Decor very poor and damaged and also wallpaper ripped bathroom shower head broke. General management of house run down
Friendly Staff Location
No upkeep in the maintenance of the room Foreign guests seem to use next room as a meeting place. No bar facilities. No eating facilities. Filthy carpets. Generally needs a lot of money spending on it, until it does I won't be staying again.
The decorations were so back dated, the bed wasn't a double but a quarto. The headboard was filthy and the whole place looked as if it was from the middle aged. The room had chairs that looked like they came from a nursing home. There was no drinking facilities provided in the room, there was no working TV. Lamp shade was full of dust. The bed a lot so felt like pure springs the duvet looked like a flat sheet. The windows were cracked.
I would stay here again. The place was grotty. Dark, old and dingy. The TV didn't work and the staff couldn't fix it or give us an alternative. Disappointing.
The hotel is rather old. Not too clean.
Good value for money. Good wifi. Great chip shop virtually next door. En suite bathroom.
Fire alarm went off at 5:45am because some fool was smoking in their room - though not the hotel's fault. Bathroom was a little bit smelly.
My bedsheets were not changed throughout my stay there(5 nights). Even when I brought it to the notice of the staff on duty, he promised they will check on it before I will be back but they never did. My TV didn't work, I complained, that too was never looked into. In fact I was so fed up with everything there that I left earlier than scheduled and didn't bother with refund.
Plenty of restaurants close by.
The room was dirty paper ripped of the wall. The bed was like sleeping on a metal tray. TV broken and not worth leaving in the room. Even the kettle didn't work. This was the worst room I have ever stayed in.
Helpful staff Strong wifi En suite bathroom Free off-road parking
Could do with a bit of tlc, but fine for a budget hotel.
It was cheap
This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at, regardless of price. The list of things I didn't like is a very long one but here are some of the highlights. There was graffiti on the walls, the bathroom sink was not secured to the wall properly, mould on the hallway walls, a book was propping up the TV, there were two TV remote controls but none for the TV in question, the balcony had cigarette stubs on it and a baked bean tin had been used as a repair to the balcony roof, dirty single glazed windows which could not keep the road noise out and the list goes on but I won't. If you stay at this place after reading this review then God help you.
The employee was friendly (as you would expect)
The decoration all in all was terrible, old and outdated. In my first room on the top floor with a very low ceiling (I had to duck everywhere) and the TV didn't work. They moved me to the bottom floor in a room with a mattress that was so old the springs were visible. I had to sleep on top of the blanket to try and get a bit of comfort. Will never go back.
Location is alright the nearest pub amber house is good and cheap
The hotel the corridors and the room is looking horrible, smelly, dirty. Stains everywhere ( clean sheet and towels, so the state of the room is not the cleaner's fault!) Dont choose this place!! Pay a little more extra instead and go elsewhere! Trust me you will regret if you choose this!
It had Wi fi, was near a great fish and chip shop and some other shops across the road, and was on the main road into the city centre
It was dark and dismal. The building is like a rabbit warren of dark and unpleasant corridoors with confusing signs to the many rooms. My room was dark with low lighting; the window did not have a handle so could not lock, - surely invalidating insurance?; there was dust everywhere; the tea tray was not even given a cursory clean when the things were replenished; one of the sockets was just about hanging off the wall; the furniture was old and beyond tatty; the age of the divan bed was not even disguised with a valance. This place needs a COMPLETE overhaul. There are many many hotels on Hagley road leading to Broad street - stay in one of them.
The room was to dark and the tv did not work in the room
Old fashioned furniture and fittings, a four poster bed, winding corridors, a display cabinet with crockery in the room, an old-fashioned look to the bathroom - it felt like a 1950s bed and breakfast, comforting, individual and not commercialised or santised.
The bathroom sink was partly blocked and slow draining and the shower fitting didn't work - and the maintenance man wouldn't be back until after I checked out the following day. Two of the three window panes were hidden by the curtains (as it turns out they had been boarded up.)
Mould in bathroom mould in bedroom cello tape holding shower together curtains broken window latch broken bathroom door split bath panel mouldy toilet disgusting state of disrepair would not let my dog sleep there quite frankly no kettle had to ask 3times
Cheap rates , big room
Cant adjust the temperature of the room its too hot
the reception is very friendly, the place is so original, if you're looking for the perfect service in a common room with no default, pass your way. A lot of charm in a old fashion deco.
a few bulbs are missing in the lamps, wich create a dark atmosphere on the evening
Everything, Couldnt sleep due to it being incredibly cold, contacted reception who made a show of playing with the radiators in the room but to be honest they just had the entire system switched off. My daughter cut her foot on the jagged carpet runners because the carpet did not cover them the bed was lumpy it was simply awful!!
The family room was dirty and through the window was full of rubbish, then you had to go up another flight of stairs to where my children were supposed to sleep on a camp bed with the window fallen out
