U get what u pay for. Cheep and cheerful
Close to were we needed to be.
This hotel was not a budget hotel it was a complete disgrace. the rooms were beyond tatty they were in a state of disrepair dirty smell and in one case the electrics were dangerous. the linen was dirty the mattresses were all stained and unclean. no tea or coffee or tv that worked. no shower rails and creatures swimming in the bath. The whole hotel was outdated and un kempt.
Everything,it's not the best hotel I've stayed in. But it's close to being the worst
Clean Bed linin
Everything Else.Peeling Wallpaper, Smelly
Location Room was spacious and functional
Our room needed an upgrade on the bathroom facilities. Simple coat, towel hook wood have helped.
Bed comfortable, room clean and tidy, bed comfortable.
Carpets aged, rooms difficult to get to through several doorways and sets of steps.
Friendliness of staff Location of hotel
Ripped sheets Ripped bed Room needed redecorating Poor cleanliness of carpets throughout hotel
Convenient access from M40/M42 motorway (5mins) and to Edgbaston cricket ground (15mins). Attended cricket finals day at Edgbaston and just wanted a cheap hotel. Was apprehensive after reading other reviews but folks, it is a CHEAP hotel, don't expect the Ritz!! Free WiFi very good strength. McDs, chippy and Indian restaurant all next door and free parking.
TV didn't work and no remote control, though didn't use it anyway. Only one light had a bulb that worked.
filthy and stunk
No intercom, no TV
proximity to where I needed to be. parking was ok they had tried to show directions to rooms which did help find them - we would have stood no chance otherwise
above an indian restaurant - indeed had to go thru the restaurant to get to rooms - yet no smell of food!!!!suspicious! hotel is like a rabbit warren - corridors on different levels, constant up and down 3 or 4 stairs - it was like the hammer house of horrors - shabby chic without the chic. wallpaper peeling in one of the bedrooms, plaster falling off ceiling, hole in roof, tv not working and no remote, all handles on drawers were sticky. Other room ok except no bedside lamps & toilet seat broken. Both rooms desperately in need of woodwork being cleaned and probably painted. We ensured we knew where the fire exits were just in case. carpets had been lovely when first laid
Room very unclean, toilet sink falling apart, very dirty carpets, damp everywhere. bed was very small. dirty furniture, tv didn't work
Room felt unsecure - no way to lock door when inside or leaving, window had no handle to close properly, let alone lock. General poor condition, needs some MAJOR maintenance and redecorating
Dirty No towels No toilet paper Broken window Old and broken furniture Keep away unless you are homeless
Wifi Room was a good size
Staff were rude Hotel was a maze Insecure car park No toilet paper Room was falling apart Broken window which couldn't lock General damage throughout
My car didn't actually get smashed or vandalized, which I think was a miracle
Seriously, if you have ANYTHING of value i.e. car, computer, jewelry then don't stay here it might go missing or get damaged. If you have little money and nothing, it'll be ok, although the walls are paper thin so you'll sleep badly. This place is simply not worth it - do yourself a BIG favor and spend more money and time to find a better place. I think booking.com should not have this place on their 'books'
Was clean and presentable. Just dated.
Double bed matress was very soft and you could feel the springs and only had 2 pillows on it. Which i thought was strange for a double.
The pub over the road.
The bugs in the bed that bit me all over. The bugs all over my bag in morning. This place is dirty, horrible stay away its not even a good budget hotel
Very creepy hostel with very creepy rooms. Al rooms were once fancy but are now in a state of decay. Very noisy. Not a best inn at all.
The rooms were unkept. Towels were changed on the 5th night of our stay. The TV size is just about 9inches. The whole rooms odour was unpleasant. I cannot recommend Birmingham Best Inn to friends or relatives.
Locality. We needed a hotel close to where our subcontractors (including the director) were working. This fitted the bill, tariff wise. There is not a lot of money provided for nights out, just £40.00 per man per night for food and accommodation.
OMG, i would never ever send anyone there again.Windows would not open and the heating was on in the middle of a heat wave. No hot water. filthy toilet. sticky carpets. Most uncomfortable bed the director had slept in. He has been doing this job and traveling the country for over 30 years. This was THE WORST EVER HOTEL. Rude unhelpful & obstinate staff. Somehow, on arrival the rooms allocation should have been a twin and a single. They got a double and a single. 2 Grown men were not going to share the same bed!! A room swap was asked for, the booking person kicked up and pretended to search for another room then allocated the same double room & charged extra money to boot. TV did not work. front desk said someone would be along to sort it. Desk was told they were going out for some food. When they came back TV did not work to which the desk said "you went out"! Reply was i told you we were going out for food why did you not say i had to stay until someone had been? No cleaning of rooms between days. They were all so fed up they stayed later at work on the second day and worked into the night just so they did not have to spend another night in the house of horrors. BOOK THIS ROOM AT YOUR PERIL. It is not worth the stress even though it is affordable.
dirty sheets, dirty towel, asked for a pillow - not given, windows didn't shut properly, radiator came on at night (it was 30 degrees outside), wallpaper peeling of walls no soap, no mug so couldn't have a drink, i understand the hotel is budget hotel but this doesn't mean that standards have to be so appalling - if you want people to recommend you then i suggest a slight overhaul to make it more appealing may be in order
If your looking for a standard hotel this is not for you. It is taken straight out of the 1890's. Huge rooms oak side boards 2 wing back chairs and a huge round table were in my room as well as the biggest bed I have ever slept in bath and shower with a oak and Mable dresser. Fast WiFi. Loved the quirkyness of it all. All for £22 per night
Stayed a week room was cleaned once stained carpet. Dark corridors no bed side lights etc I stay in budget hotels 4 weeks out of 5; wish I could stay here every week
Nice place for the money not expensive so can't expect to much
Could be cleaner couldn't connect to WiFi bit of painting needed
