came hours later after we had already left, we didn't ask of the staff around. This was the worst place I have ever stayed in. The kettle was broken, the shower head falling. I really don't know why this place is still open. I would never Ever return the Swansea Mercure hotel again, and wouldn't recommend anyone to either.
The staff and the service particularly, reception, bar, room service were all very friendly and quick. I'd read some negative reviews so was pleasantly surprised at the standard of the room which was very clean and warm with everything working, décor excellent. The location was ideal for me. This is basically a very good hotel which is let down by, perhaps, no more than a coat of paint. The corridors are foreboding with dark colours and every door and surround has chips or marks - not too difficult to put right. The experience, however, was good enough for me to use this hotel regularly in future.
Pretty much everything
Restuarant a bit pricey. Some road noise
Friendly accommodating staff Comfortable (Privilege) room
Restaurant menu dominated by burgers and pizzas. Breakfast not great
Staff very helpful and cooperative
Rooms starting to look a bit tired and shabby I personally think they need some tlc and invetment.
Large comfy bed
Cleanliness!! Everywhere was grubby and dusty and in need of a good scrub, also room service, supposed to be 24hr but couldn't get a drink in the night :/ , very disappointed with this place, not good value for money at all.
All staff from supervisors to waiters were well trained , efficient and friendly. Bedrooms varied but despite needing some updating were clean & comfortable. B'fast more than adequate & dinner fine. Would stay again .
At times lounge used by loud talking business men carrying out their meetings. Ditto for loud business calls on mobiles. Otherwise comfy for we who just wanted a quiet drink & read
Everything about the place
Staff were very pleasant, polite and extremely helpful. The room was comfortable and clean. Overall good value for money.
All staff were very professional, food was good, room very comfortable and quiet.
Leaving this hotel
the rooms need a good refurb, I ate in the bar area, very overpriced food, not good quality, I was not told a different cheaper menu was available half hour after I ordered!!!! would not recommend, these days you can get far better hotels for the price.
Bed was very comfortable and the room was a good temperature.
We did not like the fact that you had to pay an extra £12 to watch the television after paying £85 for the room. For people with children who want the tv on this works out quite expensive !
Very helpfull staff who printed out a route for me to my next destination
Poor breakfast-no croisants or pain o chocolate(this was a French owened hotel) The pool was not available
Standards were dreadful, decor was ancient, fittings were loose,
food was very good.
The Pool was out of order, Gutted, and the Gym area is poor.
I loved the city
They charged me double and claimed they dint have any record of transaction
