great location n lively atmosphere,drinks pricey tho

Location superb, good for Sage, Balti,Theatre, quay side vistas. Bus service into city excellent, car parking good. All in all a very good place to stay at a reasonable price. Will certainly stay again when visiting Theatre etc.

Nice spacious room, friendly welcome, great food.

Bed and pillows slightly too hard for my personal liking, lights on in corridor all night and shining through the door.

Had to call reception for extra towels as there were three sharing. You has to pay an extr £1.50 for breakfast when it said online it was £8.50

Room was nice also the location was great

All cleaning staff were foreign therefore did not understand when you asked them a question. Finding parking was horrendous if you were back to the hotel late at night as the car park was very small.

The staff were wonderful .. Ciaran at reception was a true gentleman, nothing was a bother and Eoin hte barman was a lovely courteous young man. The receptionist on duty when we booked in (Friday 26th April 2013) - cannot remember her name but she's learning to cycle! was so pleasant and pleasing. A great hotel - so near the city centre - lovely quite room, great breakfast - we will be back.

Would love if I could have been able to have a snack like a scone or a croissant with my coffee in the bar... we missed breakfast one morning and felt the choice at the bar ie. crisps, biscuits was not sufficient.

The room facing the river, it was peaceful. The staff were all friendly, especially the waitress in the restaurant who was lovely. Very nice decor in bar area and comfy. We would definitely stay again. Food was nice but we had a criticism of hidden costs .. See later in survey.

Nothing much, the only criticism on the menu really. I chose duck which came with mash. This was fine, but would have expected veg or salad without having to pay more. Ths is a hidden cost as how many of us would just have meat and mash? Also tvs with sport everywhere which if you don't like sport is distracting and spoils the peace. Perhaps an area tv free would be really nice.

Dining room on the river, able to sit outside. Speed of change of room when we needed to move due to noise. Lots of hot water

1. Lack of draw space - there was minimal storage for clothes,and nowhere really to put suitcases so we could use them as storage, there were hangers, but not everything goes on hangers. 2. No mushrooms or black pudding at breakfast 3. price quoted on website for parking was less than we were charged - but I know this was not your website, but it needs its info updated 4. My husband was served a beer which didn't clear, he refused it and was given another but it did make him feel nauseaus and it was probably off.

I'd hardly say its a dislike. But its a bit strange being able to see the people in the rooms opposite. I guess that's just the layout though. One thing, the lights in the corridors should be sensored after midnight, as too much light shone under the room doors. But overall, very good hotel

Excellent staff and service.

I had booked a parking space when booking through booking.com but when I got to the hotel they advised that parking spaces cannot be booked. Had I known this I would have chose a different hotel as the parking was a real problem and caused issues as we had a young child with us.

We booked our room on 26 March for 2 nights 10 / 11 April through Booking.com. Despite a misunderstanding between Booking.com and the hotel which we only discovered on the morning of 10 April, our booking was honored and confirmed prior to arrival. Our B&B package was great value for money and we had a lovely view over the Tyne into the bargain! We would gladly recommend this hotel & package to friends & family. Great service, good food & immaculate accommodation.

Bar prices were steep - £6 for a glass of white wine & £4 for a pint of lager a bit on the high side!

Staff very helpful and friendly. When we asked for something it was almost as if they knew you needed it before you asked, it was done so quickly. Breakfast was nice also

Waitress attitude whilst having tea in the bar about 12 noon. All other staff were great.
