Very convenient location close to the railway station and old town with the new town just a 10 minute walk and the Royal Mile only 2 mins away with its variety of good eating places, many shops and the castle at the top.We had a spacious comfortable room with modern bathroom and all the facilities we needed.Breakfast was very good we had no complaints the full english was always freshly prepared and hot.Overall fair value for money.

The location suited us and my wife is a smoker so that was why we chose this hotel. The breakfast supplied was nice and well presented. We did not like the fact that although there was a small car park at the back of the hotel, it was advertsed as having no parking. There was no heating in the room when we arrived and it did not come on until 7pm. It was 6 degrees outside. There was also no heating when we got up in the morning, therefore the room was cold again. I feel that we should have heat available, if we want it, all the time that the room is occupied. I must say that when I complained, I was told that the heating had been re-programmed for the warm spell in March,(a very lame excuse, I know how much effort it takes to switch on/off a boiler system). We were offered a portable heater but realy that is not what we would expect when we are paying £162.00 per night for a room.I Also realise that we do not want to waste heat but that is why we have thermostats on radiators and when a room is vacated it would not take much effort for your cleaning staff to turn down the thermostats in unused rooms. We are Scottish and as such the cold does not bother us too much but I would not wish to see foreign travelers who come from warmer countries coming into that environment. I hope you find the above critisism constructive

Location was perfect, right next to the Waverley Station and had a view which was breathtaking, Walking distance from all main places like the Edinburgh Castle and the Parliament. Staff Very friendly , Rooms were of good size No refrigerator to put our water and food as we opted to not go for the breakfast and brought our own food.

Everything, one of the best hotels I have stayed in the staff were excellent. Room service could be improved e.g. ring from your room for service instead of having to go to the bar to order snacks.

Very handy location, friendly helpful staff, nice clean room. My sole issue is the charge for wifi which after taxes came to 12 pounds a day. Most other establishments have free wifi. This is an issue since I use my computer to book rooms, do business and keep in touch with family. It has the potential to be the determinig factor when considering hotels of similar value.

Very central even though it was a bit tricky to work out how to actually get there from the train station. Beds very comfy. Cleaners very noisy just after 8am letting room doors slam at least 10 times as they went in & out. Black mould evident round bath. Room very cold radiator not working properly. TV picture very dark lock out on remote control didnt allow you to adjust the brightness. Went to the bar for dinner, asked about gluten free options was told only thing on menu gluten free was chicken breast but they didnt have any! Was offered a salad & potatoes, had to go somewhere else to eat!

the staff was friendly you need free wifi!!! we payed $160 for the hotel, wasnt about to pay for wifi, it was pretty pathetic that we had to go to starbucks & for a cup of coffee we got free wifi but $160 for a hotel & you feel you need to charge..guest look at that as a rip-off. wifi was free at almost every coffee shop..it was a bank holiday so we were limited to hotel choices, but i always go for the hotel that provides wifi

The loaction, clsoe to the railway station and right in the middle of the old and new towns. There are great range of restaurants and bars in the vicinity to suit a range of tastes and budgets. The room was perhaps a wee bit sterile looking. Very functional but not 'friendly' or 'cosy'.

The closeness to the station and 'The Royal Mile' we had a very nice breakfast, which is the only meal we ate at the hotel. I filled the bath, only to find the soap containers were half-way up the wall. I had to stand to get soap to bathe with. It would also have been nice to have hot chocolate etc as well as the tea and coffee.

The location was perfect for the train station, as we travelled to Edinburgh by train, and for exploring the city centre, castle etc. Nothing of note, you get what you pay for a smallish (but clean) room with basic facilities. It was a little nosiy being next to the station but its a minor quibble and did not really impact upon our enjoyment.

The hotel is central to the shops and attractions. The hotel is well kept and the staff are professional. Breakfast is good and is plentiful. Meets expectations for a budget priced hotel. Breakfast could have been hotter.

Friendly staff. Food not bad for a 'chain hotel'. Bathroom competent. Room quite small and noisy and looking out onto a wall /car par. At first quite difficult to heat to room temperature.

It provided accomodation for myself and my two adult daughters in one room and was very close to Waverly Station. I didn't like the shower curtain in the bath and the fact that it left little space to move. The shower system itself was very poor.

Excellent location, 2 minutes walk from the train station and about 10 minutes away from the Castle or Princes street. The rooms were a really good size. I could easily put the push chair in a corner and it didn't bother any of us in the room. We asked for adjoining rooms as it was 5 of us travelling together and our request was granted. Very friendly staff in the bar/ restaurant. It would have been good to have a temperature control in the room to change the temperature ourselves.

Very convenient for station, restaurants, castle and visitor attractions. The room did not reflect the description given for what should have been a very luxurious before very large discount. The "spa toiletries" did not exist. The breakfast did not offer enough choice for a Continental style meal.
