The wedding going on downstairs impacted on our stay due to very loud music being played which we could hear in our room after we had gone to bed.
Staff very helpful regarding all requests.
Nice reception area with lots of seating, for drinks, chatting etc.
Slightly frosty reception staff
Damp on walls , no pressure on shower, funny smell, bar closed Saturday night at 11pm , no drinks or biscuits for 100 pound a night with no breakfast very poor value for outskirts of York
The setting and the comfortable feel of the Hotel. The Restaurant food was excellent as were the staff. Overall we had a very enjoyable stay and would go back. Katie B
Rooms we booked were not available because of a flooding issue, which was ok as unpredictable. But we have been transferred to a 3 stars hotel (downgrade) in the disable room, 30 minutes away from York. Eventually we managed to get a slightly better room, but this was totally unacceptable.
Staff very good
No TV remote in room, only 2 Tea bags and expensive.
Beautiful Hotel. Lovely decor and surroundings. Not too far out of city centre.
Same price as Premier, nicer surroundings
Bed was past its best
Nice room, Friendly staff.
I was very disappointed that the breakfast was only available on the Sunday morning from 8am. I had to leave before 8am to get my flight for my next business appointment. Definitely not a hotel for business people that is on the move early.
No mini fridge
The room very spacious and clean. The breakfast was excellent.
Reception staff not very good. Booke3d an early morning call, which we never got. When we went to ask why the receptionist had the telephone permanently stuck to her ear and never acknowledged us..
comfortable and cosy
The room size and the food. Bath was a little small and the hotel a little too far outside the city.
good location handy for park and ride
Stayed in a standard double room for 3 nights Allocated x1 hand towel between us were allocated bath towel each. Travelled from Scotland a biscuit to accompany tea tray would have been nice Room 206 bathroom fan sounded like airplane taking off, Apart from that pleasant stay
Excellent location on outskirts of York, must minutes from Park & Ride. Room was excellent in size, lovely decor and very comfortable. Staff were very friendly, helpful and always greeted with a smile. Will definitely return.
It was very poor quality in the room when we had booked a top suite. Bathroom wasnt up to a high standard. The desk had burn / water marks on it and looked cheap and nasty - I wouldnt expect to see this in a quality room and again in the bedroom underneath the mirror the piece of furniture was poor quality as though something wet had raised part of the wood.
The hotel was a great find. Staff helpful and friendly, food in the restaurant was lovely and real value. The hotel room was a decent size and had everything you needed. Will definitely be returning to this hotel 5 out of 5 from me.
We really enjoyed our stay, reception staff were very pleasant and helpful, we have stayed here before and both times our room was very clean. We will deffinatly return.
Easy to find. Reception friendly and helpful. Disabled room facilities are very good Late breakfast till 12. Staff all very friendly and polite
Bricks in the path near reception loose
The breakfast was good
Too hot to sleep and the wedding party disco that kept me awake
Communal spaces seemed nice but there was a wedding on so some of it wasn't usable.
The location was the primary reason for staying here as I was attending a wedding in the area. For over £100 a night I expected something a bit nicer. The communal spaces were nice but the rooms are dated. When I opened the door to the room it had a faint smell of mould coming from the bathroom. Not the greatest of starts. It just looks like the rooms could do with updating. I've stayed in much nicer rooms for way less. It could be to do with York being more expensive in general but if that's the reason, it's a 20 minute bus ride into York centre so I didn't find it represented good value for money. I also think that when you're paying over £100 for the room (I think I paid £120) I'd expect some form of breakfast to be included but they wanted an extra £10 for that. We wandered down the road to a nice pub instead. My sister also had a poor experience here as she cut her hand open on the shower fixture which came off in her hand when she tried to adjust it. It was handled fairly poorly as they asked the housekeeper to fill in the forms (must have been their responsibility) but they didn't speak much English and ended up filling in all the details incorrectly. Half an hour wasn't much, but when you're on a weekend away it's lost time spent waiting around. Wouldn't stay again.
It was very nice with a great room.
Staff were friendly
Sensors in ground floor bedrooms. Making you think of security or cameras Bar area is not attractive for eating food Breakfast, if busy is very slow.
Staff listened attentively to our complaints and did their best in the face of no overall manager at present.
It took ages to find our room (418). One of the signs was very high above a door instead of being on the door itself. No lift in this part of the hotel. Insufficient towels for this twin-bedded room. No rubber non-slip mat provided to go in the bath. A notice told us that we could ask at reception - scarcely practical if one has changed into a dressing gown and has to trail down a staircase and across a large lounge to reach the reception desk. The room was badly designed with beds protruding across the hinges of the door and television table covering part of a radiator. A particularly dangerous feature was a metal-capped door-stop in the bathroom. It was exactly where an unwary foot might have landed on getting out of the bath.. Only one arm chair in a room for two people. Nowhere to put my shirts. The wardrobe was too small and, when folded, the shirts would not fit in a drawer. Dining room like an enormous aircraft hangar and it was very cold at breakfast - even the staff were shivering. The dining room colour scheme was bilious. We were invited to sit "in the window", but declined, as it faces onto a brick wall only a few feet away.
