Good to stay somewhere that does it's own thing- slightly quirky in some ways. Some things work pretty well- the bath on feet, 4-poster bed, and other things not quite so. Overall a pleasant experience, food especially good, and good value. We would happily stay again!
Location Price Staff Quirky room furniture 4 poster bed
Damp bathroom Exposed pipes Poor finish in bathroom Lighting on approach difficult Driveway accessibility awkward
Beautiful surrounding with sheep Very friendly helpful staff Generous tea and biscuits in room
Very average 'Campsite-like' shower - not one you would hope for at the rate they charge. Smelly heater (only heating within room - we did not use this as we have a 1 year old - instead we were very cold and had to have her in bed with us) Mould on internal wall Damp and dripping in places Average standard of food for what was charged.
The location was fabulous - rolling Kent hills & wondrously peaceful yet minutes from M2. Food on first night good even though we arrived just before last orders. Staff professional, welcoming, friendly. Lovely fire burning in lounge.
Room was small for the two of us even though I opted for an upgrade at point of booking. Probably as there was a wedding that night
I have stayed here a few times and it is ok staff great food excellent but beware of the room allocated some are very very poor I was given room 30 last ime it was like a mountain trip stairs and more stairs very much in need of refurb
Pleasant communal areas and pleasant staff.
Located by motorway so not peaceful. The mix matched furniture in the room. No bath/CD player/ double bed as website stated would be in the room when booked. The smell of urine in the bathroom. The blocked sink.
Room , breakfast, location excellent
Older receptionist was not very welcoming.
Large room in main building, as well as spacious bathroom. Very quiet during night as well set back from main road.
evening meal mixed quality - starter only luke warm, but main course was hot and of good quality.
Lovely surroundings and great breakfast
We stayed at this lovely hotel for two nights and couldn't fault it. Set in its' own beautiful parkland it offers peace and quiet. The rooms are well decorated and the beds really comfortable. The staff are both friendly and helpful and the food is both plentiful and well presented in the lovely dining room. we would return to this hotel again and would certainly recommend it. on both price and quality Jennifer
Very friendly staff. Animals were allowed. Gideon bible still in the room. Lovely breakfast. Extremely comfortable bed. Great setting,
Dog not allowed in the bar area. Shower ok in our room but very tiny shower in my sisters -in -laws room and some problems with her toilet. Guest book said wifi only available in lounge area but we discovered (too late)it is now in rooms.
Breakfast was really good. We only stayed one night but would definitely come back.
Lovely hotel in its own wooded grounds
My room was in a courtyard location with a nice little sitting area with tables . Breakfast was excellent nice and relaxed.
At this moment in time I have no negatives about my stay.
The cleanliness was excellent.
My room #14, the one adjacent to the lobby was noisy, the sound insulation is not adequate it should be looked into it. As well the noise came from the staff room also adjacent. Any other room is problem fine.
Location Bar area
Dirty cutlery, plates and cups Nasty smell in room room right next door to kitchens - noisy very early in morning. Digital signal for TV was poor WiFi did not work in room
Evening meal was excellent Staff were very helpful and friendly Quiet location Ample Parking.
Bed not as comfortable as others but won't stop me returning as everything else made up for it !
Staff very polite.Four poster bed amazingly comfortable sleep room 32!
Wrong time of year for Daddy longlegs . Loads of them flying around inside and out as doors were open from a wedding party on Sat night
Excellent value for money, very comfortable room, easy access, very good dinner and breakfast.
Spacious, well-furnished room Sparkling bathroom Very comfortable bed Friendly staff
Out-of-town location not ideal for us at the time
we liked the food the grounds, the staff who were polite and friendly comfortable rooms
Friendly staff. Excellent breakfast.
No draught beer available as the barrel had run out.
Location not bad, plenty of parking, food was very nice hot and well presented.
Staff very unorganised, dirty room with bin not not empty, dusty, shower tiny, noisy, generally not well kept all though you can see they are trying to bring an old building more modern in style.
Beds were very comfortable Good breakfast Very good value Rural and quiet, i.e. no traffic noise
Being woken up at 3.30 am by a screaming argument between a man and a woman in a nearby bedroom. The language was disgusting and upset my daughter who was in the connecting room to mine. The shouting went on for over 20 minutes and must have been heard by others - we were able to hear every word. I know that's not the fault of the hotel but it certainly did spoil our stay at the hotel.
