The king-size bed was comfortable, but it lacked a headboard. Our room was classified as "de luxe" and it was not. There was only one bedlight for a double room, the television remote control did not work, the bathroom was unfinished and there was a bulb missing in the bedroom, resluting in a somewhat gloomy stay. This could be an interesting and quirky hotel with multiple staircases and puzzling corridors, but it very much had the air of a work in progress. They would have been better to update one section of the hotel at a time so as to secure recommendations. It's interesting that the Booking.com website contains more photographs than the hotel's own website.

The hotel has a lot of potential however its a little worn. The room was furnished lovely. The staff were friendly and help enough. The price I paid was ok. My room smelt of damp and there was mould in the bathroom. The bed was very low also. The layout was confusing and was up&down lots of steps. It would not be sutable for anyone with mobility problems.

Friendly Staff, Clean room, good location The only observation i would make; is the chairs in the room could have been comfier, and the TV could have been bigger and accessiable to be viewed from the bed.

The politeness of staff was fair and the service from the staff was ok but not great. Liked the fact it was cheap at first but you certainly get what you pay for. I did not like the fact our room was dirty, the furniture was old, rotting and was uncomfortable. The corriders are long winded and confusing as there isn't very well sign posted. It was cold in our room, dark and the windows were not up to standard so when it rains you can't hear it full on. The had the upstairs attic so all we saw was the roof, and a broken drainage pipe that was leaking out onto the window. Didn't have a decent, kept waking up due to loud people, people having sex throughout the night. Overall i woudn't recommend the hotel especially if young children or elderly people due to dampness.

Limited but location and parking facility. Started with being charged for paying with a debit card to unclean room, poor decor, lumpy beds (springs), questionable safety (wires taped together rather then joined correctly)

Kotrina was knowledgeable, professional friendly. The building was "fun," with many corridors, places to go. Probably typically English, but fun for an American family. Front restaturant/pub had a nice style of decoration. Better room upkeep would be nice. Ran out of toilet paper!

The Staff were very helpful and there is plenty of parking with 24hr cctv. I was there with my son (17) and we both found the beds very uncomfortable, you can feel every spring and bump.

It was cheap. £20 a night. The rooms were massive with seperate seated areas. The rooms were dark and dingy, i had to boil the kettle in order to have a hot bath, the curtains were not very good. But at £20 a night, i did'nt expect the ritz. For workmen who just need a cheep bed for a few nights & somewhere to wash it's ok. But I would'nt want to take the Mrs there.

The location of the Hotel was good. It was easy to get to. The staff were really good & friendly upon arrvial. The rooms were a good size and had character. The breakfast which is supplied by a seperate entity to the hotel was very poor, I would recommend that you look for breakfast elsewhere. Even the hotel staff were embarassed about the breakfast offering we had.

This is ideal for value. I had a good sized, single room on a budget. It had its own bathroom. Parking was free. I got a good deal on booking.com. The location was close to Pitman training and motorway links so ideal for me for sitting intensive course. Close to amenities which is also handy. It had a tv dvd in room which I didn't expect. The lobby and restaurant is very well presented on entry. The down side of my stay was combating the awkward flights of stairs which were quite tight to climb with a heavy suitcase. The mattress which was to thin for and the bed linen was paper thin so I was cold at night. I brought my own quilt and pillows for comfort. I didn't expect the Ritz though and I would stay again as it is cost effective. It is acceptable for the price.

Very cheap was the best bit - worked nicely on an undergrad budget. The reception staff were also really friendly. Good size of room - better than student accommodation! I'd read the other reviews online, so I was sort of dreading it - many of the things in the reviews were true, but I didn't have as horrific a time as some of them! There was a bit of a chocolate bar wrapper left on the floor, and exposed sharp points on the floor, the window catch fell off in my hand and the lack of ability to turn the radiator off kind of sucked - it helped that I was expecting worse!

I can only say the staff were very helpful but the hotel needs to be demolished as it has gone past the makeover stage .The bedrooms were so basic they did not have a headboard or valance on the bed. The breakfast room was like a second hand furniture ware house, not one table or chair matched. The food compaired to a bad motorway service station. £20 per room £5 for breakfast one can hardley complain . Lesson learned you get what you pay for Never again. The Staff

The rooms were well laid out and well furnished and comfortable The first room I had was excellent because it had freeview tv. The 2nd room had limited tv channels and boiled down to a choice of russian news service or a programme about railways. I would stay again in the first room but not in the 2nd room. I need my evening tele
