Very convenient location close to the railway station and old town with the new town just a 10 minute walk and the Royal Mile only 2 mins away with its variety of good eating places, many shops and the castle at the top.We had a spacious comfortable room with modern bathroom and all the facilities we needed.Breakfast was very good we had no complaints the full english was always freshly prepared and hot.Overall fair value for money.

The hotel is an easy walk with luggage from the Waverly train station, and a half-block stairway walk to the shopping district on High Street (the Royal Mile). The hotel is first-class, and lower priced than anything comparable that I've seen in major U.S. cities. Highly recommended!!!!! The only problem I encountered was not the fault of the hotel itself. It was that the walkway from the hotel to High Street was not always adequately lit at night.

The location was very good. Near the old city center. So if someone wants only this then this hotel is a good choice. However, a good step further for the hotel would be to improve the sound insulation between the rooms. Our room was seperated by the next one by a simple door, so no insulation and no decor at all of course. Therefore, quiet is not at the strong points of the hotel.

Great location, very nice for the money spent. The water pressure in the showers was really low. Didn't have enough time to move rooms but definitely would have complained if I had more time.

It was a good standard hotel with an excellent location The double bed was small and uncomfortable and this made the stay less enjoyable. We stayed one night but would not like to have had to stay longer due to the bed which is a shame as the rest of the room and hotel was very good.

Everything was first class. The breakfast and dinner were excellent. This hotel should have a 4 star rating. Will certainly use on our next visit to Edinburgh. I rang the hotel a few days before our visit to check we were booked in and asked for a quiet room not really expecting to get one as we were arriving after 8.00 pm but whenn we arrived the receptionist said before I asked thatbthey had kept us a quiet room. We asked for extra pillows which arrived within 15 mins. I consider that to be first class service. Nothing

The location was great however this hotel is never a 3 star, the size of bathroom is dreadful and the room is in desperate need of refurbishment, it's been a long time since I have even seen a crt tv in a room and not a flat screen. As above, definately for backpackers, from 0200hrs til 0430hrs all we had during our stay was people within the corridors chatting (loudly), definately not a hotel for relaxing, it's a drop your bags and go venue. Not as advertised!

didn't spend much time in the room, but check-in staff were friendly, room was basic but clean and generally adequate. breakfast arrangement. I was not given the option of booking an inclusive rate, so I expected to pay. I did NOT expect to be told at the dining room that I had to pay there and then in cash before they would let me in. "It is the rule" I was told. But I have never heard the like before, and found the attitude incredibly rude and offensive.

Quick check in, adequate facilities. The cost was astronomical due to the Rugby (not our reason for the trip) being on. The room had an ajoining door which always spells trouble as they don't provide any sound proofing, and sure enough, the noise from next door kept us up all night. Considering we paid £215 for what was actually a £80 room, they had the nerve to leave a bottle of mineral water with a £3.75 price tag where most hotels leave complimentary water. I'm sure I'd have been happy with The Jurys Inn if I hadn't paid so much for what was an unexceptional room.

We asked for a room looking out onto the City-our allocated room looked out to the back of the hotel however the receptionist was happy to change this for us. Very pleased with room and views The cleaner knocking and coming into your room at 8am....not the best wake up call on a weekend away
