It was cheaper than other hotels as it was Bank Holiday and other hotels stayed in the past were more expensive as was peak weekend. Bathroom was acceptably clean although difficult to say if room was as dark old furniture gave a dingy appearance - bed looked clean and towels were clean.

Name on Website picture showed name as Jonathans so couldnt find hotel although did realise afterwards name had been changed. Service poor no offer to carry bag to room despite the fact I had pointed out was disabled. Told there was 24 hour service from reception but no phone in room so no way of contact except by walking and negotiating a lot of step and long way had I need something in the night would not have been able to contact anyone. Was told I would have a "Wake up call" no call was received - husband rang to ask someone ensure I was awake - no one did but eventually I rang him and he rang back to cancel. Arrived in time to see last of Snooker on tv - tv didnt work aerial so bad was unusable eventually someone did come but he was of use promised to get someone to "fix it" at 8.30 the next day - as I was leaving at 8.10 was of no use whatsoever. No Duvet provided just a cover containing a thin blanket pillows very hard and lumpy springs stuck in me so very uncomfortable. Very noisy generator or machine even with window closed was loud kept me awake. Furnishing very old and ring marked dark dingy bed appeared clean but uncomfortable very pleased on staying one night.

The room we were given had a seperate lounge area with tv, table and chairs, record player, victorian style fireplace, books and 2 arm chairs..this was more than we'd bargained for and was good..but everything was ancient! And very creepy!

Really old and creepy hotel! Didnt sleep well that night for fear! Seemed like original old furniture, creepy paintings and mirrors (and not in an elegant vintage style, in a 'this room hasn't been touched cos its haunted' sort of way!!). Wouldn't of wanted a bath in the bathroom as all looked old and dirty, and paint peeling off etc very strange! But sheets on bed were clean, and did us fine for one night..

Written on behalf of a deaf friend who found the price acceptable . The room was big and private bathroom good size too . Room clean though shabby looking . Helpful reception staff member Well signposted corridors to rooms . Think back packing hostel with private room and bathroom and that sums up this place I would recommend this place but only to those who would accept it as described above and accept it as such

Shabby looking room where the tiniest improvement would make such a difference . .in fairness the room was not dirty .chunk missing from the tv stand . Thin sheet on bed .

Cheap budget hotel- get what you pay for... bt further then clubbing locations then I thought but still decent enough- cost me £6-8 cab to Broad Street.

A bit dated and not a place if you want luxury

Staff was very very friendly and helpful. There were issues the staff couldn't do anything about, but apart from that they did everything in there power to keep you comfortable. The room that I finally got was nice. Best of all, was very reasonably priced. Reasonable place especially if not with family.

It's a very old building and quite an intricate iterior design. Not the cleanest place. Some of rooms are just out dated and in desperate need for refurbishment. But whatever the issue, the young staff will do something to help.

The room had a bath and a TV with an armchair and apart from the peeling wallpaper it was quite nicely furnished. Not a bad price.

There was wallpaper peeling off the wall and there was hardly any daylight in the room.

no pillow as i requested when i booked no condiments (ie milk, sugar) always something missing with every room we book. appauled by the staff and how they didnt pay attention to a pregnant womans needs. will be taking my money else where.

room was clean and tidy. staff was helpful as couldn't find the inn and actually came outside and helped us, by directing us.

The location wass fantastic, could have walked into the city centre. Staff were excellent, wenr out there way to make the stay good.

Room was HOT, no windows, coffee/tea was not replenished each day, my room was not visited by any clener the 3 days I was there.

Very good price for a private room. The staff were friendly and helpful. Highly recommended for those who are on a budget or just need a simple room for the night.

Slightly out of the city however there are regular buses that sometimes run past midnight so this for the most part wasn't really a problem.

We asked for 2 days for a remote and never received one Caught a male cleaner staring through the door when my partner answered the knocking. (He was in a towel as was I) Waters not hot enough Bed base was broken Upstairs was thoroughly banging til gone 1am when my partner had to get up at 6am.

Really should have spent more money. You get what you pay for. We didn't pay much and we didn't get much!

this is an absolutely terrible hotel, filthy dirty and i shall not be staying there again!

The room given to us had no heating and there was a gap in the window (room 409), After complaining i was given room 415 which seemed fine until my wife noticed what seemed to be a bloodstain through the duvet cover,after peeling back the cover there was a bloodstain the size of my hand,As you can imagine we were horrified and decided not to stay,I asked for refund but was told as i had paid by card,i would have to e-mail their head office,which i did as soon as i got home,its been over a week and i still haven't heard anything, even though i sent them pictures,My advise would be to avoid this hotel at all costs,Stay If you don't mind the fact that housekeeping missed a bloodstain on the duvet or maybe they just hoped we wouldn't notice it.

I was greeted by two flies in a room where there was not double gaze in a room in front a road cross by 100 cars a minute, and last but not least: they switched heating off by 11pm so I woke up by 3am shaking of cold...I Can state that it was one of the worst hotels I have ever been in my life. I will never never never book again this hotel.
