Clean, serviceable, inexpensive accommodation in a good location. Each bunk had it's own power point, light and privacy curtain. Window was covered by bunk bed, therefore restricted room ventilation, and each room could have had a locker per bunk space

I really enjoyed my stay at Journeys. I liked the location of the hostel, very close to Kings Cross station and the underground. The atmosphere there is very nice: people are very open and would be pleased to share an evening with you if you are traveling alone. The hostel was quite noisy because of the street nearby and because of the small size of the kitchen/living room. And the water in the showers could be warmer.

Its price basically, what else?... No complaints,as the price was fairly good,as I said. It's just that some people should urge themselves to submit to some kind of severe nasal surgery,in order to give up snoring so horribly at night.

Each bed has it's own power socket and bedside light. I also like the privacy of having a curtain on the bed. My bed was very creaky and made a lot of noise with the slightest move. The lower bunk really is low, practically on the floor. 3 showers for 2 floors of rooms just isn't enough, same for the toilets. The staff on reception are in no hurry to greet you with the exception of one man on there who was very pleasant.

It's near King's Cross and St. Pancras. Good for city trip. People are friendly when you sitting in the downstairs. Free left luggage. As a hostel, I can't require too much. It's too high for me to sleep on the top bed...

Very good bathroom and shower facilities, though the showers could have been a little cleaner. The lockers were too small and the physical feeling was very cramped - the common areas were all in the basement and there wasn't much room.

The location was great. The breakfast was simple, but good and plentiful. I liked the common room area and the tv/movies. The free luggage room was also excellent- they let me drop off my suitcase hours before I even checked in. Good security-they change the code every day No new sheets or pillowcases. Lots of guests smoking/drinking outside.

Location - really close to Euston and St. Pancras train stations. Security - needed a code to get in the front door and the room/dorm. Reception able to keep any valuables for free. Locker storage available for £1. Locked room available to hold luggage/backpacks. Breakfast ample - toast with jam/peanut butter, several cereals on offer (all quality brands), tea/coffee. Was advised about the showers so shows comments left about the hostel have been taken seriously. Crisp and clean bed linen supplied. Stayed 1 night & more than met my needs. Showers were really clean although I didn't use so can't comment about the hot water issue. Tv and newspapers in breakfast room Looked a little dingy so could put you off staying there. If you want to choose which bed to sleep in you can't, it's allocated on arrival. But would that really be an issue. My dorm room was a little small but not a big issue. The room was hot the night I stayed (June 2011) but a desk fan was available. However it had to be turned off during the night as it was a bit noisy. Roomies were rather considerate but 12 beds in 1 room was a bit tight. Particulaly glad I wasn't in the room nearest the female showers as the door banged constantly so a bit noisy. Breakfast room seemed a bit small.

Loved the convenience of being so close to Kings Cross Rail and Tube station which enabled easy access to Central London. The staff were friendly and helpful towards me and I appreciated the fact that I could leave my luggage in storage after I had checked out and collect it later in the day. It needs some maintanance and modernisation but is basically clean .

The location was good and the 24-hour check in. The guy at the reception was total freak, I stayed for 2 nights and had to swap beds the second night. Then during the night around 3.30 AM the receptionist came with a torch waking everyone up asking for receipts telling that there is someone illegally sleeping in the room! That was horrible experience. If You have just a little more money to spend book somewhere else!

The advantage of staying at this hostel was the proximity to Kings Cross station. I wan't so keen on having the female toilets located on the floor below, nor was I very happy with booking a 6 bed female dorm to find I was sharing it with a male. Had I wanted a mixed dorm, surley I'd have booked one!!!!!!!

“The staff was friendly, the room was clean and everything worked just fine! The lockers were big and the room had an own bathroom with shower (which was extremely clean all the time). The location was also very good, not far from the Paddington station. I can recommed this hostel to everyone, I stayed in the six-beded dorm (I wanted to be in a girl-dorm and that was arranged) and even though my roomates were kind of loud sometimes I enjoyed my visit very much. The view from he 6th floor was wonderful.” Heidi, Joensuu |
