Score from 159 reviews Good
Poor front of house staff bedroom carpet was stained and no lights in bathroom
Helpful receptionists in the morning, location ideal for our travelling needs
Dark room with 1 light not working, old fashioned, only one over-worked person on reception who had to phone someone else to sort out other travellers issues
the whole hotel needs a good deep clean and refurb!
Comfortable clean excellent breakfast
Nothing all perfect
The hotel was lovely and the staff were very pleasant
Room was lovely, nice comfortable bar area, overall a nice place to stay.
Had a slight issue with our room door, but that didn't spoil our stay.
It was cheap and cheerful and was like a maze n d hotel . But ok value for a money. Breakfast was like plastic but just ate ceral but was fine.
Hallway like a maze and no lights in the corridor. It was abit scary. But just got on with it. House keeper was so nice and helpful as I needed a cot and she found it for me.
If you are staying in the Trentham/Newcastle-Under Lyme area then this large hotel is good value for money. It is clean, comfortable and quiet with a great full breakfast service. Plenty of parking space and attentive staff.
Ok, the place is a little dated and perhaps not quite the 'grand' of its early days, however it will fulfill your needs more than adequately otherwise I could find nothing to complain about.
Noise from the people talking next door late into the night and other people smoking and talking either to each other or on their phones late into the night outside the bedroom window which had to be open because there is no airconditioning
some problems with opening windows to cool room.
The rooms could have been a bit cleaner. Doors didnt open easily. Scratches and wear. Dirt in window sills. TV kept flickering
Most staff were excellent and friendly. The location was ok. Evening meal was nice. There was a bath. Bar was cosy. Happy hour prices reasonable.
Wifi might as well not have existed as it was impossibly slow. I checked in for two nights and, after carrying bags/cases upstairs for the second night, I had to drag them all bag downstairs for security to get my room key reprogrammed. Bedroom was clean but state of the windows terrible - I had to lift the window frame up to close the window. Despite digital TV being reprogrammed over a week earlier... the hotel hadn't bothered and I had to reprogrammed it in order to watch BBC news... even then the signal was sporadic and tv kept losing signal.
Room furnishings require upgrade If you can't operate the blinds, why have them?
Nice bar, bar food was excellent. Convenient for motorway
Difficult to find staff at times. Had to wait at reception for 5 minutes before anyone came to check me in. Room tired. Stained carpet, very poor lighting. Bathroom - Very dusty blind, no light for shaving. Breakfast poor, if there at all.
Good value for money
Was noisy as we were right next to the corridor door so could hear everytime people walked through
Access to local sites and M6 Breakfast
Kept waiting at reception on arrival. TV in room 17 very poor signal. easy chair could do with a new cover
I loved how the staff went out of their way to arrange ice buckets in the room designed how I described and placed in the room for a specific time after requested. Also I requested the staff to go into the suite and turn on the lamps ready so that when I arrived with my partner the room which I had previously setup with presents, cake and decorations was lit perfectly and even my partner described the suite as luxurious. Great stay!
very good breakfast indeed everything you could ask for
not disabled friendly. no lifts. also more staff. when you wanted a bar drink the girl on reception had to serve us at one time other times had to wait for bar person to serve as they had other duties to carry out

Easy to find.staff friendly and helpful
Hotel and rooms were extremely hot but no thermostat in rooms.opened window but wedding party smoking and loud. Appeared clean but actually had been sloppily done.
Restaurant was good for breakfast Staff were friendly
The room was worn The radiators on full when we arrived and the windows wide open. Bath/showering facilities weren't nice Carpets had burns and very worn.
Hotel was relatively cheap and breakfast quite good value. Check out was efficient and staff very sympathetic about disturbed night.
Long wait to book in. Didn't sleep well because of noise from slamming doors. Room was fairly clean but corridors had strong must smell. Strange system of deducting money from your card which they then paid back
Nice bar and restaurant areas. Easy access to motorway from hotel. Good selection for breakfast which made stay good value for money.
Check in staff (one lady in particular) very rude and not very welcoming. Poor hospitality/communication skills. Plastic disposable cups in bathroom.
It was like sleeping on the Highway. No double glazing, the windows were wet in the morning. Let's say 'down stairs ' was very good but 'upstairs' was terrible. I will be coming to Stoke on business over the next 2 months and will have to think hard about staying with you. The breakfast was excellent but I need my sleep, the pillows were also very cheap and uncomfortable .
