Not clean - terrible

Weird building inside

No dining, No real bar, cold

Easy to find, car park, friendly

No window in my room, so woulsn't suit a person who was claustrophobic. It was also very hot in my room, as the radiator was on full and you couldn't turn it down or open a window.

Very poor, didn"t like anything about the hotel. Was very disappointed.

Everything. From facilities to the staff, bit like fawlty towers, allocating rooms that were already occupied.

the hotel staff were nice the room was clean, but in general the hotel was nice.

the bed covers smelt unclean on the first night, there was no WIFI in the rooms

The king-size bed was comfortable, but it lacked a headboard.

Our room was classified as "de luxe" and it was not. There was only one bedlight for a double room, the television remote control did not work, the bathroom was unfinished and there was a bulb missing in the bedroom, resluting in a somewhat gloomy stay. This could be an interesting and quirky hotel with multiple staircases and puzzling corridors, but it very much had the air of a work in progress. They would have been better to update one section of the hotel at a time so as to secure recommendations. It's interesting that the Booking.com website contains more photographs than the hotel's own website.

The breakfast was not up to standard and there were not enough staff available. We asked for butter on 3 occasions and eventually had to go to the kitchen to get it myself. The tea was made up in a flask and was therefore undrinkable - I had to ask for hot water and tea bags. The sausages were raw in the middle, we requested for some more that were cooked properly, but again they were raw. We spoke to the chef but he did not understand us. I spoke to the duty manager but he offered no regrets, I aked for the complaints book, but there wasn't one. We paid gbp 5 for each breakfast, and they were definitely not worth the money. Also raw sausage can cause salmonella so would suggest the chef is trained to cook properly.

Booked based on the price, so can't complain really - as one guest commented - you get what you pay for! Good parts - location was good as going to the nia and is in a good location to get on main roads, rooms are very spacious which was nice. Great Mexican restaurant next door also.

The layout of the building is very weird, floors on different levels, a total rabbit warren and disorientating. Not necessarily a bad point but confusing for guests! Also very hard to tell who is staff and who is a guest! Parking is around the back of the hotel but very badly posted so no idea upon arrival. Cleanliness of the place leaves a lot to be desired, I didn't want to use the kettle in my room because of the sticky black marks, and the teaspoon didnt look like it'd seen soap since the last guest used it. The tiles in the bathroom look like black mould is getting a good hold, and the room had a pretty horrible odour although I think this is because the last person had smoked in there. Didn't use the shower in the morning for hygiene reasons - pretty scuzzy! Petty point but annoying to have incredibly cheap loo roll as well that makes it impossible to even blow your nose effectively!! Only one pillow provided by the way - bring your own if you want more. Breakfast was pretty bad, the 'continental' consists of cereal or toast, that's pretty much it. The full english is pretty poor (tinned mushrooms and burnt sausage) and not worth £5 extra. No phone in room to call reception, and they also advertised that hairdriers were provided and they werent. It looks like they were trying to do up the rooms a bit but there's a lot of work to be done.

The room was shabby and in need of an extensive refurbishment. This place was previously known as Jonathan's and was renowned on quality, unfortunately with the name the quality has left also. The whole place has still got the decor & carpets of at least 10 years ago. The room (408) had a 2 doors one leading into a corridor outside was unlockable and had to have a chair put against it. The tv didn't work & the kettle, which looked very old, just simmered & never boiled. The carpet was in poor condition and had very old iron burns in it. It's a shame that very little has been to the hotel because it could be real gem where it is located with a bit of effort & updating on quality.

Staff were friendly

Room was too basic, no main light just side lights. Curtains tied closed so couldnt close them properly at night. Walls and floors in both rooms were covered in stains, pillows were flat and non existant had to use pillows from the car. breakfast was cold, tea and coffee were kept in flasks rather than served fresh

Considering it was only about £18 a night for a large, comfortable room with en-suite, with 24 hour reception, it was superb value for money.

Love the way that each room are named after towns/cities within the midlands. Everything was spotless, the staff were very friendly and helpful, it's located in such a convenient spot and the price is remarkable - perfect in each and every way!
