comfort, luxe, very good breakfast, staff very professional
NO SPA, no swimming pool, no fitness
I have stayed there on a few occasions. I like everything about it; food, rooms, staff, atmosphere, style.
Having to leave!
Staff are a very exceptional team ;.absolutely make your stay the best experience you will ever hope to have ,well done everyone .
No complaints whatsoever
The quality and ambience of he hotel, and the good quality of the staff.
Food at dinner on Friday was not good. We chose the A La Carte menu and were very disappointed at the poor quality, quantity, and presentation for a quite expensive meal. I have already expressed my view to one of the Maitre Ds.
Excellent meal in the dining room with excellent service
not king sized bed and pillows not comfortable
We loved this hotel, made u very welcome.very cosy, loved everything about it,will 100% be going back. Also breakfast was great!
Staying one night was not long enough!
Room was a little bit too warm at night
hotel itself (buildíng, rooms), christmas decoration, comfort of the beds, heated bathroom floor, mini bar, complementary offerings
cleanliness of linen and towels upon arrival, breakfast services, general staff performance
It's a beautiful hotel with friendly staff and excellent food!
The bed was unbearably hard and so uncomfortable and the pillars were also flat and not comfy this spoilt the stay a little unfortunately apart from that it's a lovely place!
We stayed here for one night. We arrived at lunchtime and were given a nice table in the restaurant , overlooking the garden where we ate a delicious 3 course festive lunch. The staff were very attentive , but not overpowering. We had booked a junior suite which was quiet, warm, and comfortable. We were given a bottle of complimentary champagne as were celebrating a special occasion. There was a good ambience in the hotel overall which made for a relaxing stay.
There was nothing to dislike.
Everything was spot on! we even enjoyed our breakfast in bed :) will definitely go again.
none at all...
A very enjoyable stay, comfort and service and location excellent.
very dimly lit bedrooms
Gorgeous hotel, good location! Rooms very clean and spacious & friendly staff! Highly recommend!
The building itself was very traditional and lots of character.
I was overcharged for my room after a last minute change!
staff were fantastic and couldn't be more helpful
Struggling to find something which wasn't positive
Very comfortable Victoria style hotel in a good location.
The bedroom was very dark; more lighting required.
Comfortable hotel , lovely rooms and efficient yet personable staff . Nothing too much trouble . 10 mins from the centre of town . Near enough to enjoy the hustle and bustle , far enough away to sleep and relax !
The lighting in our beautiful room was slightly lacking in one corner . But too dark . Also large curtains tricky to open ☺️
The hotel provided good service. The room was good with an excellent bathroom.
Small room. Limited menu. Food average but expensive.
The warm Geordie hospitality
good sized room ( though sold as a junior suite - so it should have been ) Lovely old building. Very quiet location Plenty hot water and nice fluffy towels Nice fresh milk in the fridge and nice biscuits and fresh fruit and bottled water
Bed was 2 singles pushed together with the inevitable ridge. The bottom sheet didn't tuck in properly revealing that there was a very thin and narrow mattress protector and no topper- so not the best bed. Despite asking for coffee that was not decaff we didn't get any and there was no explanation - our message was just removed. The rails etc in the bathroom would have been useful if either of us had been in a wheelchair - but neither of us were.
The staff couldn't do more for you. Even though they couldn't get us into the restaurant they managed to secure a table at a local restaurant. The rooms were excellent and the whole feel of the hotel top notch.
Only suggestion would be to include breakfast in the price of the room as nowhere local to go and cost is high for the room. Also room service could benefit from providing individual trays to eat from.
Staff were very professional, from reception to waiting staff. We were greeted by a member of staff wishing my husband a happy birthday. And promptly upgraded to a suite. Totally UN expected, with complimentary champagne in the room .a fantastic experience. Thank you
Quality of room, especially bed and bathroom!
Cost of breakfast at £18 extra, would prefer an included rate
Pleasant and efficient reception staff. Comfortable, quiet room. Good dining facilities and excellent dinner. Attentive staff but not over-fussy
hot water not so hot room could have been a bit larger
Comfortable bed, fantastic staff and nice touches such as toiletries and hand written welcome note from manager.
No atmosphere in bar, drinks are a touch overpriced and for £130 they could have thrown in breakfast.
