Score from 290 reviews Very good
Ideal location - far enough from city centre to be quiet, and yet only a 10 minute walk to the shops, and a 5 minute walk to the Plymouth Pavillions. Very welcoming, bedroom clean and comfortable.
everything was spot on
Keith was welcoming, nothing too much trouble, helped us with local information. The guest house was immaculate both in decor and cleanliness. Fantastic English breakfast too.
There wasn't anything not to like!
Location, room, friendly and helpful staff, value for money.
Only toilet at top of hotel
Rooms comfortable and clean, great location. Staff friendly. Certain to stay here again.
The wifi is always unstable.
The room is tidy and clean, with perfume. The host is friendly. The location is good, closed to the hoe park, near the sea.
Very convenient for the hoe, Barbican and city centre
Great night's sleep in a cosy room with separate shower and toilet. The breakfast service is really good and you're just a short walk from the Hoe and lighthouse.
Very clean ensuite, although shower could have been stronger. Comfortable bed, slept very well.
As already stated by other travellers, the breakfast is not that great. Not much choice at all and only full English available. Glasses and napkin were very dirty. Staff friendliness could be a bit better, too. They are not unfriendly, but it feels like everything is an effort to them.
The room, facilities in the room, bed and bath were top. Clean, nicely decorated, amazing view (No 7, third floor), comfortable bed. Only downside, the shower was electric and did not have much pressure.
No fuss - No Nonsense.
Comfort, spacious room and good location
Room was a great size, very good value for money. Breakfast was probably one of the best I've had, Keith the owner is such a nice guy.. Great stay!! Will use every time I'm in Plymouth!!
Can't think of anything
Cleanliness Location Friendly welcome on arrival Helpfulness of owner
Made welcome by the owners and staff as soon as we arrived. Well decorated and very clean and tidy, stood out amongst all the other b&bs in the street. Good selection of fruit and cereals and a full English breakfast.
Parking is on street only so ask hosts for vouchers (£3 per day)
Stylish interior design, not too many cushions on bed.
I had to go to plymouth for an interview and staying at Jewells gave me a very comfortable base. And I'm sure the hearty full English breakfast helped get me the job! Thanks again
The room was nice and clean, and the breakfast was lovely , and it was in a good position for the Hoe, The Barbican and also for town. The owners were friendly and very helpful. Will definitely be back.
Everything was new, modern, stylish and with the cctv in the foyer/ reception you felt secure.
Power shower consistently went from boiling hot to freezing cold on any setting. Wifi was temperamental.
Well fitted out, good breakfast, not dated and good room facilities.
I was given room 10 (twin room) on the top floor which meant climbing 64 stairs. Be warned there is no lift in this guest house so if you have problems with stair climbing then sadly it will not be for you unless you can organize a room on the first floor. Nothing else not to like here to my knowledge.
friendly staff , very very clean and well presented and great breakfast. Shower worked a treat and the towels were soft and clean. Bed was very comfortable and the hot drinks tray in the room was fine. Ironing board and iron also safe provided in the room along with a hair dryer too.
there were problems with the WiFi (inoperative for long periods)
Very polite staff
